  1. Doug (Class One) was telling me about his ETTC. He says on a long cruise (i.e. below 3500 rpm), he gets an extra 100 miles out of a tank!! That's a good enough reason for me to do it. Just don't flick the switch with your foot down.
  2. Stock tubbies will handle 1.2 bar, but potentially not for very long. That said, some here have run stock tubbies at 1.2 bar for quite a long time. If they pop in a year's time, you'll have a perfect excuse to go hybrids!
  3. Don't worry Sarjo... We won't guzump you! (Gamer, I'll pay you ONE MILLION dollars for these. Or maybe not!)
  4. I think you're right James. I've just had a look at my engine photos before it went to MaxGT, and it had a battery holder. Now it doesn't?!
  5. Okay, thanks. My battery doesn't have a holder at all. Is that normal?
  6. Potential quality issues aside, this seems like a bargain to me! It cost me that much just to get pipes made up for my FMIC.
  7. If Sarjo doesn't want it, I'll take the fuse box cover. Also, do you have a photo of your battery cover, so we can see how it looks with the scratch? And does it include the chrome-effect battery restraint as shown in James' picture?
  8. My wife thinks Evos look much better than Supras!! I just don't get it... Women like Scoobies and Evos; blokes like Supras and RX-7s. Mostly.
  9. Try using petrol instead of kangaroo juice?
  10. ... drive Scoobies? Not intending to be sexist, but the vast majority of Supra drivers are male. Yet in the last week I've seen probably a dozen Scoobies, and over half were driven by women.
  11. You people have too much time on your hands.
  12. BTW, I've checked with Turbo Dynamics... They're definitely hybrids.
  13. What, the scratch on the spoke? Really?
  14. Nothing mate. No proof of blame either way, and minimal damage all round, so we decided to just drop it. Although that still leaves me with a nasty scratch on one of my spokes. I never expected anyone to say that. I suppose I'm gonna have to take that out of my sig now.
  15. I would post up, but I don't have a scanner, and it seems one of my new rabbits has chewed through the digi camera USB lead!
  16. Went to the Surrey Rolling Road this evening to find out how much extra bhp I've got for all my hard earned cash. I made 315 at wheels. With estimated drivetrain losses on an auto of 25%, I make that ~420FWHP. Not bad I suppose... Nearly 100bhp more than I used to have when stock. I do seem to be running a bit lean at medium revs, just when #2 comes on. From about 4000 to 5000 revs, my AFR rises to about 12.8. Then it drops again over 5000 revs at between 11.8 and 11.5. I'm curious as to what could be causing this... Poor response by the FSE? I thought maybe the injectors were maxing out, but then I'd expect the AFR to high at max BHP, not in the middle of the graph. Hmmm. In case anyone is interested, I also did a run with my Nur Spec removal silencer put back in. (I need it for the headaches!!) With the silencer, I was getting 305 bhp RWHP and hitting 1.1 bar intead of 1.2. So: removal silencer = 10 bhp loss. Acceptable.
  17. It was rather cold, but not quite arctic. I guess that would account for a slight overboost, but to go from around 1.2 to 1.4 (actually, closer to 1.1 to 1.4 with my silencer in) and to see #1 underboosting is just all too much. I'm fairly convinced it's a hose or valve problem now... Not that I know anything!!
  18. Thanks Ian. I know roughly where the turbos are buried, so presumably getting to this feed is a bit tricky for a rank amateur like myself? The problem seems intermittent as it was boosting normally again today. I'll put this on my list of stuff to sort out! Until I get it sorted, will an occasional blast at 1.4 bar do any damage to my car? I'm currently running stage 1 hybrids.
  19. Are valve problems easy to diagnose / fix?
  20. And I guess, if it was a sticky valve, that would explain why it doesn't happen every time.
  21. Actually, I'm pretty sure the exhaust sounds quite a bit louder?? Interesting.
