That makes no sense at all! If you want even more confusion, you should see his vbGarage. I get the impression he must keep chaff and ILS receivers in his VS wing... assuming he has a Veilside wing.

Looks better now Dave, although I think it will take some getting used to! I didn't like it naked though! P.S. You should have cleaned the wheels before taking the "after" photo!

I think I'm gonna make a calendar entry to resurrect this in a year's time, if nobody else does first. It should be compulsory viewing for any new owner.

On my old Supra, I had Dunlop SP Sports all round when I bought it. It always felt horrendously slack and seemed to slide all the time. Even taking a shallow arc to go around a mini roundabout (in the wet or dry) seemed to be a dangerous maneouvre. I always thought that was just how Supras handled. Then, when the tyres needed replacing, I put Eagle F1s all around. The difference was just incredible. After that, the car just seemed to be glued to the ground. Since then, I've never underestimated the difference in tyre manufacturer, and I'd never use anything other than Eagles from here on in.

That is a lovely looking car. I wish I wasn't so poor. -
Does any body know the make and model of this car?

That looks like Eric Wimp's car. -
Rear wing question, possible for sale item as well.
Dash Rendar replied to DaveSupTT's topic in Supra Chat
Just in case you do sell it Dave, there are some good selling points for your particular wing... 1) The fading on the carbon-fibre section is very minor compared to any other Veilside wings I've come across. Some seem to have gone a bit orange in the sun, whereas yours has clearly had regular waxing. 2) Most VS wings have panels on each end, whereas yours is perfectly blended and therefore more attractive; 3) The silver / fibre-glass combination makes the wing look sleeker than a solid colour. I've got some pics, though they're a little old. (Let me know if you want them removed.) P.S. I like the TRD too. -
Matt, it seems everytime I stumble across one of your threads, you've had yet more bad luck. I feel for you. And the amount of money some of you guys end up paying really scares the life out of me. I'm also amazed that garages will charge an arm and a leg for incomplete and/or shoddy work on what is - let's face it - a fairly high profile Supra. It happens time and time again. These places must know there is a large Supra community, yet they dont seem to consider the long-term implications for their own business when they let crap like this happen. Surely these businesses can't be so blind as to believe news about a poor job wont spread like wild fire. On a different note... I've yet to find Matt overly annoying in any thread of his that I've stumbled across. I must be missing something. Maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough.

At this rate, mkiv SOC will soon be replaced by the T67dbb SOC. Nice work. It looks lovely. I see you wanted it nice and quiet too.

No matter what you think about the movies, you can't ignore the fact that the first movie immortalised the Gospel According to Supra: 2JZ... will decimate all.

It's actually just occured to me that if I were to drive to my destinations using the forward gears, I wouldn't have to spend quite so much time straining my neck. Problem is... I keep having to take out the gear box and 'tweak' it whenever I want to use the forward gears, as it 'defaults' to reverse. (Which is amazing as I dont know how to take out a gear box.) If only those clever Toyota people had also thought of a way of changing the gears from INSIDE the car. Hmmm... maybe I could make lots of money inventing such a thing. I'M GONNA BE RICH! MWA HA HA HA.

A rear view mirror, you say? Perhaps someone could post up a picture of what such a thing looks like?

I can't believe I've never seen this thread before. Ed, just what percentage of your 15000 posts had you contributed before you asked this question? On a related note, I keep having to look out the back window to see if there are any cars behind me while I'm driving? Does anyone know if there's any sort of gadget in the car that might facilitate such rear viewing?

Hey Franko, the Rhino balls certainly were great! My first ever reactive ball was a Rhino Pro in Teal. The first time I bowled with it was in a tournament at Acocks Green, which I believe was the Midland Junior Open. I bowled my first 600 series there and it was also my first major tournament win. (Sorry, that was a lot of firsts!)Course, that was when I was about 15... Oh my God... I'm double that age now! I liked that ball so much I ended up having three of them. Alas, they're a bit tame compared to modern balls in terms of coverstock and flare potential. That said, my 290 games have both been bowled using a Rhino Pro and I've never managed a better game with a 'modern' ball. I have a tip that my help for your thumb-swelling problem. I have the same issue. Get your thumb hole drilled fractionally too big, and then pack out with white tape at the front of the hole (where the pad of your thumb sits) when your thumb is cold. Use as many pieces as required. As your thumb starts to swell, just start removing the white tape until it's comfortable again. If your thumb swells so much that you stick at the back and the sides, then use BLACK tape at the back and sides as required, as it's very smooth and will aid your release. (And it's very thin, so it wont pack out like white tape does.) Hopefully you wont need those skin patches again!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Gav. Your handicap sounds like it's gone up a lot, if you were previously bowling to a 160 average. Bummer. Have you just switched to fingertip? That'll typically set you back 20 pins a game for maybe 12 months. Personally, I wouldn't recommend forcing it or trying to crank it, though I can certainly sympathise if you've got no backend. At my local bowl, there's been no backend for the last three months as the old machine wasn't stripping, and that's really dented my average... I've gone down about 15 pins in that time. They've just bought a new machine and the lanes are much better again. I'm averaging over 200 since the new machine arrived, but then again... I haven't exactly had many games with it yet! I'm always happy to lend pointers.

I guess you've all had enough of bowling already!

Sorry to resurrect a really old thread, but I've just posted up some YouTube videos that might be instructional to anyone interested in the sport. This is the first time I've ever tried to post up any videos anywhere. I think the quality isn't too bad, considering it's from a phone. (Make sure you switch to 'high quality' in YouTube.) I've added some instructional comments to go with the videos that may help any intermediate or near-intermediate players improve their game. The links are here: Part 1 Part 2 (This is the best one, I think.) Part 3 I would have put them into one long video, but my mobile kept timing out, and VirtualDub simply refused to stitch them together. Any comments welcome!

This happened to me once on the M4. I fear the motorway hard shoulders are littered with Nur Spec baffles.

There's a Super Dragger up for sale here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=152113. Relatively quiet, and not too restrictive. Great all round exhaust...
