Not been on here in ages, but this threads a bit harsh... MONKEYmark your a prick....simple. Your comments are well out of order. Good to see that "some" of the old faces and majority on here still have a laugh and a joke and sense of humour though. CJ - Not spoken to you in ages, but those flyers went down a treat cheers MONKEYmark - I think you will find, if you looked closely, that Keith doesnt brag at all. You compare him to Ron Kiddell......problem is Ron Kiddell has done buger all in the drag scene......so wheres that going to get anyone ? pmsl. Show me ONE thread, where Keith did his 9.3 1/4 and then came on ANY forum BRAGGING about it.......go on............... If you actually had a CLUE what you were talking about, you would also know that Ron Kiddell is a nice guy, and owns his own company....which tunes Skylines.....Keith is a plumber.....yet Ron Kiddell is still playing catch up in terms of UK GTR Drag Racing.....what does that say ? This place used to be the only forum i knew of that wasnt bitchy, and still seems to be that way, but theres always one to55er that has to be a complete twat and just go hell for leather....jealousy is a terrible thing though. And before you come on here farting at me, (yeah farting i said, cos words come out a mouth....farts come out an ar5e....get my point?) you might want to show me a UK 33 or 34 that has been built in, and ran / done well in the UK other than the Sumo Power (REALLY sponsored like crazy) car. If you think that the RK Skyline, or Norris Evo are going to come close to this R32 this year, then you must be really "living the dream" mate....but can i have some of what your injecting please ? Personally.....i question why you are so keen to back up the RK Skyline, and shoot down Keiths one though.......hmmm. At least a certain R32 can get sub 10 second quarters though.....and thats WITHOUT nitrous ! PS....Did you know that the RK Skyline has an engine supplied by RB Motorsport, and a gearbox out of Keiths car ? Keith doesnt Brag at all....but by hell if it was me i would be !! When you lead the field of drag racing and arent playing catch up it kinda gives you bragging rights. Time to start reading up mate.

Evenin all. :top: Bit of a strange one, the buyer of my old car sent me some JPEG File pics of the car in a winzip zipfile the other day. Problem is when i go to open them. I extracted them from the zipfile into a folder, and used windows explorer to get to the folder, now when i click on the pic ONCE it shows me a thumbnail of it as usual, and i can see the whole (small) version of the selected pic. BUT when i double click the file to open it up full size, it opens, and halfway down the picture on the screen is grey and theres only the top half of the pic visible. Anyone got any idea why i can see the whole thumbnail of the pic clear as day, but only the tophalf of the pic when i open it up and the rest is greyed out ? Well annoyed as i wanna see what nick my old Supra is in !! Michael

Sonax Cleaning Products, anyone interested again ?

Sorry mate totally overlooked that one lol 5 Litres of Shampoo will last you a good few months, it depends how much you wash your car, on average i would say you will get anything between 25-40 washes out of it, but some folk prefer to use a lot. The TFR i supply, if your using it to do your engine bay, you put it into a skooshy bottle, and you will get at least 6 uses out of that. The Liquid Hardwax, on a car the size of a supra, again depends on how much you put on, but again probably about 6+ applications. Hope this helps mate Michael:woot: -

Yes mate i would imagine so, shouldnt be a problem. But they come in boxes of 6, so would need 5 others interested......... -
Hi folks The Sonax Gloss Shampoo / Chamois / TFR / Polish etc that i did a good few months back went very well, so much so in fact that i didnt have enough to go round (for the second time lol) If there is enough demand again i will be placing another order in a few weeks. But its down to you fine guys and girls to let me know if you want some more, and if theres enough to merit another big order, i will go ahead. The last two times i have done this have went with astounding success. This is the time to get your order in for getting your hands on the best cleaning stuff available, and to get all that horrible salt etc washed off your car with ease, and a good skin on the car. Many members on here will vouch that not only does this stuff just glide the dirt and grime away, but it leaves the car glossy and feeling smooth like a babys bum too If the order is similar in size, i am able to offer the following prices again with again a slight reduction on the 5 Litre bottles price:- Sonax Concentrate 1 Litre Bottles - £10 each Sonax Concentrate 5 Litre Bottles - £28 each (very good price) For those who asked about Polish, i can again supply what is called Sonax Liquid Hardwax Gloss - 500ml bottle - £12 And again after lots of enquiries i am also able to supply very very good quality Chamois Type Cloths. These are better than leathers, and also a lot better than the synthetic cloths that are made by both Auto Glym and Meguiars etc, the water absorbtion on these is second to none and gives a 100% streak free finish. Soaking up water with a single stroke. Chamois Cloth - £12 approx 18" x 17" I can also supply bottles of diluted TFR Concentrate for cleaning wheel arches, engine bays etc, - £6 a bottle if i get enough demand also, as i have to buy this in a 25 litre drum. Anyone interested, put your name down here, and start a list, add your name to the list with what you would want and how many etc. Just like before.... If theres a good demand i will be looking to place the order at the end of this month, sooner if the order meets the requirement, but seeing as its shipped from Germany i have to make it worth ordering. I myself cover the entire shipping cost on the order from Germany, and only charge standard parcel force / Royal Mail prices when i send it to you. I dont make and dont believe in making money from the postage as some sellers on ebay etc do. Postage costs will be more or less the same as last time and calculated depending on weight. (unless Royal Mail decide to up their prices the day i send out the stuff again) A lot of happy members last time and the first time, so if anyone else wants anything feel free to pop your name down. As i said, if its too soon, i will scrap the idea until a few weeks on.... I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to offer this again though, but with recent events i just havent had the time. Sorry. But here it is now anyways. Paypal is the preferred method again if you dont mind adding the 3%, same as last time. Or Cheque Thanks guys Michael 1. 2. 3. 4.

Does anyone have a Nokia 6680 ? If so, i am having trouble setting mine up for email. You can send a text "via email" to any email address you like, and i have managed this and it works fine......email is received. But when someone replies to the email (my phone email address) i dont get it. Now i know i need to set the phone up to retrieve them, but dont know how. Anyone able to help out before i end up with a bleeding scalp from pulling my hair out !! Thanks in advance Michael

Much the same up here mate, too many people springing up here and thinking they can do the job with crappy products and a handful of illegal immigrants working for £2 an hour I am looking into keeping the sales of valeting products going, that should keep part of my time occupied and although a small profit, its something. After all, after tomorrow i will have erm.....plenty of free time lol !!

Hi folks, Was just wondering if anyone here is able to speak or write in Slovak / Slovakian ? I am writing a letter to a friend over there but their english is very acute, and it would take them ages to understand the whole lot. So slovakian is the way to go. But need someone to maybe transfer it from English to Slovakian for me. I have had a look around for something like Babelfish that lets you type in a block of text then translate it to a given language, but Slovak isnt an option. Does anyone know of any such site that has an English-Slovak option? Any help much appreciated as always Thanks a lot Michael

The market is indeed saturated with mobile valeting in Aberdeen just now, thats been one of our biggest problems. People will randomly setup with a shitter of a van and go about "trying" to clean a car. Get hacked off with it a few months later and jack it in. But in the meantime they have pinched some of the valuable custom in the area and given the job a bad name by doing a crap job. One thing i intend to do though, is to call all my customers from the bookings pad that we have for the last year and inform them i intend to do temporary mobile. see what it leads to.......the custom / client base is too good to let go of. Thanks very much for all the supportive comments guys, i am very grateful to all of you who have replied already. CJ - I know you and i have had our stupid differences once on here, but your comments were very much appreciated, Thanks mate. Its a hard time due to the fact that like 99% of others in the world we all have bills to pay and i am no different, i still have the use of my company van and products though, and i am trying to scramble together as many of my customers email addresses / phone numbers before we close at the end of the week and i have no more contact with them. If i can build a small client base from our existing customers for an initial homer business to keep me going that would work out well. I have also had the offer of help from a very very good friend on here, to set up and initialise a website which would allow me to sell onlie the cleaning products etc that i have been selling on here recently. This could be a very good idea which i will be discussing with him this week also. Judging by past sales of Sonax etc i am quite hopeful that some of you would be interested in continued group buys for Sonax and the likes ? I have worked very hard with my dad to build up good contracts with suppliers etc, for Auto Glym, Sonax, etc etc and i am not prepared to let them go. If i can keep my current pricing etc with all my suppliers i would be and am more than happy to remain in the position i am in to supply good etc to all you guys. Every little helps and the supplier accounts i have built up have taken me a LONG time to establish and show myself as reliable. And i am not going to just chuck that away for someone else to pick up on. Once again thanks very much indeed for all the comments, suggestions / ideas etc. Some of them have got my brain ticking at a massive rate already, but this week i just need to concentrate on closing down and getting everything sorted out, phones cut off, customers informed etc etc. Theres more to do than i realised. Again as mentioned, i will be organising another Sonax group buy in 6-8 weeks or so, and this would undoubtedly help me until i find further employment, as it keeps the old head above water, so i will keep you all posted. Thanks again guys, and anyone who wants any free advice i am still always on hand here (albeit supraless now lol) to offer free valeting advice to anyone who needs it. That goes without saying, its a pleasure helping and offering my experience. Thanks again everyone. Michael

Morning folks Got back from holidays on Sunday afternoon, Cyprus was brilliant, Egypt was superb, except the driving in Central Cairo was insanely scary even from my vantage point on the coach !! We actually had a convoy of 8 tourist coaches in our group, led and followed the full 197km from Port Said to Cairo by Armed Police in open top Jeeps, with an armed bodyguard on every coach. Insane. My main point of this post is on a more sad note though. After 6 years of business and a few months of struggling recently, my dad has decided to pack in Diamond Valet reluctantly. Its down to a few reasons, the most prominent being the fact that there just isnt enough work materialising at the moment. The financial belt has been tightened twice now, but its just getting worse. Sadly it was the previously (before current premises) forced upon us move to ridiculous sized premises that has kind of crippled us, and now even after finding exceptionally good premises, the client base we lost not being open for 12 weeks in between has never returned. The phone doesnt ring for days on end and winter is fast approaching. Anyways we have decided that its not viable to throw abother 8-10k of personal money at the business over the winter months with no guarantee of a pick-up in business afterwards. I myself am totally gutted, i knew things were slow before i went away, but sat down and discussed it with him the other night on my return home just to find out the above. There are a few reasons / factors which have contributed to his decision, but they range from poor business income, to a rather depressed period of business across Aberdeen. But the less said the better. I am as said though, totally gutted and now face the prospect of being out of work until i find another job. I know how slow it has been and the old man has been keeping the business going himself for a long time now. Just not a great thing to come home from holiday to hear. Anyways we intend to cease trading as soon as this thursday at 5pm. The lease has been terminated on the building already and most of the stuff inside the building has gone. Sold off or thrown out. He just has the power washer to sell and the office desk etc. All the products and consumables etc we still have and i will keep hold of these until i decide what to do. I will probably still do homers myself until i find other work. The idea of keeping the van and filling it with products and a 240dc outlet is there though and i fully intend to do some homers at peoples doors within time if i can find any of our customers who would like this done. The one thing that has been most obvious of late though, is that we have been getting a SERIOUSLY high amount of people booking in cars, and not turning up with them, not phoning, and not answering phones. One week last month we had this 11 times. So we are seriously wondering if someone has been sticking the knife in in order to try and see us fold. If i find out that someone / people have been doing this up around here, be it rivals or just folk who dont like us then lets just say i will be giving a few fat lips Anyways its a great shame its come to this, as i firmly believe we were the best at what we did in the area, and sadly the business just isnt there and hasnt been for a while. But we really dont understand why this is. Just a real shame as when we are busy we are insanely busy......but its just going downhill in the world of valeting just now. Just need to think about what i do for a crust now though !! Speak to you all soon. Michael

Thanks folks will go have a look now.....

Hi folks, just got back from my holidays, and we have been offered a very very good deal on accomodation only from the hotel we were staying in in Cyprus for next April. This just leaves me to book the flight only there and back. But i am having trouble trying to find somewhere online to book "flights only" through. Expedia threw up some ridiculous prices We flew from Edinburgh, to Larnaca in Cyprus and back to Edinburgh with Eurocypria who have a website at http://www.eurocypria.com but when i had a look on their site they arent listing any flights from or to Edinburgh airport although they DO list it as one of their destinations lol So if anyone out there is in the know with good places to book flights only through, then some pointers would be much appeciated. Direct Holidays quoted £141 but this was going Edinburgh to Larnaca and then Paphos (4 hour drive from resort) back to Manchester !?!?! (5 hours from Aberdeen) which was about as much use as a choccy fireguard. Hopefully some of you guys will use some of the online booking sites for business flights etc or bargain flights. So any help much appreciated ! Thanks folks.... PS......Left cyprus yesterday and it was 33degrees, petrol 63p per litre, and lifes great......got back into Edinburgh and it was 10 degrees petrol 96p a litre and pouring rain.......lovely country we live in. What a depressing hole the UK really is.

Surely it wouldnt be in the club spirit to end such a great thread before it reached ten pages of true showing of club spirit.
