Well there was a defo delay before the car decided to go anywhere, the revs shot up high, the car screamed but didnt really move, thats what made me think maybe somethings wrong with her?

No it was an old style one, not the new shape, it had had work outside so maybe theres also work happened underneath? who knows, was more concerned there was something at fault my the supe. Thanks for all the quick replys, gives me something to do during a steady spell at work! haha cheers all.

Ok i get all that but on the auto box if i dropped it down into Manual mode at 60mph, it would have to go into 2nd? Wouldnt this not be good for the car? Also would the overdrive button have helped at all? Doesnt that just increase the rev limit? Ive never really used that.

Nope, fair point and completely agree, i dont normally take that course of action (approaching 40 makes you think a little more wisely) and we werent racing as such at all and i usually gont get caught up in these type of things, were were sticking to the limit all the time. This car was just a little too close for comfort and so i thought theyre bound to just go by me so ill leave them to it, but then they did at the worst time? Anyhow, maybe its a good thing the car didnt speed up, and the little corsa just went on its way. I think i got sucked into the idea of a little teenager driver banging on about how hes 'blown off' this Supra in his 'l33t' Corsa to his pubescent mates.....ahem. I just thought mmm im not sure if that should happen when i push the pedal or not, thought it may be indication that there was something wrong, bless the little supe.

Yes the title is true and im not sure how, let me explain. Now dont get the wrong impression, i wasnt racing around the streets or anything. Me my girlfriend and my step daughter were in the car driving home from Leeds on sunday and i came off the motorway. I live a few miles from the motorway junction and shortly after turning off a Corsa with blacked out windows all round and a full bodykit was right up my back end for about 3 miles. It was starting to annoy me, he was far too close for comfort, but there he stayed no less than 5 meters from me all the time, i stuck to the speed limits not allowing myself to be goaded into something with a corsa and immature driver, this is all assumption as the windows were blacked out so couldnt actually see anything. Now the last road leading upto where i live is a long stretch about a mile long and a 60 mph limit. I thought hes going to overtake me on this stretch surely.....anyhow we get on this road and hes up my arse again all the way down it, were doing 60 and im approaching the roundabout at the end of this road on the mile stretch. Anyhow about a hundred yards from the roundabout, the fool decides to then pull out and overtake me!?!?!? WTF? I thought no way hes trying that here surely? Anyhow were both doing 60 and so i thought im not letting him do that and slammed my foot to the floor (maybe a little foolish given theres not much road left) But anyhow when i slammed my foot to the floor, the engine geared down as expected but the car didnt seem to go anywhere at all, as the revs were high the car changed gear (its an automatic TT too!! argh) but by the time all this had happened this little blacked out windowed Corsa just drifted by me......which left me feeling a little deflated.....i never thought any Corsa would come near a Supra? Maybe it was the timings of the change of the auto gearbox etc but it seemed my lovely Supe jsut didnt cut it at the time needed or maybe this is an indication that theres a problem with my car heh, i dunno. Can anyone shed some light on this, how would i tell if there is a problem with the turbos etc? Ive heard they take a while to spool but even at 60? God knows but theres a littlbe bloody Corsa giggling at a silver Supra around where i live! Ive got a MkIV TT Aerotop, completely standard. Also the next question is how on earth can i stop this happening again! hahah. Ive heard a BPU is the answer yes? Thanks all for your help.

Thanks for all the help people. Just spoke to my local car shop, they dont stock the Varta one, Halfords have a Calcium one at £82 and will fit it for a small charge. Looks like im off to Halfords at the weekend then! Thanks again! Foz

Hi all, My supra for a while has had trouble starting, it all happened not too long ago when the battery went dead as i left the lights on DOH! I left it on a charger but since then really the batterys been struggling. Does any have a recommended replacement as the one ive got on is foreign? Are there better than others batterys or are they all the same? i wanna make sure im putting the right one in for power and the hood closing etc. Thanks all. Foz.

Who are Sky or Endsleigh? Which one arent you happy with?

Hi all, My insurance renewals up at the end of march and so i got my quote through from Sky as thats who i was with before. Ive have a MKIV TT Aerotop 95. i have a driving ban, a claim (write off) and one speeding fine - erm that sounds bad but im not really a bad driver The quote from Sky came through at £693 (it was £710 the year before). So i went through the usual process of various websites, comparision websites etc etc and at all of these Endsleigh was coming out near the top and rather cheap, so i gave them a call. They've given me a price of £493, full comp, taken all the above into account on a group 19 car? (Is that the Supra insurance group?) with an excess of £250 on. Oh and im 35. Thats a bargain isnt it? - has anyone else had any dealings with Endsleigh Insurance? Are there claims process easy to work with if you need to claim? Sounds a little too cheap to be true really. Hi all, i desp need some new alloys with good tyres on, ive got the stock wheels on my MKIV TT Aerotop and im struggling to get any tyres for them now. Seems all the big name just dont make these tyre sizes anymore. All i can get are budget Marshal ones and i REFUSE to put that crap on! Any wheels pls with decent tyres get in touch! Thanks all. You dont actually need any software to make web site these days. With the new web 2.0 kicking around there are some online sites that give you all the tools to do the job online with no downloading. One of the best ones is this: http://www.moonfruit.com Theres LOADS of templates to choose from also its a very simple point and click interface, easy for first time users and looks very good (most things are done in Flash which give a very polished look) Last time i think they charged something like £20 a year or so, and you can use your own domain name to point to the website you build with their online software (very easy steps on the site, a simple one field change) They also have a very good support service so you can ask them if you have any problems. Give it a go and im sure you'll like it. Hope it helps! Foz.

Mmm well i rang they guy out of interest, he said we wouldnt take any less than the asking price of 14'995k for it. Said he'd imported it himself and it nearly cost him that much to do so. Said he also had partners in the east who worked for the company that had done the conversion. It was an audio/visual demo car that they used at shows to promote their work. Also said the interior cost 15k alone.....=) And yes youre right, its not a practical car just something that dosent look like a supra, suppose you could always sell the interior to another supra member who liked it......the problem is finding one!
