  1. And, if you're old enough to remember, the Humblebums (with Billy Connolly) and Stealer's Wheel (with Joe Egan). RIP Gerry.
  2. IVA replaced SVA last year, and (don't quote me, Jurgen would know more than I do ), I heard that it's less onerous because you no longer need a model report, just the Japanese de-registration document as proof that the car meets Japanese standards. EDIT: Sorry, it's next year now, so I meant the year before last.
  3. On GTROC? http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/135025-ams-gt-r-track-car-build-how-tear-down-brand-new-r35-gt-r.html
  4. Found it here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?58100-Missing-caliper-bolt&highlight=rear+caliper+bolt (and checked the EPC).
  5. I don't think it has the correct documents to be registered properly. Q-plate maybe... In reality, it will be broken for the manual kit and engine.
  6. And there you see what is so stupid about the whole Jewish vs Christian vs Islam nonsense (not to mention the sects within each religion)... it's all different interpretations of the same thing. Historically, as I understand it, Islam, as the last on the scene so to speak, acknowledged this in the status it accorded to Jews and Christians in Muslim-governed states.

  8. This is the Supra water pump. As I recall from researching this in case I ever need to replace the waterpump on my Aristo, you need to buy Part 16100 (and the pulley, Part 16371, and Supra auxiliary belt). If you were fitting a new pump to a Supra you'd only have to buy Part 16110.
  9. Neither car will be driven anyway, they'll re-surface as a single auction entry in a few years with "very low mileage".
  10. What I meant was... The Aristo has a double pump - one part is the water pump, and the other part is the hydraulic pump for the cooling fan. You can substitute a complete Supra TT water pump for the complete Aristo TT water pump. Since you'd want to replace the pump anyway, even on a Supra engine, it's not a huge extra expense when you have to replace it on an Aristo engine.
  11. However, if you consider that you would fit a new water pump if you were transplanting a used Supra TT engine (you would, wouldn't you? )... Could the N/A engine mounts be used?
  12. Having watched a few N/A-supercharger build threads, I've come to the conclusion that the first line in the instructions should be "1) Find and fit a 1UZ-FE". On a serious note, it does require considerable ingenuity and determination just to find the room, let alone actually mount and drive the blower. Good luck! (Not that it's anything to do with luck, but "Good ingenuity and skill!" doesn't really work as an exhortation.)
  13. If it was for an NA-TT you could drill the NA sump for the oil return...
  14. If it's on the DVLA database in your name (i.e. it has a V5 whatever it is now), and it's not SORNed, and it's not on the insurance database you'll be fined. In the meantime, all the criminals (you know, those people who, by definition, are not bothered about obeying the law) will continue to drive uninsured and untaxed vehicles that aren't registered in their name. Another brilliant f***ing way to fine the law-abiding who forget to fill in a form, while the people they are trying to stop carry on exactly as before. Oh, and compulsory registration of ALL vehicles, including competition cars and bikes, was mooted a few years ago, but didn't become law.
  15. I see they have a Staff who likes cats (as did our much-missed SBT). If only our cats liked dogs...
  16. That's what I assumed. I know people do re-drill flywheels, but it never seemed like a good idea to me. Could you give them a 1UZ-FE flexplate and a 2JZ-GTE flywheel as patterns?
  17. I think I saw (on v-eight.com or Lextreme, or both) that if the 1UZ crankcase to V160 adaptor was 3/4 inch(?) thick, then you would use a flywheel with the 2JZ-GTE dimensions, drilled for the 1UZ crank and the V160 pressure plate (or you could make the flywheel thinner and bolt the 1UZ flexplate betweeen flywheel and crank to avoid fitting a ring gear to the flywheel). ed_jza80 is the man to ask.
  18. Have a TV with a built-in digital tuner and a Freeview+ box.
  19. When I was thinking about this (not that I ever actually did anything about it ), I started off with all sorts of expensive ideas about fast cars... then I realised that they'd be wasted on me anyway. In the end, I came to the conclusion that I should just buy a cheap BMW E36 or Peugeot 306 GTi, do a few track days, and if I decided to stick with it I'd spend some money on mods.
  20. No personal experience, but I found this guy through a build diary on a bike forum. I think he's near Wisbech.
  21. There are blokes in back garden sheds over here who have more skill and artistry than OCC. (and they end up with bikes that are fully road-legal and are actually ridden)
