  1. Aerotop Dave has some good advice! We recently bought the freehold on our flat. Well, more precisely, we bought a share of the freehold by forming a company with the other flat owners. (It's called leasehold enfranchisement.) What a pain in the arse that was. The advantage of buying the freehold is that you can then write yourself a new lease... Which is what we did! Of course, barely months after buying the freehold we decided to sell up and we only just exchanged this weekend! So we're moving in a week!! Woohoo! Definitely worth offering 10% less. But my advice would be to get on the ladder as soon as you possibly can. If you can't afford your dream home, then just get whatever you can afford. The rungs on the ladder grow apart faster than salaries increase. At least, that's been my experience. So you're better off being on the ladder than off it, if you know what I mean.

    Rocky

Yeah, I've seen this before. Very funny. And at the risk of doubling the reposts here, you should also check out Rocky VI - Die or Retire. It's well amusing!
  3. I had an A500 too! Great machine. Bought a 52MB GVP hard disk for it (which was actually quite quiet!) and ugpraded to 3MB of RAM. Then bought the A1200 with a 120MB hard disk and 2MB of RAM. Sadly I sold them both to fund the upgrade of my 386 to a 486. (I was still at school so didn't have much spare cash... Working Saturdays in a cafe washing up didn't pay all that well!) But now I have another A500 (still looking for a hard disk) and another A1200, all courtesy of Ebay. In fact, I bought an A1200 with 030 accelerator, CDROM and a box load of CDs for £30 in a car boot sale about two years ago. I sold it a week later on Ebay for nearly £200!! My fav games on the Amiga: Xenon 2, Megalomania, F/A-18 Interceptor, Silent Service II. BTW, WinUAE is the defacto standard emulator for Amigas on the PC. It's pretty good and runs most stuff... And it all loads much quicker than it did on the Amigas.
  4. Bummer, I'm really confused then! This thread is called 'pics for 2006 calendar' and is started by supragal. And there don't appear to be any rules on the first page of *this* thread since it seems to have been chopped at some stage. I also found this thread, but it links back to here!??? (P.S. The pics are both my car. It's just the funky red one has been photoshopped a little!)
  5. How about this one? I'm saving for the paint job! http://www.just2good.co.uk/supra/awesomeSupeM.jpg http://www.just2good.co.uk/supra/supraMotion2M.jpg
  6. I've taken some more pics!! I was going for the modern 'Bayview' look in the long-exposure night shots.
  7. Finally put on the brake decals from Gordon. Doesn't look too bad.
  8. I couldn't be arsed to take the Internet test. But I did the Mensa test a few years back and I'm now sadly a member with IQ of 174. Yet I'm a muppet with no common sense... Go figure.
  9. I agree with Carl0s. LCD screens have a 'native' resolution. If your graphics card is set to anything other than this resolution, the display device has to interpolate the image data which makes the screen go fuzzy.
  10. I've got a load of pics here, in case anyone is interested. Again, no Supes. I got a load of Supes last month and wanted to get some different motors this time. Sorry guys.
  11. Is that the ownder of red FTO? Next time, we'll know to let his tyres down! Edit: Some people may not have realised that I was joking!! So just in case...
  12. Thanks for all your positive comments guys. I shall try to convince her to come along to future events! Which reminds me... Did someone say there was a Reading meet tomorrow? I never know when these are on.
  13. Just wanted to make this clear... It was my car that slowly crossed the track just when Matt Harwood's Supra was storming up the strip. I had let my missus have a go in the car and I think she got a bit carried away and suddenly tried to cross the strip without checking if anything was coming. She is really upset about the whole thing and quite shaken up. She now says she's never coming to one of these events again. My sincerest apologies to Matt. I'm really sorry to have given you a fright. Nowt to do with MaxGT!
  14. Cornimac, I have space for your vids. Will PM you with the FTP details when I get back home this evening.
  15. I remember seeing a couple at a Shell station.
  16. Perhaps some people just forgot to pay? Nobody asked me for payment so I made sure I paid James before I left on the day. It's conceivable that a lot of people would have just forgotten with the excitement of the day. I would hope that members of the Supra community wouldn't try and screw James out of £20 on purpose after such a great day out.
  17. Those are great wheels Ray's got! I want a set! What are they?
  18. There are good times to let your missus have a go in the Supe... And then again there are bad times!
  19. This is just brilliant!
  20. Oh yeah... Driving Slowdog's Scooby was a riot! I suddenly found myself unbeatable in early free-for-all drags! Never thought I'd like driving a Scooby and I'm a little sad to find that I preferred it to driving my Supa. Perhaps it's because it's manual and I could get a better launch than with my laggy stock TT auto?
  21. Brilliant day! Thanks James and Sabrina! Good to put some more faces to the names and good to see some cars in the flesh that I've only seen before in mags. Drifting and dragging rocks. Never drifted before (well, not on purpose anyway!) and never tried wheel-spinning launches before on my auto. I've always been far too conscious of the expense to my tyres. I'm so envious of those people who can afford to go through three sets of tyres in a day.
