  1. Just passing through... I do love those Kahns!
  2. Is that a 4-inch muffler? How come you're selling?
  3. I've just bought a car with a Do-Luck nosecone on Eibach springs. It's too damn low for me, so I'm going to back to stock springs!
  4. I'll have a full set of Eibachs available in a couple of weeks, if you're interested.
  5. Oops, I forgot the TRD. I've added it to the list above.
  6. Well, this is my shortlist so far, together with some notes compiled from this and various other threads... * Tanabe Super Medallion Touring Probably the quiestest, very little restriction, but maybe sounds too mild? * Tanabe Super Mediallion Hyper Louder than the Touring but quieter than the Racing; possibly a good compromise, but this exhaust is a bit of an unknown. The silencer does look nice and chunky though. I've still yet to find anyone that actually has one. * Blitz Nur RX Definitely a lot quieter than the Nur, but I've been told it's quite restrictive (?) and hangs very low. On the other hand, I had a Nur Type R on my old car and that wasn't too low. Is this one lower? * HKS SuperDragger Sounds fairly stock-ish, but still quite meaty. Again, I'm told one of the mountings can hang very low. Also, unless you get a 2006 or newer one, they rust to pieces within a few years. (Only the new ones are SS.) * GReddy Ti-R Don't really know much about this, except Nic likes 'em and it does sound quite nice, if the sound clip is anything to go by. I think it's got a nicer tone that the Nur RX and is less 'droney'. * TRD Exhaust Don't know too much about this one either, but I'm told it's quiet. And it's TRD... Can't be bad, right? I've also read posts where people have changed exhausts on decatted cars and subsequently lost loads of boost. Am I likely to find this problem, or is this a non-issue with the boost controller? (I have noticed a drop in boost with the removable baffle in, even with the boost controller set to 1.4 bar.) Will changing from a 4-inch BL to a 3-inch (like all of the above are) have any significant effect? Could it potentially mean remapping?
  7. Actually, I did notice it the other day. Is it a cat-back straight-through exhaust? Someone suggested to me that it might be a bit too restrictive?
  8. I've been told it is, but I would like to know what others think too. I've had a Nur Spec Type R in the past and it is a very loud exhaust. (And yet another one that gives me a headache on the motorway.) But it doesn't sound anywhere near as loud or as nice as the BL.
  9. Aye, sorry, I was talking about the backbox exit. The reason I was asking about the size of the exit was because I was thinking a removable silencer/baffle might be portable between different exhausts, assuming the exit was the same size. But now I'm thinking running with the silencer might be a bad move... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=130362.
  10. Well, in the very short-term, you can always do the TTC conversion yourself without all the supporting modifications, just to see if you like how it sounds and get a general idea of the 'feel' of it. If you like it, you can get it done properly in the future and just swap it back to sequential in the meantime. And it only takes about 10 minutes to do. I even did it myself once, and as anyone can testify: if I can do it, anyone can!
  11. I've just taken ownership of a big single with a Boostlogic exhaust. It sounds awesome, but it's too loud for me on motorway cruising, as I suffer from migraines. It's acceptable with the baffle, but I hear that using a baffle for prolonged periods on high-boost cars can cause overheating and increased det. Plus, it costs me about 0.1 bar of boost or more. So, I've been looking at quieter exhausts. What I want is something that is quiet on motorway cruising, but still sounds nice and meaty round town. I'm not sure if such a thing exists. I was looking at the Tanabe Touring, which is supposed to be the quietest, but I'm worried it will sound too 'stock', even with the single setup. I'm also looking at the SuperDragger, but I've been advised by Phoenix that they do hang quite low, and I have enough trouble with speed bumps. I was wondering if the Tanabe Super Medalion Hyper Spec (the 'street performance' one) would be a good compromise, as the silencer looks pretty large still. Has anyone got the Tanabe SM Hyper? Has anyone ever compared it to the Touring? How do these compare to the SuperDragger? And is a SuperDragger without a baffle (the removable type) quieter than a BL with a baffle in? Thanks in advance!
  12. Interestingly enough, I've just bought a Supra with a 5" Boostlogic exhaust. It sounds absolutely awesome. There's just one problem: I suffer with regular migraines and the noise is just too loud on motorway journeys. So I've been thinking about changing it. The SuperDragger was actually one of the exhausts I was thinking about changing it for. Is yours the later stainless steel one? And is it 4" or 5"? I was thinking that if you're serious about getting a Boostlogic, then perhaps we might come to an arrangement. I'm not 100% sure I want to get rid of the BL yet, but I thought it was probably worth voicing the idea...
  13. I have some for sale. The wheels are in pretty good condition, but the rear tyres dont have much life left in them. The only problem is I can't let them go until my new wheels arrive from Japan, which could be 5 or 6 weeks.
  14. BTW Dave, it's CW pads that are currently on that car.
  15. Has anyone got a stock rad cap I could have? (Not a 1.3 bar one.)
  16. Yay, I've just ordered a set of SA-70TT DPTs in SBC (super bright chrome) from Nic. I reckon they're gonna look great on the car.
  17. Nice job guys! And that's great service to get everything done in a day.
  18. How about... "It's all gravy, baby." Another thing that winds me up EVERY DAY is a colleague at work who says, "Afternoon!" when I arrive in the morning, just because he gets in before me. (It's not like I turn up late; I'm always in before 8am.)
  19. To be frank, the difference is astounding. My biggest worry was that the T67 would be really laggy compared with the sequential setup. So I was startled to find that if anything, the T67dbb is actually *less* laggy than the sequentials! Of course, this could be because I've changed from an auto to a manual. But the power-on-demand is unbelievable. So long as I'm in the right gear, I seem to get nearly instantaneous boost. Of course, my hybrids were only 1.2 bar, and you're running more than that. But the power increase is absolutely phenominal. Even when I set the boost controller down to 1 bar, the car feels so much stronger and faster than my hybrids did at 1.2. The whole thing has been quite a shock. A pleasant one though.
  20. Yep, the price is fine, and I'm of the opinion that the black Supras are fetching a bit more than the silvers.
  21. Yay, I've been spotted in my new car! The first one was me. The car used to be Homer's. It wont have the 17-inch OEMs for long, as I've just ordered a set of Weds SA-70TTs from Nic... Can't wait!
  22. Mine arrived today, thanks. Slightly bent, but easily straightened.
  23. Thanks guys. I do love the look of the black carbon fibre (and I think it will look great on a black car), but given my other car expenditure over the next couple of months, I think I'll go with the cheaper polished metal one.
