  1. Nice one. Before I get accused of not using the Search button, my thread was first, by one minute!
  2. Every search I enter in Google is currently coming with 'This site may harm your computer' for all hits. I think they must be having a moment. Can someone verify it's not just my side of the router please.
  3. Good advice. Thanks guys. I'll keep you posted.
  4. It was the one next to the Nike sports centre in Binfield. Nobody seems to take any pride in their work these days. You know, they quoted £500-something to repair/respray the tiny crack in the nose cone. It was on 3rd party insurance, so I didn't really care, but for that kind of money on such a small job, I'd expect top-notch work. Instead, it comes out slightly worse for wear than when it went in!
  5. Well, things seemed to be going well. The car went in last Tuesday and I got it back on Friday evening. It was difficult to inspect when I picked it up, as it was about 17:00 and there wasn't much light. The car was very dirty and the nosecone - where the scuffing had been sprayed - was also dirty, despite evidence of some polish having been applied. (There were a few white polish spots over the nosecone which only came off with a fingernail.) Anyway, the car hasn't been driven since then, and I finally had an opportunity to clean it today. I'm pleased to say that the scuffing on the nosecone has been corrected adequately. I'm less pleased to say that there's now a big scratch on the top of the nosecone, and there also appears to be a crack, just where the cone meets the inner corner of the passenger side headlight. I took the car back to Toyota Octagon this evening as soon as I discovered the damage. They're adamant that the crack by the headlight wasn't there when I picked the car up; the implication is that by some amazing coincidence, it suddenly manifested on my three mile journey home from Toyota. The nosecone also seems to be poorly attached on the drivers side. This could certainly have resulted in the crack. However, they tell me the nosecone wasn't taken off the car to do the work, so that's *very* confusing. Anyway, the guy I've been dealing with is going to speak to the workshop guy on Monday and get back to me. Fingers crossed that they 'fess up and fix it. But it's a bloody nuisance and damned inconvenient. Anyone got any advice or suggestions for how to proceed?
  6. My sides were splitting when I read this in the office yesterday. Opening the Christmas present to find your dead pet was the hilight for me. I'm a bit worried about what dangerousandy has to say about Virgin Media as a broadband provider. I've currently got TV with them, but I'm thinking of taking out the full TV/phone/broadband package with them, as it would save a fortune. I used to be with NTL for all three a few years back, but the quality of service and customer support was so woeful that I had to switch. I'd kind of hoped they'd got better... Maybe not!
  7. Realistically, what are the conversion costs on these? 15K sounds a bit steep! P.S. I've always wanted a Corvette, but my missus loves the Mustang.
  8. Problem is, whenever I ask a question at AVforums, nobody ever bothers to reply. So now I just ask everything here!
  9. A very respectable figure in the end. Kudos to you for going all the way and getting the car on the dyno. Tooquicktoostop, what are you like?! You cut the list in half... JustGav was bang on the money with 414. And I was one out. Doh! P.S. My previous car (BPU on hybrids) made 315 RWHP (which I think is what this one made... can't be bothered to trawl back through), but mine was at 1.2 bar, so there's definitely scope for more power.
  10. I'll do that, thanks. It won't save me for Tuesday though. I'll just have to cross my fingers and toes.
  11. Yes, I would like one! Ryan mentioned this can be done with the PowerFC Commander, but I never had the money to buy one. Is there another way to do it?
  12. Someone reversed into the front of my car the other day, while I was parked in my own driveway! The damage is really minor: just some scuffing and a fine crack on the nosecone. So, the car goes into Octagon Toyota on Tuesday to get repaired and sprayed, at the expense of her insurer. I just hope my car doesn't end up having a Peter Sharpe-stylee test drive while it's at Toyota!!
  13. Just playing devil's advocate, but that was a *slightly* biased summary.
  14. Blimey Doug, when did you become a pleb?
  15. Sorry if I came across a tad critical, but most of the debate has been based around the supposition that it's possible to make 500-650 bhp out of hybrid turbos. But these are not hybrid turbos, at least not by any normal or conventional definitions of the term. So the argument is mute. On the other hand, this seems to the be the first time we've seen you agitated! You were doing so well, so ratchet back to cool-confidence and you'll always be remembered as unshakable and calm under pressure.
  16. Oh, so very disappointing. I've just caught up, and they're not hybrids from mkiv stockers at all? So 95% of this entire debate has been based on completely false information. Bummer.
  17. Try Dusty at MVP. (That's where I got my replacement set from.)
  18. Maybe orange cars are cursed?

  20. Blimey... posts are arriving in this thread faster than I can read it! I remember when I bought my previous Supra, which had a claimed 420bhp. I came on here and introduced myself and everyone said it would make nowhere near that on the dyno, based on the mods. They were right... It made 315! So I spent a couple of grand (including hybrids) to get it up to the 420 it was supposed to have had in the first place. It's so easy to believe the local 'tuner' when you're investing your wallet and your heart into something like this. I can't wait to see the dyno sheet for this car. P.S. This thread must be setting some sort of record...
