  1. Mini Update: I know the photo's didn't work on the last post, I've reattached them below in the same order, hopefully they work this time. At the time of writing this, the car is around 75% (as a guess) complete, I will update this with the new parts list and engine work in the next couple of weeks.
  2. Tickets now available for the event, hopefully the link below should allow you to purchase the tickets: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cm-event-supercar-style-guide-the-bowl-tickets-1237231124599 Alternatively you can get tickets through the caffeine & machine website (caffeineandmachine.com) Make sure to select May the 24th and the 2pm slot, for the bowl venue. Seems to be a supercar event being held the same day, a pretty good pairing in my opinion, what's better than a bunch of supercar killers taking over a supercar event!
  3. We're taking over Caffeine & Machine: The Bowl in May. Everyone is invited and it'd be great to have a big turnout of mk4's at the spot! Details are as follows: Location: Caffeine & Machine: The Bowl (1 Ampthill Rd, Houghton Conquest, Bedford, MK45 3JP) The time slot is 2pm - 5pm, the meet up will be held on the 24th of May 2025, hopefully by then the good weather will be here. As always please follow the rules of Caffeine & Machine and respect the rules they have put inplace (no funny business basically) Tickets can be bought through the Caffeine & Machine website closer to time, tickets cost £10. We hope to see alot of member's there, to see old faces and meet new ones! (Thanks to @raddys for letting us use a photo of his supra)
  4. Who doesn't love lots of chrome! Engine bay's coming along nicely!
  5. Hi everyone, Decided to start a build thread so that the build process can be documented. I don't think this car will ever be done but who know's, this might make for an interesting read! Chapter 1: Life Dream Complete This chapter of the story might be alittle long, many updates on the build progress from 04/05/2024 to the day of this post (14/08/2024). So where do I begin, well the car was bought and collected on the 4th of May 2024. To own one of these cars has been the dream in life since I was 13 years old, to finally say that I own one now means life is completed for me, I'd posssibly go as far to say that this is one of the greatest days of my life! The car is amazing, a twin turbo aerotop with the V160, that has to be the best spec for this car! My only issue, the car is a bit of a basket case. I knew this when buying it, the car runs and will drive, going from the listing advert, it just needs a good engine tune to get it running as sweet as a nut, get the fans connected and bolt down the interior. Also needs a bloody good clean, he's a bit of a dirty boy to say the least! Got the car loaded up onto my friend's lorry (yes a bit overkill to tow a car but I don't have access to a normal car trailer). One thing I'm learning is that when you mention to people that you have a Supra, they are always more than happy to help. Finally got the car home, now the fun begins. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/loaded up.jpg Chapter 2: Getting My Hands Dirty Step 1 is to make a list of everything that I can see needs doing to the car, and boy there's a few things to do.... Car needs a good clean both inside and outside, interior needs to be bolted down, the small issue of connecting the fans needs to be resolved, getting the bonnet closed also needs to be addressed (for some reason the bonnet won't latch). The boot gas strut's need to be replaced and the boot is determinded to land on my head when opened, fix the drooping exhaust and bolt down the wheel arches and front bumper, and the battery needs securing. all of this to be done before the car goes into mapping..... file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/job list.jpg So straight away the interior needs to be cleaned. I have decided to bolt this together first as I'm hoping this should be the easiest job. But before that can happen, it needs a good clean. Everything I touch in the car makes my hand's turn black with 10 years of dust! file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/cleaned interior.jpg With the interior now clean, the interior can be bolted back together. I ordered new screws as most of them are missing, part's to fix down include all the side paneling, dash board pieces and the carpet of all things. It's at this time I notice that the seat belts are dry rotted, so there gonna need to come out and be reworked with new material, I need that MOT to finally be able to drive this thing. Fixing the exhaust was a doddle. Getting underneath the car showed that one of the rubber donuts had came off the exhaust hanger, by far the easiest fix of the car so far. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/loose exhaust.jpg As for the battery, a new tie down clamp needs to be added as mine is missing this. Also another easy fix. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/battery.jpg Now I don't know if this is just me being me, but having to remove half of the interior just to get too 2 nuts for the gas strut's seems like a massive paint in the arse, which by god it was. I manged to remove the gas strut's and get them sent away for a rebuild, this was suprisingly cheap. Once there back after a couple of days, I can get them refitted to the car, and by magic, the boot is now able to support itself!!! file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/strut.jpg Now comes the job I've been dreading, getting the fans wired. I've got lucky as the wiring for the fans is already there, I just need the input signal to get the fan's to come on. The plan is to have the car do this, I've spent ages trying to figure out where to take the input signal from. In the end, I just had the fans wired to a switch as the car is now booked in for mapping, and I'll have the engine mapper wire the fan's in properly as this is something they can do. Sadly the wheel arch and bumper bolt's didn't arrive on time, but this isn't an issue, they can be fitted to the car at a later date. Chapter 3: Why Does My Car Sound Like A Clock? The day is now the 1st of June, the car is once again loaded on to my friend's lorry (at this point it's just funny seeing this thing on the back of an artic lorry!) and we're on our way to see Jordan at Motion Autoworks. Jordan is a sound guy who was willing to take on the engine tuning of this car. When we arrived at his workshop and got the car unloaded, he wasn't shy and jumped straight into inspecting the car, looking over the engine bay and talking about what the car needs and how it'll be done. Straight away we can see that new fuel line's need to be made, as these have been done incorrectly. No big issue, just something minor. Now the story get's interesting.... The car is left with Jordan to work his magic on the car and get it running. I make my way home, only to get a phone call an hour later from Jordan with not so good news. I see a video he has sent me, where the car sounds more like a clock, ranther than a roaring 2JZ. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/ticking.mp4 Speaking on the phone with Jordan, he was able to get the car running well, as the car was extremely rich before, it smelt like 5L of fuel on idle. It seems the car only had a general base map loaded onto the Link ECU, after Jordan had got the car running better, the deadly ticking noise of a broken bottom end showed its ugly face. I new the car had new bottom end bearings done to it that hadn't been ran in, as the car has been off the road for the last 10 years, and not driven. *Disclaimer - I am not holding anyone accountable for the work that was done to this car before my ownership, I am not blaiming anyone and hold no grudges against anyone. I am lucky to be in a position where I can afford to rebuild the car and, although it sucks to have a more broken car than I thought, its not the end of the world!* Speaking with Jordan, it is decided that the engine is going to need to be stripped and inspected to see what has failed and is causing the car to tick and knock. A large paid deposit later and the work has started. And boy this is where the fun begins.... file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/engine out.jpg So straight away Jordan has found that 90% of the coolant hose's have no clips on the hose's and are loose. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/coolant hose.mp4 The oil return line from the turbo's also has no clips on the hose, so under pressure this would have just blown off and set fire to the car. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/turbo line.mp4 The engine manifold has finger tight nuts holding the turbo's to the car.... file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/manifold.mp4 Cam cap NO.7 is installed the wrong way around. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/cam cap .jpg The engine sump has been stuck on with bathroom sealant, not even the good sealant as well to add insult to injury. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/sump.png The engine wiring harness has been hacked and pooly connected back together. Piston NO.1 has seen better day's, by the looks of it, something has gotten into the intake system and entered cylinder 1. This has mashed the piston, and the head is even worse, with really bad pitting. When I say that the road's in the UK are smoother that the cylinder head surface, I'm not exagerating.... file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/piston 1.jpg Finally (and thankfully I suppose), we get to the main issue, the bottom end. Remember earlier when I said about the car having new bearing's, well yes it does, but the bearing's have killed this engine. These are upgraded King Race bearing's, with new end cap's. What appears to have happened is the new end cap's have new bolt's as well, these bolt's have a higher torque rating than the stock bolts. What someone has done is fitted these new end cap's to the stock piston rod's, and because of the higher torque rating, this has caused the rod to bend. The side's of the bearing's are unmarked, but the top's are extremely worn. This combined with the fact that the car had no oil pressure due to the pick up line being blocked with sealant, yeah the engine need's a full rebuild. Also the crank has light scoring because of this. file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/bearing 1.jpg file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/bearing 2.jpg file:///C:/Users/coryt/Downloads/why engine came out.png In a way, the engine ticking has sort of saved the car. Alot of these issue's would have only been noticed if the engine was stripped down. We seem to have found this just at the right time as the block is still good, otherwise the car would have been scrap and only good for spare's. So this is where we are at currenly. The engine is away for machining and the part's are being ordered. This isn't the end of the car, and it's going to come back even stronger than before.
  6. Hi Homer, could you send me a private message and I'll send you my number, I can't seem to send you a message for some reason if I can join the WhatsApp group that'd be great!

  8. Hi, I'm trying to get my 93 TT Supra back on the road, one of the jobs I need to do before this can happen is to wire the fan's to the car. Currently I have a Koyorad radiator with twin electric Flex-o-Lite fans attached. On the wiring side: both fans are wired to relay (90987-02010), which is wired to a 30A fuse, power to that fuse is from another relay on the car in the fuse box (EFI MAIN). On the second relay (90987-02010), connection 3 is the power in, connection 5 goes to the fan's, 2 is ground but currently I have a cable connected to connection 1 which isn't connected to anything, I believe this is the input signal for the relay to bring the fan's on. I need to know where would be the best place to connect this cable to, which will bring the fans on if the car detects it's getting hot. I have read on some formus that the fan's can be controlled by the themostat. I currently have a plug which I believe is the ECU control for the water temp sensor (the plug is under the upper radiator hose, this plug has 2 cables on it). I'm hoping it's possible to take the signal to bring the fan's on from this plug, but I wanted to check this before I do it. I know these fan's are wired wrong at the minute, twin electric fan's should be on seperate circuits, just in case one fan fail's, it will not stop the other from working as well. I think the way the fan's are wired on my car at the minute should work, I want to do this to get them temporarily working because the car needs mapping. The eventual plan is to get the car to SRD Tuning to have them properly wired. Any advice on how I can get the fan's connected and working would be great, as I can't find a clear answer on how to do this. Thanks.
  9. Hi Everyone, New member here! My name is Cory and I'm the prowd owner of a 1993 Toyota Supra. I've loved these cars since I was 13 years old, watching video's online of these thing's spitting 4ft flame's and racing TT lambo's and GTR's, beating them all. So finally 9 years later I have bought my very own one. My car is a 1993 original twin turbo model, that has had the V160 6 speed manual swap done to it. The car was imported from Japan in 1997, where it stayed in the same family ownership for the next 12 or so years. I recently purchased the car this year, the car has been off the road for over 10 years, I'm currently just sorting the remaining things on the car to get it back on the road. The car's alittle...well very rough, but can't wait to drive it!!! Mods on the car: ARP rod bolts, King Racing bearings, Brian Crower 264 cams, HKS cam gears, HKS cam belt, Owen Develpoments twin Garret GT25 turbos, Splitfire coil packs, after-market pipework including Whifbitz intercooler piping to a Chris Wilson side mount intercooler, Koyorad radiator with Flex-o-Lite twin electric fans, Titan fuel rail, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, ASNU 550cc injectors, Walbro 340 fuel pump, Hodge fuel lines, Tanabe Touring Medallion exhaust system, Link G4+ Supralink ECU, Link MAP sensor, Link Canlambda wideband, Link boost control solenoid, Bosch knock sensors, B03B rear diff, RPS Cyn R G lightened flywheel, RPS clutch, UK spec front and rear TT brakes and Compomotive M06 alloys. Few goodies on the car too: factory LED interior footwell lights, UK spec glass headlights, UK spec bonnet scoop, factory interior knee pads for drivers side. This is my all-time dream car, and the one car I own which I will never sell. I have major plans for this car, keeping the stock body but turning it into the ultimate fast street car. I can't wait to get this car to different shows and meets, I'm in the Midlands area, so if anyone knows of any good shows/meet-ups, let me know as it would be nice to meet other supra owners.
