I have a similar problem... it only happens when cold, after starting it up it idles at about 1500rpm and then when it drops it get a bit lumpy and you can see the revs fluctuating very slightly... After 15 minutes or so it is absolutely fine and idles perfectly... I've changed the plugs which didn't improve the situation, I've just changed the MAF and reset the ECU - will let you know if this improves things...

Well I've had three exhausts on mine now: 1) HKS SuperDragger - quiet, but a nice deep sound on high revs. 2) Blitz Nur Spec-R - loud, even at low revs, but a nice raspy sound, especially at high revs. 3) HKS Carbon Ti - relatively quiet, perhaps not as quiet as the SuperDragger but a very nice sound. Perfect for easy town driving, but when you burn it it sounds spot on All superb exhausts, the SuperDragger had to be replaced because of rusting pipes, and the Nur Spec-R was replaced because I got the Carbon Ti second hand at a good price - it's better suited to me living in central London. On another note, I heard the BoostLogic on Rallure's TT before he sold it, sounded great, incredibly loud even compared to the Nur Spec-R.. Regards, Francis

Hi there guys, Well just replaced the MAF on the supe. Whilst I was out there I had a look at the radiator and the reservoir bottle - there is no coolant visible in the top of the radiator (under the cap) and the reservoir is empty too...I squeezed the top radiator pipe and that too seems empty.. Is this normal? Should I top it up? I just had the coolant changed at service a couple of hundred miles ago, so seems a little weird.. Regards, Francis

Not entirely sure, they are described as Turbo hoses on the Samco website - http://www.samcosport.com/samco.asp?make=toyota - Hopefully someone can enlighten us who knows what the pipes are supposed to look like.

Cheers guys... The fuel filter's changed regularly, and at the last service so it's not that. The MAF is the thing that fits on to the air intake right, just before the airbox? If so I've got a spare UK one with 40k miles on it so will swap that over. On the topic of fuel pumps, is it worth swapping mine for a new one as it's done 106k miles? Should I go for Walbro or Toyota standard? Obviously I need something that's going to be able to match the UK stock setup. Will clean up the idle control valve and reset the ECU, many thanks! Regards, Francis

55.99 I think it was, it's a special offer at the mo, 20% off I think. Calcium technology, maintainence free, 4 year warranty + it has handles which are very useful! It's the HCB 005 model.

150 for all four all inc? Nice! How long did it take? Cheers, Francis

Saw this around Paul's house, beautiful piece of kit!

Bump, before this goes to the tip.... I replaced it as part of a trouble shooting exercise, the Halfords ones are pretty resonable and come with an excellent warranty so didn't see why not.

Hi guys, Well I've had this problem for a few months now, the symptoms are as follows: 1. Sometimes the car doesn't start when I turn the ignition - it turns over, almost sounds like it's turning over faster than normal but fails to catch. If I turn the key back and then try again it will always start the second time. Doesn't seem to be linked with being hot or cold... 2. When starting from cold, after the revs have dropped to around 750rpm the car will idle a little rough, the revs will fluctuate very slightly going up and down.... after a fair bit of driving this always goes away. I've had the car fully serviced (all fluids), new IK22 plugs, a brand new battery, but these problems still persist - any ideas? Coil packs have been suggested, but are these symptoms typical? Any other ideas? Could the alarm be causing problem 1? (the car has both the standard Toyota alarm and a Clifford 300). All that aside, the car seems to be runing better than ever....the second turbo didn't seem to be pulling quite as it should, but tightening some of the jubilee clamps soon fixed that Regards, Francis

Up for grabs are a set of red Samco Silicone turbo hoses... Apparently they were only used for shows by the previous owner, and hence are virtually as new. Offers.. Cheers, Francis

Crap, think someone could move this to parts for sale? Sorry & thanks.

**NOW SOLD** Up for sale is my Blitz Nur Spec-R fully stainless exhaust for a Supra TT (and possibly a NA I'm not sure..). Anyway it was fitted at Phoenix on the 10/08/05 and as such is in superb condition, not that you see much besides the tail pipe anyway. It comes with the gasket and bolts and also the baffle which has never been used. This can be collected in central London with the possibility of meeting within resonable distance, or it could potentially be dropped off at Phoenix. The reason for the sale is a HKS Carbon Ti exhaust which I acquired and fitted today - to be honest the Nur Spec-R is a perfect fit (especially compared to the HKS) and it sounds amazing, although is louder than the HKS. The HKS probably suits me more since I live in a very built up area and work very late some days, and especially with a decat possibly on the way, I'm being kind to my neighbours (although I've never had any complaints!). As you probably know this is probably the most popular Supra exhaust and is 500 new so best offers please Attached are a couple of photos! Cheers, Francis

Cheers mate, as it happens that's just down the road from me (im in SW5), I'll give them a ring. I was expecting 40 quid or somewhere around that.. The new exhaust has the bolts and gaskets ready to go all in good nick so should be easy enough
-
That's what I'm thinking LOL..... on something like a Fiesta you could probably get an exhaust and have it fitted for that price..
-
Well did the ring around today, Top Gear want 100 quid, Grays won't fit customers' parts and all the other places seem to want 70 quid+..... Perhaps I'm being a tight git, but it seems a bit much for what is probably a half an hour job! Perhaps I'll just be patient and wait until Feb when the car can go to Phoenix. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, I'm afer a pair of rocker covers in almost as new condition. Mine are a bit bubbled, just looking to make the engine bay look a little more respectable.. Cheers, Francis

I'm the same age as you with a UK TT (which according to other members can be cheaper than the NA to insure, crazily!), I pay £2300pa with 6 points + 3 points that are now expired but still have to be declared, oh and 1yr NCB. Obviously your situation will be different and so is your location, so the best thing is to get a quote, try Lancaster, Elephant & Confused.com. MPG wise, I average 16mpg with mainly town driving... On motorway runs I get about 23mpg, but I'm usually booting it, if I was a little less pacey I'd probably get high 20s. Finally as far as the exhaust is concerned, do you know which one it is? Lots of them come with baffles which fit in the end to silence it. My Blitz Nur Spec-R has this, although I've never used it. If not I'm sure you'll be able to sell the exhaust on here for a good price. Regards, Francis
-
Well I had that problem with the SuperDragger, the backbox is lovely and stainless steel, but the rest of it rusts away It had been patched during the course of its life but I had to let it go and buy a fully stainless system - the Blitz Nur Spec-R which incidentally will be up for sale shortly!
-
Cheers, found out there's a Top Gear just across the river and they know exhausts pretty well so I'll give them a bell. Last time I tried Kwik Fit they said they couldn't fit a customer's part!

Hey there guys, Anyone know of a good place to get an exhaust fitted somewhere near central London (SW5)? Would go to Phoenix, but I know how busy they are plus it's a bit of a trek for simple job like this. Cheers, Francis
