  1. I'm not really interested in getting them re-chromed. I don't want to waste more money than I already have. That seems to be what I'm good at. A long lasting black paint job now sounds much more appealing. It's a shame... Not a single bit of curbing on these. If it wasn't for the chrome coming off, you could be forgiven for thinking they were still new.
  2. I have PM'd Nic asking him what the deal is with Weds. That was nearly two weeks back, but it has been Christmas, so maybe he's on holiday? Thanks for the info about your wheels. That's quite encouraging, and further confirms my suspicions that these wheels simply aren't of satisfactory quality for the money. I presume there is some sort of warranty... but it's all in Japanese! As for the damage, if you look at the pictures immediately below "Here are some pics of what they look like now...", you'll see that the spoke in the middle of the picture has lost all the chrome from about half way along the spoke. The rest of the spoke is a strange blue-metal colour.
  3. I bought a set of Weds SA70TT wheels in chrome from Nic a little over a year ago. They arrived mid-Jan this year, and that's when I put them on the car. I was in two minds as to whether to buy chromes, but I was advised that any decent chrome rims, if properly treated (i.e. regularly washed and sealed) should last a good few years, even in the British climate. This is what they looked like when they arrived... http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/wedsWheels/weds1.jpg And this is them on the car (photos taken on my birthday in April!)... http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/060478/side2.jpg http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/060478/rearWheel1.jpg http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/060478/frontRight3.jpg Unfortunately, now (some 10-11 months after fitting them to the car), the chrome has begun flaking off. This is despite washing the wheels religiously every week (or sooner after driving through any salt), and sealing them with JetSeal109, as recommeded by various detailers, and despite only driving about 3-4K miles on them! Here are some pics of what they look like now... http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/wedsWheels/chromeFlaking2.jpg http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/wedsWheels/chromeFlaking3.jpg http://supra.just2good.co.uk/myBlackSingle/wedsWheels/chromeFlaking4.jpg Obviously, I'm completely gutted that wheels which cost me two grand (without the rubber) have already started to lose the chrome. I'm guessing they're going to get a lot worse very soon. I wanted to post this up, as I've had a LOT of people PM'ing me and asking me about these wheels over the last year or so. I would certainly warn anyone thinking about buying chrome wheels from Weds to think again. The quality obviously doesn't match the price. I was thinking about having the wheels painted black once they start to look bad. I would have the whole wheel painted black except for the polished alloy dishes and the centre caps. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm guessing this would have to be done by a specialist? Are there any Photoshoppers out there with some spare time that would like to have a go and doing a mock-up for me?
  4. Which just goes to prove how useless my brain is... I've already commented on the other thread! Senile by 30...
  5. For considering a serious matter about banning members as a 'game'.
  6. Yeah, it seemed like a funny idea at the time, but I promise not to do it again. (I think the Mods have taken to summary deleted Ken threads anyway!)
  7. ... for contributing above and beyond the call of duty in this thread.
  8. Yes, rubbish indeed. But the silver Golf with pink wheels has to be the worst thing I've seen in a long, long time.
  9. Good point! I'm still my single on J Spec brakes. Come on lucky scratch card!
  10. Dash Rendar

    Nice rear

Wish I could my intercooler looking so clean and shiney! Maybe the mesh was a bad idea...
  11. I like the 'regular' TRD spoiler. But I don't like *that* spoiler, so I have to agree with the consensus here... Take it off!
  12. Does anyone remember that guy who thought he'd designed the ultimate turbo, by plumbing his exhaust manifold directly into the inlet manifold? That was pretty funny...
  13. Job done! When can we rename this board the Ken Block Linkathon?
  14. Well, it sure is a nice brick. If you put 4WD on it...
  15. ... to an awesome driving video, where this bloke called Stan Brick (or something like that) drives a Scoobie around some cones and stuff? I did a search, but I can't find it. Maybe someone might post it up for me?
  16. I couldn't afford a chip, but I found a well-placed potato helped a lot.
  17. Way too much time on your hands! So, who's this Ken Block geezer, and why has nobody posted anything about him before?
  18. I was driving behind you this morning on the way to work. Looking good! Damn, black Supras sure do look sleek and menacing. It's nice to see one from the outside for a change.
  19. I think the problem with the competitions is that some people don't even bother to bring a guitar with them. They think they can just do the moves without one! To stand a fighting chance, you do need a decent air guitar... like mine.
  20. Yes, I remember having the same issue with Elephant a few years back, which is why I switched to Sky. They're a bit crafty...
  21. Hi all. I have for sale an Nvidia GeForce 8600GT PCI-Express 512MB (DDR3) card. It has dual output, DVI and VGA, and includes an additional DVI-VGA adapter, and an S-Video (HDTV) cable. It supports SLI (so you can double up the power by adding another card). It also comes with software (obviously). In Tom's VGA chart (using the 2008 Q3 chart), it rates at 4913 on the 3DMark06 score, although that's with the 256MB version. I looked up a couple of comparisons for people at work, and in the same chart, the Nvidia 6600GT rates at 1519, while the ATI HD 2400 Pro rates at 1490. I'm looking for £50, including postage.
  22. No stand! You drive too hard a bargain. As for tuning, I forgot to mention mine has a floating bridge, and these usually make tuning tricky. But I find mine really easy to tune, and it holds tune very well. Though some serious whammy action (e.g. dive bombing) might put it out of whack a little bit.
