  1. Well, Christmas is the time for giving and you'll be giving to your Supra! Please PM me to discuss.
  2. I believe that removing the edge defects and repolishing comes to something like £50 per wheel. Given that any purchaser will most likely want to do this, I'll reduce the asking price to £900. The car hasn't been lowered at all. I'm not sure what you were saying about the gap??
  3. The only problem with the DNA fingerprint is that they generally need a suspect to match it to. The UK database only contains about 2 million people and in about 60% of cases, there is no match to the database. On the other hand, my information is old (back to university days), so things might be a bit better now.
  4. I get this nightmare too! Fortunately haven't done this IRL for about 12 months.
  5. Thanks Peter. Praise indeed from the man with the most pristine car EVER. I've only had one 'maybe' PM. Everyone too hard up after Christmas? Go on, give your Supra some shiny rims!
  6. On the other hand, there are those that believe that putting a bleed valve in a Supra is a heinous crime. My Supe had a bleed hose fitted when I bought it. I was advised to remove it... So I did. (I actually gave it away as a 'bonus' in an Ebay auction; I was feeling guilty for selling an HKS mushroom for way more than it should have sold for.)
  7. Here's mine... I was quite into weight training as a student. Creatine had just hit the market and was seriously expensive stuff (about £30 for a small tub). I went down the GNC store and found that they were selling two tubs for the price of one. Woohoo. So I bought the twin pack and went back to my student home where all my house mates were hanging out. The two tubs were wrapped in a plastic sheath. Rather than get the scissors out, I thought, "Hmm, I'll just puncture this plastic by jamming my thumb into it." The next thing I know, my thumb is dislocated severely and is poking out at a very peculiar angle. I slapped my thumb hard with the other hand and it went back in with a satisfying pop. One of my house mates fainted. I was in so much pain I couldn't do any exercise for the next three weeks.
  8. Interesting post from "Mr I'm going to leave my car stock forever." I'm joining the BPU club too and expect to be a fully-fledged member in a week or so! I was going to go with IK22 plugs, although Paul reckons IK24s are fine up to 1.2 bar and not to bother with the colder ones. (I'm obviously bowing down to his superior knowledge.) I'm having a stupid moment which clearly demonstrates how I don't understand these things... If you're restricted to one bar by the ring, how do you increase the air flow into the turbo to actually get it to boost higher (to 1.2 bar)? If you do plan on those 'spirited moments', I would heartily recommend upgrading to the FMIC. Homer also suggested getting the fuel filter cleaned before going BPU, so I'm getting that done too. Anyhow, I'm sure more knowledgable people will come along and inform you that I'm talking poo. Happy New Year, BTW!
  9. I have no problem with Saxos per se. It's just the inappropriately modded ones driven by chavs that irritate me.
  10. Blimey, you're right! I'll have to go and rip mine off the moment I get the car back!
  11. The usual Ebay shed here. Thought you lot might find it amusing. He says he would swap for a Skyline, but "no other offers". Perhaps he might be swayed by a Supra? I'm sure you all, like me, would much rather have a Barried Saxo with "LARGE FULLY ADJUSTABLE REAR SPOILER" and "UPRATED POWER STEERING WIRING". "You are bidding on a modified saxo which has had no end of work done to it to make it stand out from the crowd, literally snaps heads!" Literally! Heads just spontaneously snap whenever he drives past. Presumably the poor dead owner's head then rolls down the road. He must be wanted for multiple homicide. Apologies for the lameness of this post. My missus is watching some sort of gardening program on the TV...
  12. You should have gone with Blazing Saddles.
  13. Funnily enough, I think this was my first comment to you also! Always did like the Kahns...
  14. Thanks Ray. You did miss the thread... Here it is.
  15. Yeah, lucky I've got the other set, but not so lucky that they only stayed pristine for a week before they got motorbiked. Grr. As for the turbo work... They've been p1ssing oil out the BOV since I bought the car over a year ago. Opinions seem to vary on how much of a problem this is. However, when Paul showed me the oil welling up in various engine pipes, I was encouraged to replace the turbos at the earliest opportunity! (And I wanted an excuse to go hybrid.) P.S. I liked your old avatar more, James.
  16. I recently bought an ATI X800 GTO and it really is impressive... Much better than I expected. I reckon this can't wont be obsolete for 12-18 months!! I started doing some performance benchmarks with 3DMark 2005 on my forum here, and the X800 GTO is clearly whipping the 6600GT. (The good thing about this benchmark is that the 3DMark results are almost totally dependent on the graphics card; the contribution of the CPU is minor.) If anyone else wants to contribute some scores, please feel free.
  17. Would be up for this, but I seriously doubt my car will be ready.
  18. Oh yeah, should have included pics of the rims on the car...
  19. You guys should count yourself lucky. He's got my whole CAR. On the other hand, it is Christmas and all that. Bah humbug.
  20. Due to some unplanned turbo work on my Supra, I find myself needing to restore cash flow. As a result, I'm selling my pride and joy... My summer wheels. Ask anyone who's seen these wheels: they're awesome. Photos just don't do them justice. The first thing anyone says when they see my car is, "Nice wheels." http://www.just2good.co.uk/supra/chromes/chromeRims1med.jpg So, I have for sale a set of 18" TrafficStar DTS (3 part, split-rim) chrome wheels, including tyres. These were nearly £3500 when new and are extremely rare in this country. In fact, aside from the set Richard Hammond (Top Gear) had imported from Japan for his Dodge, I believe this is the only other set in the UK. Okay, here's the vitals... Front: 18 x 8.5 (offset +36), with 245/40 ZR18 Rear: 18 x 10.5 (offset +41), with 275/35 ZR18 5 stud pattern, PCD 114.3. The tyres are all Dunlop SP Sport 9000. Two of the tyres are like new with nearly full tread. (See attached pictures). One of the tyres is part warn (even) but still plenty of tread. The fourth tyre is well-warn and will probably need replacing soon. All the rims have suffered some curbing (by the previous owner), but since the circumferance is polished steel, the curbing can easily be polished out / repaired. One of the rims has suffered some nasty chrome tarnishing around the hub. I've included a close-up picture so you can see the extent of the tarnishing. (It's not bad - you have to be close up to see it.) This was caused by the previous owner attempting to clean the wheels with "Wonder Wheels", an acidic product that is renowned for damaging chrome rims. (Muppet.) The wheels include chrome valves and locking nuts. As already mentioned, these are 18-inch wheels. IMHO, this is the perfect balance between handling and style on the Supra. However, the deep dishes on these chromes give the impression that they are larger. Onlookers are usually of the opinion that these are 19 or 20-inch wheels. Was originally asking for £1000 ONO. Price now reduced to £800. Come on guys, these wheels were three and a half grand new!!
  21. Blimey, Coronation Street has changed a bit since I was subjected to it years ago...
  22. I want one! Amazon link not working. Grr.
