  1. Damn, these are all so good. Wish I had that kind of skill...
  2. Thanks John. The plate is now sold to npotts.
  3. No worries. To close the deal, £175 + transfer fee. I want to shift it because I'm purchasing a new plate from Northern Ireland. I can't put the NI plate on retention so it's gotta go straight on my car.
  4. Erm, like it says in the post (the first six characters in fact): NAP 36W.
  5. NAP 36W. I need a quick sale, so selling for the bargain price of £200, plus registration transfer fee. Createyourplate.com valued the plate at £1100 and regtransfers.com at £1300. I have advertised the plate with both companies for much less, but no takers. Since I want to get rid of it ASAP, I'm radically dropping the price. NAP anyone? Know anyone that it would suit?
  6. Holy crap! Looks like my Supra from the front, but I need that plate!! Does this look legit to everyone?
  7. Better than I was expecting... Although my expectations were not very high. Very predictable and I agree completely with hogmaw's comments about the American muscle approach. Don't get me wrong... I like American muscle cars, but I found this angle a bit annoying in the movie. Coming out the cinema I felt an overwhelming need to demonstrate a Supra drift to a friend of mine in a quiet part of the car park. It's so much fun. What's happening to me??!
  8. It's always nice to see two Jap TTs hanging together in the car park. Welcome aboard matey.
  9. Come on, own up. Who parked their Supe right next to mine tonight? (Ehem... I was watching Tokyo Drift. I have no shame.)
  10. Nice to see you all again. I've posted up some pics at my forum here. Sorry it's taken so long. I've been having broadband troubles. (Blasted BT...)
  11. Silver Supra, parked in Warfield just around the corner from me. Anyone here?
  12. Martin is a top geezer. He gave me free haribo! This had me in fits of uncontrollable laughter for the last five minutes. It took me a couple of minutes with the 'three legged greyhound' clue, but then it all made sense. I'm starting to wonder if my engine is also powered by haribo. Funniest post I've come across to date.
  13. I have a black belt in Shotokan karate and used to be an instructor for a university club, and then occasionally for a club local to me. I also have a black belt in a style of karate called Phoenix, which no one has ever heard of because there were only ever two clubs in the world... One in Paris and one in Weston-super-Mare (where I used to live). Neither club exists any more. I've also done jujitsu, tae kwon do and shorinji kempo. I'd rate jujitsu and kempo as good real combat martial arts. Karate is great for technique, fitness and discipline with approximately a 50:50 split between punching and kicks. Tae kwon do is much more heavily biased towards kicking, but technique is generally lacking. Before you all jump down my throat about the flagrant sweeping statement about tae kwon do, I should point out that it doesn't really matter what martial art you do... If you have a good instructor, you will generally be a good student. It just so happens that tae kwon do instructors *tend* to not place much emphasis on technique! I don't do any martial arts any more because the pull of the sofa is much stronger.
  14. Well, that's true. (You are a girl.) I like it too... It's especially nice having a car with working air conditioning. Neil, the problem with the classic is that the servicing costs are roughly double the bugeye. And I bought this particular bugeye because of the Morrette headlight conversion which makes the ugly car.... Slightly less ugly. Let's be honest: noone buys a Scooby for their looks. I can now understand why people rave about them so much. (OMG, if I don't repent soon I might turn into a chav.) And I think I'd be hardpressed to find a classic with such low mileage.
  15. Interesting combo? I think the word you were looking for is 'hideous'.
  16. You could be right. Or may, just a bit more driving skill! (Nice avatar Sabrina. A shame it's so small.) Right, here are the pics... (Gold wheels on a blue car? I think I might have to do something about that.)
  17. Cheers James. I'll post up pictures once I've cleaned it! Performance-wise, it's currently a stock WRX except for a Prodrive exhaust. So I'd guess at 230-235bhp. I don't know anything about Scoobies, but if I'm right in thinking that it has two cats, I'll probably take out one and add a dump valve ('cause the missus and I love that sound on the Supra). Otherwise, we'll probably leave it stock, as this will be the runaround car for the missus and I don't want it to have silly power. I've been out in it again this morning and now I'm feeling a little sad. With the Scooby, I can plant my foot to the floor going around bends and roundabouts with confidence. In the Supra, I never do this as I'm afraid I'll end up facing the wrong way. (I pretty much only ever plant the Supra when going completely straight.) I wish I could drive the Supra with the same confidence I drive the Scooby... And I've only had it one day!
  18. Agreed: for a nooby, a bloaty IDE is better. Hence why I said, "if you're comfortable editing yout HTML and PHP by hand..." Personally, I don't like Dreamweaver and I like Frontpage even less. But it's all subjective and depends on what you're used to.
  19. ... an Impreza!! But the good news is that this is replacing the Rover as our second car, so the Supra stays... OF COURSE! I wanted a fast Japanese car that my wife would be able to handle. The Supra is too much for her, but the Scooby seems just right. It's a 2001 WRX in navy blue with just 27K miles. Yep, it's ugly, but it goes pretty well, especially round the 'bouts. Having now driven a Scooby for a few hours really makes me appreciate just how fast a BPU Supra is. The Scooby feels so tame in comparison! I hope I haven't lost too many friends posting this here.
  20. If you don't want the nasty bloatware of Dreamweaver and you're comfortable editing yout HTML and PHP by hand, then Textpad (from http://www.textpad.com) is a great tool. It takes care of syntax hilighting and formatting and supports several standard 'languages' (such as PHP, HTML, Javascript) straight out of the box. And if you want to code with anything more obscure, you can just download the syntax definition files from their website for free.
  21. Darryl, there's a Tesco in Warfield that sells it.
