  1. It's only the F150. They're not really that big. Virtually the same length as a medium wheelbase Transit van, and 8" narrower than a Transit, including mirrors... And you can park a Transit anywhere... Ask any Transit driver! Now this one, I agree with you... http://newport-imports.com/upload/new/103/fside.jpg Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread Kayla
  2. There's nothing impractical about that. 450 bhp, 500 lb/ft torque - It's a FULL 5 seater, with legroom in the back for 3 grown adults, has a 1 ton carrying capacity, that won't see the bed sitting on the rear wheels, and can tow 3.5 tonnes easily... Oh, and it can do 20 mpg* As long as you stick to 55 mph on the motorway!
  3. You could have bought a real truck 5.4 v8 Supercharged http://newport-imports.com/upload/new/147/fside.jpg
  4. Yep, that helps a lot. It's very unlikely to be the Cobra at fault here, unless the installers have managed to join both lock and unlock wires together, in which case it would never have worked. The installation of an alarm, unless installed appalingly, will never stop the cars central locking from working. All the alarm does is puts a pulse down the factory system to activate the central locking relay as if you had pressed the button on the drivers door. It cannot stop that switch from working, (Again, unless installed by a blind version of Edward Scissorhands). First place I would suggest looking is in the drivers door. Unplug the window/locking switch and check there is no water or condensation inside. There have also been a couple of recent threads about the drivers door lock switch causing a problem. Having never experienced this personally, I can't make an informed suggestion, but worth a look. It could also be the central locking control relay located behind/beside the glovebox.
  5. 315 on 9" rims? - Are you sure???? lol @ Michael!
  6. I assume this isn't just a flat battery? - Dim dash lights?
  7. I've been an auto electrician for 15 years + and specialised in car security. I've seen soooooooooooo many cases when the AA or RAC man says the battery is fine. Just turning on the lights isn't a good way to check the battery is OK. Obviously, I'm not there, so I can't say for absolute certain, but I would be truly gobsmacked if it is the alarm. Try charging the battery anyway, or carefully jump-starting it.
  8. I'm 99.999999999999999999999999999% sure this has nothing to do with the alarm.... At a guess, it sounds like the car battery is flat. The amount of people, including the bloody AA and RAC that blame immobiliers for flat batteries an dodgy starter motors is quite amazing The immobiliser, immobilises the engine, not the clock, and certainly not the bonging noise. The fact that the alarms LED isn't on, the remote didn't work, and the alarm didn't sound, screams a lack of power. Check the battery first. I'm fairly sure this is going to be the problem. Check the battery connections are good as well.
