  1. I'm on Virgin. Haven't had any problems accessing the forum in months. I tend to hop on for about 5 minutes a go half a dozen times a day.
  2. People like this really wind me up. There really are some bottom-feeding scum in this world.
  3. A good argument, but still with erroneous detail. It's a common misconception that the pound is a unit of weight, but it is in fact - like grams - a unit of mass. (It is often erroneously described in US literature as a unit of weight, which might explain the NASA reference, but even the US officially recognise the pound as a unit of mass now.) The explanation would have been less flawed if they had described the hypothetical person's weight in Newtons... Good question!
  4. Gutting... And I've been looking for a SuperDragger for my car for ages... Kept posting up in the wanted section. (The reason I wanted it was because it's a relatively *quiet* exhaust but not restrictive.) And this was such a good price for a SD too! Anyway, I ran out of money and ended up having a 2.5-inch section of my TRD replaced with 3-inch, so my restriction issue seems to be resolved anyway. I would even consider buying this as a spare in case the TRD doesn't work out when I go back on the dyno, but I've got nowhere to store it and the new kitchen has sucked all my funds.
  5. But this also contradicts what Chris was saying. I'd also be interested to know what CW has to say about the Carrot-on-a-Stick modification. This mod, at least, seems to have a sound scientific basis.
  6. lol. Reckon it would be more like soop-uh-la.
  7. Bloody hell... 3:53, so close to buying the farm!
  8. Yeah, no one should have to settle with 500bhp at 1.2 bar.
  9. I've been having some drivetrain troubles lately. It all started when I was getting a nastly clonking noise from under the car whenever I put the clutch down. ToyotaGT diagnosed this as a knackered propshaft, so I got a replacement. I bought one from another trader, but he supplied the wrong one (one for a facelift), so I had to send it back. In the meantime, ToyotaGT observed my diff was sticking, so that needed replacing too. At this time my car was on the ramp and not fit to drive. I was in need of a propshaft, driveshaft and diff at fairly short notice! It's Ryan G to the rescue... or "Saint", as he prefers to be known now. Not only does he source a diff at short notice, he even picks it up from the guy selling it and drives it all the way to ToyotaGT for me! What a legend. ToyotaGT then sorted my car out in no time at all, and even swapped out the 2.5-inch section of my exhaust for some 3-inch pipe, which appears to have resolved my restriction issues and now I can hit 1.4 bar again. (Looks like another mapping session will be needed soon for that!) ToyotaGT advise that the car geometry is now messed up on account of all the drivetrain work, and recommend I get it set up. The car was indeed behaving very strangely, shifting from side to side whenever any small load was put down. So, I took it for 4-wheel laser alignment, and - sure enough - it was miles out. So, the guys at Merit sorted out the alignment and off I go again. But the car is all over the place, shifting from side to side again! So, back to ToyotaGT I go. They spend all afternoon diagnosing the fault, and came to the conclusion that the bolt securing the toe on the rear driver's side hadn't been done up properly by the Merit. They tighten it up, and now it handles like a dream again. And what's more, they didn't even want paying for the afternoon they spent looking at the car. They were just concerned with making sure the car was safe. I'm always extremely satisfied whenever I deal with James or Ryan. It's so good to deal with a garage and people you can really trust.
  10. Darryl got my car up to 198 (GPS) when it was his, and apparently that was pretty solid on the road. A very minor lift of the rev limit, and you're sorted.
  11. I watch it just for her. Wow! Though, I'm not sure how much longer I can fool the missus with the, "No, I just find it really interesting how people can scam you" line.
  12. A little anecdote some of you may find amusing... I was picking up my Scooby the other day at an MOT garage, and while I was waiting, there was a woman at the desk trying to explain to the guy about her special tyres. The conversation went something like this... Woman: "No, they're special. They have, like, a name." Bloke: "Runflats?" Woman: "No, it's a special name." Bloke: "Low profile?" Woman: "No, it's, like, a name." Bloke: "Like Dunlop?" Woman: "No, not a name. A NAME!" Bloke: "Does anyone else here know what she's talking about?" Us: "Nope." Woman: "Hang on, I'll phone my other half. He'll know." She speaks to someone on the phone... Woman: "ALLOY WHEELS! That's what I need on my wheels! I knew they were special!" Bloke: "No. Rubber tyres, to go on your alloy wheels. Just like EVERYONE else in the world." Well, it made me chuckle anyway.
  13. I so want a C6 now. It sucks being permanently poor. Ironically, I'd easily be able to afford a C6 now (possibly even a new one) if I'd never bought a Supra!
  14. Your opinions on the Z4 have been consistent and not entirely unexpected. But, you're right. And, last time I checked, I'm still a guy. So, I'll do some more enquiries into the American muscle.
  15. Yeah, true enough. But, more aggressive scissors than you'd find in a Z3 or MX5. What I'd REALLY like is a RHD Vette or Mustang, but I gather they're as rare as hen's teeth.
  16. I'm thinking of getting rid of the Supe and getting something marginally more sensible. I quite like the look of the Z4, but I don't know much about them. Anyone got any opinions? I would even consider the following optional extras: * Indicators * Outside line bypass dampener * Complete t0sser mitigation system
  17. Sorry, I don't know the lengths. I guess ToyotaGT could always measure the uncompressed length for me. According to Darryl, this is the "the shorter early 6spd driveshaft" (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=2385963&postcount=6). Apologies for not replying sooner... I've been working 7am to midnight for quite a few days now and falling behind on admin.
  18. Thanks Darryl. Yes, I do have one, and it's already up for sale... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=185587. And I'm told it's advertised too cheap, so grab yourself a bargain!
  19. It doesn't ring a bell. I've been through my old emails and this was the only thing that was on the invoice: EGT Sensor = £68 EGT Sensor Harness = £18 EGT Sensor Fitting = £16
  20. Dave, that car had a new replacement EGT sensor supplied by Nic shortly before you bought it. The gauge had previously never worked while I owned the car, which is why I bought the replacement sensor. Phoenix then fitted it, but never got it working. So it may be that the sensor is okay, but the gauge itself is faulty..
  21. I think the carbon wheels would look awesome on a black car.
  22. No, sorry. It's at ToyotaGT, so I'm not in a position to take any photos.
