1. Listing this for a friend, who is not on the forum. Manufacturer: VAUXHALL Model: VX220 TURBO Metallic Paint: Yes Type: Sports/Convertible Mileage: 32,000 Doors: 2 DOOR CONVERTIBLE MOT Expiry: 07/2016 Colour: SILVER/BLACK Drive Side: Right-hand drive Year: 2003 Safety Features: Alarm, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Driver Airbag, Immobiliser, Passenger Airbag Reg. Date: 16/05/2003 Exterior: Alloy Wheels, Catalytic Converter, Rear Spoiler Engine Size: 1998 cc Interior/Comfort Options: Leather Seats Transmission: 5 SPEED MANUAL PETROL I-Car Audio: Premium Sound System Fuel: PETROL I have owned this car for 2 1/2 years. In this time I have only driven it about 1500 miles because of my job. It is garaged and was garaged by the previous owner. NO INSURANCE ISSUES WHATSOEVER. NOT EVEN A CAT D. The car is original so no silly mods. Because of this, it is an appreciating classic (see the photo of the newspaper review). Only 1940 of this model made and as a result of modders and crashes, the original spec cars are getting rarer. I had the cambelt changed shortly after buying it, so this is 2 years ago. Recommended change is every 4 years. This is in the Service history book. Oil changed last month and 1500 miles ago. I have also changed the pads and discs all round. Not because they were worn but because it is a habit I have had on all my cars which gives me peace of mind. The drivers seat bolster has been repaired on both sides of the seat by DavetheTrimmer a few weeks ago and I have fitted a Thinkware F750 dashcam front and rear (useful to provide insurance proof in the event of a claim or speeding claim). The dashcam is of the highest spec available and has a few amazing features http://thinkware.com/Products/Dashcam/F750. If you don't want this, I will take £300 off the asking price. Pioneer DEH-X8500DAB radio is Bluetooth and can be used for Handsfree calls, DAB radio, CD, ipod/iphone. Alloys are original and tyres are in very good condition all round. Also included is a rare original set of VX220 floor mats that were hidden under the present rubber mats. These are not in the car but take 2 mins to swap. Car is supplied with a black soft top which has been cleaned and dyed/waterproofed so looks like new. Everything works on this car. It has carbon fibre door sill guards fitted on both sides (see photos). Bodywork is original and has the usual front end and turbo "ears" stone chips, but these are hardly noticeable. There is no rear spoiler bubbling of the paintwork. There is one small chip on the offside rear wheel arch. Now the serious bit. NO TYRE KICKERS, TRADERS OR BOY RACERS. NO TEST DRIVE UNLESS YOU PLACE THE CASH IN MY HAND TO HOLD AND CAN PROVE YOUR INSURANCE AND DRIVING LICENSE DETAILS. £13,500 I would consider a Part exchange for a LWB High Top Mercedes Sprinter Van, which is why I am selling the car to buy one. I would prefer a Van up to around £6000 in value and the rest in cash.

Roof rust

Did you ever get it fixed, and what prices were you quoted? I had my roof resprayed about 9 years ago, and the car has been sat on the drive covered for about 2 years. I removed the cover recently, and was horrified to see 3 bits of the roof blistered. I on the top of the windscreen about the width of a 50p, and another one over the drivers door panel, along with some small surface bubbles (water ingress I think) on one of the window pillars. So Im looking to get these repaired shortly, as I don't have the time at the moment to do them myself.
3. I used one on my car a few days ago, and it didnt react wiyth the paint. I dunno, all I know is it has knackered my mrs bonnet on her car, and she aint to happy. It does look like toxic waste, flourecent green and all..
4. Harvard, Its not on a Supra, Its a Pug 206cc in Burnt Orange. Rare colour, but Standard.
5. Yup I was planning on doing a video of it, but it started to get dark, so will do it tommorow evening, when I get back in from work.
6. Yes it is standard factory paint. As far as I know it has never been sprayed etc. I washed it for her about an hour before, and the bubbles were definatley not there when I washed it.
7. Hi, Im just wondering what to do. My partner has just sprayed on some Mantis Instant Shine (JML) that she bought from Sainsburys, after about 2 mins of rubbing it in on the bonnet she called me to tell me that her paintwork was bubbling. Not believing her I went over to see, and couldnt believe my eyes. Wherever she has sprayed it, the paint has started to bubble underneath. I have taken some pictures, but am wondering who to complain to first Sainsburys or Mantis themselves, fro ruining the paintwork on the bonnet of her car. Does anybody have any Ideas, or have you seen this type of reaction before? I have attached some pics below.
8. This one is weird though, the engine starts, and I can rev it, but as soon as I take my foot off the throttle it starts to splutter then satll. The mechanic thought it could be something to do with the MAF or the ECU, but he wasnt sure. Hes been trying to find the E38 740 V8 service manuals online, but hasnt had any luck. Im just wondering if my OBDII bluetooth dongle would work on one of the BMW convertor thingys (Converts ODB to the BMW circular diagnostic port), and give me some fault codes?
9. I went to use my E38 last week, and after starting it the engine began to stutter, and then stalled (As if there was dirt in the fuel) After several attempts I called out a mechanic who seems to think it could be a fault on the ECU, and that it may need to be sent away to be reprogrammed at a cost of around £200. Im thinking it may be easier just to pick up an ECU from a breakers that is the same model number, and replace it myself. I have done this on other cars, but never on my E38 as it has always been very reliable. Can anyone tell me where the ECU is located in the 740, is it behind the centre console in the dash, or in the boot? Also, has anyone ever come across a similar problem, and if so what was it, as Im not convinced itis the ECU at fault here. Any help is greatfully appreciated.
10. Is there any difference between the auto shifter in a NA supra and the one used in the TT, the gear selector unit? Im looking to replace my one in a TT Cheers, Warren.
11. I have a complet set of facelift seats for sale, including frames & seatbelt fittings. Ther rears match the fronts,in the same pattern (No pic for the rears yet as they are still in the car) These are in excellent condition with no marks, tears etc. They have been in my car for a few years, and am only selling them as I have just bought some leather ones. I'm looking for around £120 ono for them.
12. I meant passenger's, but nicely spotted.
13. I am having a bit of an issue with my windows at the moment. They wont go up or down, drivers or rear. I have changed the switches on both doors with a spare set that i had, but they still dont work. I have also checked all of the fuses and none of them have blown. The central locking all works, and the inside lock switch. but I cant seem to find out where the fault lies. Are there any relays that control the windows hidden away anywhere? Any help would really be apreciated.
14. Thanks Nic, This should help me a great deal. The only problem that I can see is that the Central door locking is still working, so is it a fuse. Is there also a relay that controls the windows, as Im sure that I had the same problem last time this happened about 4 years ago. Both windows are not working, and the lights on the switches are not illuminated, exerything else works. I have tested with a spare switch.
15. Ive had my car stood on the drive for a few months, charged the battery and it works fine. The only problem I have is that the bottom of the drivers door card is damp and both windows have stopped working. I have changed the drivers window switch with a spare one, and still nothing. The central locking works fine though. I had a problem like this a few years back and the mechanic that fixed it said that it was a relay that had blown. Unfortunately I no longer live near him, and I don't have his contact details anymore. Does anyone know which relay that it might be? Ive looked at the fuses in the drivers foot well and they seem to be fine. A few people have said its fuse 18, a 30amp one, but mine only go to number 15. Also noticed that the green light on the windows switch was not lit either. I could really do with some help here. Cheers, Warren.
16. Hi UGP, did you get my PM with my contact details? If you need any more info then please don't hesitate to call me.
17. This beautiful rare guitar was purchased in 1998 as a collector guitar. It is in immaculate condition and has never been played, and would be the center piece in anyones collection. I believe that only 280 were made for distribution worldwide, whereas 507 were made of JS's other fine guitar the chromeboy. The guitar has a beautiful flip-flop paint finish that changes colour depending on the light and viewing angle. SPECIFICATIONS: Neck Material: Maple one piece (20mm @ fret one/22.3 @ fret 12) Fingerboard Material: Ebony (42mm @ nut 56mm @ fret 21) Fingerboard Radius: 240mm R Fretwire Warmoth #6105 Body Material: American Basswood Pickups: Front / DiMarzio PAF-PRO Rear / DiMarzio FRED Tremolo: Edge Controls: 1-Volume (with high pass switch) 1-tone (with tap switch 1-3 Way Toggle Pickup Selector Hardware Colour: Chrome Finish: JS 90HAM Special The Guitar is supplied with the Ibanez registered certificate. I paid £2500.00 for the guitar in 1998, it has never been played and is rare. I am looking to get back what I paid for it, or very near.
18. Winchester 350k for a 2 bedroom flat, on the outskirts. (Shawford)
19. Just found out today that the car is a write off. The engine is knackered. So not very happy.
20. I appreciate that dude, but my problem is it was fine when it went in, I assumed it would be fine when it came out. The garage manager was the person overseeing the work, he gave my brother the keys, but didn't mention it.
21. My point was, I know the coolant was ok when it went in there as I replaced the thermostat a few months back and have been keeping my eye on it. I'm more annoyed that they didn't say anything when the car was picked up. They charged me £400 in repairs to pass the MOT, but failed to mention anything about the coolant when it was collected. They didn't mention it at all. Even if it was there fault and the told me there was a leak, I would have asked them to fix it, not just put a note on the back of the failure sheet and not mention it. As I said if the car had no oil in it would they fail to mention that. For the sake of the cost of coolant or fixing it they have now cost me 400+ and any future business that they would have ever had from me.
