  3. I can't see into the bell housing, although I may take the inlet manifold off to give it a spruce up, will check then, I havent checked the inspection covers yet but I will do...thanks Jon
  4. Thanks for the reply:), had another look tonight, found a slight oil leak coming from the cam cover seal at the rear, which is tracking down to the starter location hole. So this may account for the traces of oil on the rubber bits. A couple of chunks of the rubber look like a flat edged o-ring.. I would of thought if it were the rear main oil seal, for the amount of rubber there, my garage floor would be swimming:innocent:, also isn't the rear main usually brown in colour? cheers Jon
  5. New contacts arrived today, does anyone have any ideas as to what seal has been eaten? Is there an o-ring or seal that fits to the starter housing? cheers Jon
  6. Strange one this, I've removed the starter of my car as I've started getting the dreaded 'click'. Fine, got it off OK, but upon inspection, there is what can only be described as little bits of rubber, mixed with slight trace of oil. Some pics are attached of the starter & the bits I've scraped out so far. Now AFAIK, there are no problems with the way ther car drives, obviously if it were to be the rear main seal, I presume oil would be flooding out. Does anyone know if the flex plate has rubber on it, or does the starter have a seal thats come apart and has got chewed up in the gear? On a plus note the copper contacts are goosed:) cheers Jon

  10. wow, Schuey actually admitted he was wrong: "Michael Schumacher has said he is "sorry" if Rubens Barrichello felt he had been put in danger by his blocking manoeuvre at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver will be penalised 10 grid places at the next grand prix after he pushed his former team-mate within centimetres of a concrete wall. Schumacher wrote on his website: "The manoeuvre against him was too hard. "I didn't want to endanger him with my manoeuvre. If he had this feeling I am sorry, this was not my intention." Williams driver Barrichello called the move the most dangerous in his long career and said the German should have been black-flagged for dangerous driving. The seven-time world champion initially denied he was at fault. However, on reflection Schumacher admitted to making a mistake."
