  1. I was looking for £40, plus the postage. It's a drive shaft, not a prop.
  2. Maybe you could get it on a ramp and try moving the propshaft... see if it makes the same sound. That was the diagnosis that confirmed it on mine.
  3. What's the problem? My prop was worn at the splines in the middle, and made horrible knocking noises whenever I put my foot on the clutch or engaged gear. Now I've replaced the prop and all is quiet again.
  4. I have a driveshaft from my J-Spec 6 speed. This is the driveshaft from the rear driver's side, to fit the 6 speed diff.
  5. Well... Darryl was right! I had no idea this would turn out to be so popular! This has now gone.
  6. I have a diff for anyone that wants it. BUT... it's rather sticky, so it's not much good to drive as it is. Homer told me to keep hold of it, as the casing alone is very useful and hard to come by. I don't know why!
  7. I have one (rear, driver's side), but it's from a J-Spec 6 spd (for the 6 spd diff). I was presuming this was no good to you, but then I noticed you might be doing a conversion...
  8. Isn't it time we started up the Ken Block posts again?
  9. I think this is my favourite Q&A: "Q: Hi im thinking about fitting one of theys before i go on a track and race my renault 5 gt turbo, but im worried the slower cars like the evo's scoobys,rx7's 911's etc will notice my carrot and make them go fast in order to get to my carrot and it could cause the only possible resone for me to lose the race, will this happen?? A: A good question! However seeing as the 5 engine was esentially developed in the late 50's the faster cars feel embarressed to go near the 5. carrot or no carrot you wont be bothered. The 5 will win no matter if its modded or not. regards"
  10. Those are good ones!
  11. I was a little disturbed by the indicated top speeds, until I realised they were for 5th gear. Nice work Darryl.
  12. Well, it looks as though I'm getting a UK auto diff fitted, but from what I've read so far, it seems that the diff ratio is the same as the J-Spec auto? I guess I can sacrifice the top 25mph or so... I don't tend to drive at 200 anyway!
  13. I'll be glad to post up some mph figures when I have the auto diff fitted to my 6 spd. (I can't test with the 6 speed diff as the car is off the road until the replacement is fitted.)
  14. I bought a dump valve for my 2001 Scoobie here a little while back. I took it to ToyotaGT to have it fitted on Saturday, but they tell me I need a flange for it. I've looked on Fleabay and t'Internet, but can't seem to find what I need. Can anyone help? Thanks.
  15. The thing that I'm mostly curious about - if the ratios are different - is the unknown over whether the car will be at higher revs in 6th on motorway cruising. The increased revs and spool might have an impact on fuel economy if you do much motorway cruising.
  16. Aristo is a good idea! What about an STI Scooby? Not super-quick, but very practical... relatively.
  17. I think I do remember you following me.
  18. About 1830? I was on my way back from Somerset. I would have enjoyed the drive if I wasn't dealing with a migraine at the time.
  19. Well, you had to say that... Most of them were of your car!
  20. How did that happen? Did I leave just before the fun started?
  21. I was disappointed to find out you don't actually have a hat or a moustache.
