  1. Hi All, Its time to give my new Supra a good ol service, but i have no idea about what exactly needs to be done for the full service and what oil/coolants to actually use!??! Can someone please advise me on the following please: 1 - what exactly needs changing on a mjaor service? 2 - what oils i need to put in, inc the auto gearbox oil? 3 - whats a good coolant to use? Im going to pass all this onto my mechanic friend whos quite good but not actually got experience with these cars. many thanks all! Foz.
  2. Hey thanks Angarak! ill take a look.
  3. Wow thanks, the mileage is 65k, she has FSH but like you say if i get it all done now then im sure its been recently changed. Im not sure of the auto box oil has been done, im just assuming it has. Nope im not doing it myself, not that confident yet so im gonna get the info and give it to a friend who does my servicing and make sure he uses the correct oil etc. Just dont want to miss anything, the car really is immacualte and so deserves to be looked after! =) Thanks for the help!
  4. Ok im getting my moneys worth from here heh. So as well as the new wheels im after its service time on my new TT aerotop, only had a NA before so can someone give me a guide as to what needs doing and the oil needed etc? I believe its best to change the auto gerbox oil as well at the same time? If ppl can suggest the best oils to put it the car wherever it neeeds to go that would be grand! Thanks again!
  5. Thank you for the offer i appreciate it, im just going to buy some new ones although im not sure which ones. Its my first time ive ever been able to afford new alloys for a car! hahah. Are the ones at Halfords etc then are they generally known as not being very good ie sub standard materials or is it just the brand name you pay for? Bloody wheels.....damn you Supra for looking so nice with them!
  6. therye all the same size i think, so do the alloy widths have to match the tyres? is 235 front 255 rear etc?
  7. ive been shopping today and have been given a price of £850 for a set of Mak Matrix Mirror 235/17 all round with Yokohama A539 tyres on. Is that a good price at all? heres a link: http://www.edworthys.co.uk/product~ProdID~805443.htm#

  10. Hi All, i have a 94 TT Aerotop with standard wheels on, and its time for the MOT! But the wheels are so low they wont pass. Ive been looking to upgrade for a while now so nows a good time to get some new tyres with new alloys. Can anyone suggest any good alloys? Whats the best size? Ive heard anything over 17" and youre looking at a rough ride? Iv also been told its best to put wider ones on the back etc? what size 255s etc? on the front also?. Also where can i get them form the net? Or a local dealer would be better? As you can tell i have bo idea...ahem....so any advice you can give me would be great! I need to buy them ASAP to get th car through its test, ive got between 800-1000 to spend!. Any help would be great! thanks all. Foz.
  11. If youre ever willing to negotiate on price please let me know Lovely car....
  12. its defo not the brakes (erm i think) as the knocking is in time with the wheel eg every time the whel does a full circle theres a not so if i slow a little the knocking slows down to, i imagine if its the brake pads it would be rather erratic? Im not 100% sure though. Ive got a guy looking at it tomorrow, i hope he sorts it out! Cheers guys!
  13. ahh forgot to mention! i have actually changed the alloys on it also with other tyres, they came from another supra which drove ok, no wheel noises etc, but the knockings still there! so ive changed the wheels but the noise is still there, mmmm.
  14. Hi all, Ive just bought my first Supra! (Hoorah!) so you'll have to forgive me but im a supra newb! lol. The cars great but for one thing, once i reach speeds of about 50 mph and about 80 mph a knocking starts coming from the passenger rear side. The noise is in line with the motion of the wheel, eg if i slow down then the noise slows as well, but it only comes when i reach 50 and then again at about 80!?!? not inbetween! Any ideas?!?! the guy whoi bought it off said he hasnt used the car for so long (its done 2000 miles since nov 2002 according to the test sheets!) hes only done 200 miles since the last MOT. He took it to Kwikfit to get the wheels balanced for me before i picked it up and the tyre guy said it needed some new tyres cos three of them were egg shaped as its been stood for so long!?!?! Anyway he put it down to that...... Bugger hope he didnt see me coming! Though i did knock him down another £250, a black aerotop, seems mint, drives lovely (apart from this noise!) for less than £5500, is this ok? it seemes so at the time! hahah Any help you can give me guys would be great! thanks!
