I believe you need a N46B20B engine, the E46 is a N46B20A eng. If i can remember, the sens on A eng were different.

You are right this engine does not have DISA valve. No only the diesel engine has swirl flaps, Abz.

Sounds like the intake manifold adjuster valve flaps broken.

If it's the new model machine it should, if it say's CAM sens ignore and change CRANK, as that's where a lot of mechanics get caught out.

Crank sensor is the main culprit, a dealer level diagnostic machine like Autologic will confirm it. Fit only original and you need to remove intake manifold to get to it.
