  1. Did I not read it right? Excuse the incompetance and spelling ;-) What is WOT?
  2. I have always found you need alot of time and patience to do this.. Thats why its best to get the misses to help Not sure if anyone has any other ideas, but you can get de-greaser spray that you spray on, let it eat into the dirt then hose off. I also find a bit of WD40 gives the engine a good new/shine to it, especially the rubbers etc. Have not had a real good go at mine yet, so maybe someone else has learned a better way..
  3. I would say that you need the speed wire connected to see if the car is moving which you have said, would you not be able to get a wire from the alternator running somewhere.. I dont think you will have a wire to the alternator running near the bulkhead. you dont have a voltage meter on yours do you? Does it run straight off alternator or something? Or needs a current to continually charge something? This is all guess work by the way :upside:
  4. Surely its just a wire or two that has to be disconnected from the switch and wired up togeather? I was going to look into this as remembering to switch it off all the time is a pain in the Anyone actually done this on a VVT-i?

Ahh, Tenby.. I am from Pembrokeshire matey.. Originaly from St.Florence. I visit down there now and again.. You dont have a black supra do you, as I seen one down there the other weekend and I gave them a flash and a wave... Get rid of that English flag boyo
  6. First pics, I prefer the MK4 straight off.. I like the curvy lines.. Not them clean straight cut ones like the Celica has. I think they have just cut-and-shut the damn thing.. Front end - MR2 Roadster. Backend - Celica. Anyways, the boss says I have to keep this car for ever and ever now due to the ammount I spent on it
  7. Hi all, Don't know whether everyone has tried these after market warrantys before, but I used a good one with my MR2. I have now just had back a quote off them to cover my soop. They have quoted me on a 98 VVT-i TT 6speed. The warrenty covers all major parts such as ECU, Turbos, ABS, AC etc etc. Big list! You can use your own VAT reg'd garage for repairs also. They do pay out well from the experience I had with them on the MR2. Only thing you have to do is prove car is serviced regulary ie. With VAT reg'd garage stamps. Price I got was: PREMIUM RANGE: 6Months - £248 12Months - £312 24Months - £594 Price includes car hire stuff aswell.. Never used that thou. If you are interested, visit the web site: http://www.warrantywise.co.uk Not plugging them, just thought after having the quote back, someone else would be interested in it.
  8. Is it just me then, or is the title of this not called "1997+ Facelift j-spec Q's" Plus, on the earlier pages, these reflectors are mentioned, therefore it seemed a nice place to post and tag onto to.
  9. bahhhh, there is always one
  10. Whats wrong with the Greedy system then?
  11. What about the 76mm Garrett GT42 DBB. I heard this packs some power..
  12. Greedy TI system I like. Lovely note to it.
  13. I have checked mine now.. They are LIGHTS!!! I was also under the impression they were reflectors So, visited the local Halfords and got myself some bulbs, as when I took one side off, nothing in them.. Got back home thinking, "ohhh these will look nice" First side done, looked great! Went to the second side, "Will only take me 5 minutes" I thought. BUT, low and behold, no damn connector connected to the other side light! Does anyone know where the connectors are plumed off from? Rear cluster or, whether there will defo be a connector with wires hanging down inside somewhere? Hopfully someone will say yes the wires should be there, else I will have to do some wire stripping

    336 bhp WRX

I have beaten one of them WRX STi's with my MR2 running on 17PSI. Noway he does it in 4!!

    ECU's

Honey Hell!! What a choice.. Do these options give good return on the power side then? Looking at it, I think I will save for the total replacement, providing it gives me more options for future moding and good increase in power. Would these also benifit then the air/fuel mixture. I am guessing they would?

    ECU's

Oh and graphs you say?!? OK forget the bit about the price, I NEED one

    ECU's

Any idea on what is the best one is out there for the VVT-i's? I am wondering about whats involved in getting/installing one. Ohh I should mention price aswell, dont want to get interested in getting one when they are silly money. Anyone installed one of this upgraded ECU's? I would welcome feedback on them.. Many Thanks Guys, Markie.

    ECU's

Hi all, Sorry for this silly question, still learning.. But I have read alot of people havinf these HKS ECU or APEX ones.. What is the difference between these and the standard ECU? I thought the standard ones settings can just be adjusted, so just wondering if someone has some info on this.. Or have I been lazy again and there is in fact a thread already explaining this.. Many Thanks, Markie.
  19. Yes, I have the extra dials for boost etc in the dash. You guys think its just because of the SVA and the do luck bummper then? I hope so..
  20. Just a bit confused. I thought I had the latest model soop. I mean last of the bunch, after they did all the changes and then just produced them until stop. Its a late 97 VVT-i which I thought was a facelift model, but I have seen alot of other soops on here with the side repeaters on the bumpers, but mine are in the front wing. Any ideas? I also have lights on the rear bumper at the side. Markie..
  21. Whats the danger level on the reading for the exhaust manifold then? 900 Deg before its time to slow down a bit? ;-)

    Cams

Well, I have read about some guy in the US tuning his Soop to 1132rwhp using a lot of HKS stuff and HKS cams. He obviously knows his stuff, but it looked like he did not blow up any engines while tuning to this insane power either... I personally would pay extra if its possible. HKS are supposed to out do all competitors for power on their relevent products so I hear. But this could of been some crap the garage told me in order to buy the HKS brand. But that guy tuning his beast is real. Check out http://www.to4r.com/to4r.php
  23. Hi all, I have got some defi gauges. One already linked up for the turbo pressure, but the other one is still waiting to be connected up. This gauges etc were installed before I had the car. The exhaust heat sensor is still tied up in the engine bay at the moment, and I hear its a real hard sensor to fit (Exhaust Manifold needs drilling etc?) Anyone got some info on this please, and possibly where and how much to get it done properly with no horror stories.. Oh and also, could someone explain what the VVT-i exactly does? (I think its like the dual cam business, but I think I am wrong)

    South Wales

I have just moved up to Trefechan, just on the outskirts of Merthyr. Looking at your avatar, I have seen a silver soop now and again, wondering if that was you now :-) Whats the deal on this garage in Swansea fellar? I used to use Hyline in Cardiff for my MR2, but unsure how the workmanship is now with them, as I have not been back down there for a while. That Thor place is going to have to be a now and again job as its up by coventry isnt it?
  25. Markie

    South Wales

Any of you live down in south Wales? Also, are there any decent garages in the area that anyone knows of? South Wales/Cardiff and surrounding areas. Feedback would be great, thanks..
