  1. If it helps m8, I got a load of spare hosting space too
  2. The withdraw game doesn't work now, ebay will not allow a seller to close an auction if it's less than 12 hours from the end. Rarely any item makes it's true value until the last few mins, so he's never gonna pull that one off. I still think he will try to get a deposit by paypal or cheque & then send the buyer a phone number for a Noble that is for sale (as stated in the auction). He's relying on the fact that so many don't read ads properly and most of us go goggle eyed when we see a bargain !
  3. Am I reading this right ?? Looks to me as if he's found a Noble in the autotrader & wants a £100 starting bid for the contact number. Legal - probably (binding contract & all that), although the header shows the cars details. Will he get away with it - probably not but the guys got some front !
  4. Shame some people have to drive a supra like that I'm all for driving at a good rate, but it's not hard to respect other road users a bit is it Or am I just too old to drive a supra
  5. Cheers Leett I didn't even know there was a 1JZ vvti version ! Presumably it's the one from the later Soarers or similar. But again it's going to be costly & with a plentiful supply of old Soarers around, I'm still favouring the 1JZ head off one on my Na block (after finding out what HG I need to get the compression right for TT's -- but if the block is identical then probably standard ??). I know it's never going to be as good as a hybrid or single setup, but I can't see why it wouldn't be close to a standard TT & without horrendous expense. I will have a close look at the soarer when it lands here tomorrow & see if it "looks" a fairly easy change. Hope it doesn't look *too* promising, don't really want to rip this Soarer apart for fun
  6. thanks for that STT Very good of you I am ok though, got a 91 Soarer arriving here tomorrow so I shall investigate a lot before it goes to a new home Is your 1JZ in a Supra MK3 or a Soarer ??
  7. Err NO Need to login to read messages Can't register because they're not accepting any new applications Another good bit of help buggered by red tape
  8. i'm interested in this one on a budget too Again not for the Supra, I'm thinking of keeping a 2.5 TT Soarer as a runabout to save miles on my toy & running it @ 40p a litre lights my eyes up
  9. Well you're not far from me Suprastar, so if I go this route, you are welcome to come along now & then to take the pi$$ when it's all going wrong
  10. Done lots of searching Leett but as far as I can find, nobody has done it in a supra yet ??? 3 reasons I can think of 1. Not enough power for most (probable) 2. Too difficult (unlikely) 3. Too costly (unlikely) I know soarers are plentiful & not too expensive, so assuming I found a smashed one, I can't see it being a terribly difficult job, or extremely expensive, but i posted this to see if i was missing the obvious !
  11. Somebody please let me know WHY this won't work ...... Firstly, I could be wrong but believe that the 2jz-gte & 1jz blocks are basically the same except for the crank thro being longer on the 2jz-gte to give 3000 rather than 2500cc So....... IF the 1jz head fits on a 2jz-gte block, is it possible to drop it on with the TT setup to convert the NA supra into a TT ??? the only real problems I can see are the ECU & minor niggles like piping the turbo oil feed. I'm probably talking stupid but would still like to know WHY it's not an option. I would love to squeeze a bit more power from the NA, but don't want or need 450bhp & the problems that go with it, so would be quite happy to settle for a cheaper & less powerful 280 - 300 Anybody ??
  12. Lateral thinking is needed WSB ..... WHEN (not if) she throws it at you, swear blind it was a STORED text that you were going to send last time you took her out, but couldn't get a signal, then forgot it Just another idea
  13. It's all been said, but this bit ........... Is exactly what I did, only after 3 weeks 3 is absolute garbage, I wouldn't give a 3 phone pocket space
  14. Sounds like one that was put through one of the trade auctions a while ago. Also had lots of neons under it and air suspension. Looked well but not good close up !
  15. Thanks for the replies, but now it's bugging me That said, I got a WRX sorted last night (had all sorts of "engine check" problems), then took it out a few times on tests & thought it felt a bit flat -- asked my son to try it & he said it went well (same son that says my supra is flat). Faye - NO mods whatsoever, I always thought it was a bit of a waste of time with an N/A ???? It's always surprised me that a 3L 24V with no turbo is such a "cammy" engine to drive, the best i can compare it to is a 16V GTE or Fiat Twin cam type power ....... like flicking a switch at 5000 rpm I really don't want a noisy exhaust, I love the car just as it is (plain & simple), but is an induction kit a worthwhile option ?? I thought I had read on her etht mods on NA were for noisy effect only & that's really not my aim. Could it be this valve thing that's the problem ??
  16. No not another "should I buy one" thread, I done that a year ago After reading various posts about the NA-T conversions, everybody seems to say that a standard N/A has a nice flat torque curve, which as I understand it, the car should pull well throughout it's rev range (3000 - 6000 ??) My N/A Auto is the total opposite ! From 2000 - 4000 it feels a bit flat 4-5000 it wakes up considerably 5000 - 6500 it pulls really strong The only way to make it go for it, is to bury the pedal & hold it there & when I do it can be quite impressive for a "lesser" model Now it's got me wondering if there's something wrong, or if it has been messed around with ?? Doesn't feel *so* quick to me, but it's the only MK4 I have ever driven, so can't compare it. What's YOUR N/A like ?? For the techies ........ this post got me wondering .... Could it be that the valve on mine is stuck open or closed ?
  17. Fair comment & i partially agree with you Mine is an auto, so obviously a bit sluggish off the mark, but the main factor is that i'm not prepared to trash MY car to prove a point to a local pikey in his 172 clio He's got more dash - I got more flash Couldn't help smiling (friendly) to myself about your "tag" .......... broken my gearbox If this is the result, i don't WANT to know "How to launch"
  18. I wouldn't worry too much about TT's if you're in an N/A Boxster-S i would still have a go at & try to outdrive rather than outrun (would fail). The N/A is ok, i am a petrolhead & power hungry but as much as I wanted a TT, I just couldn't justify the cost of one at a reasonable age & bought my N/A a year ago. Nearly any half decent hothatch will beat you in the traffic light grand prix, but i wouldn't play in buit up areas so that doesn't matter to me. Out on the open road you will slaughter them with rolling power & handling. I had a MK3 3 litre turbo & there's not so much in it between the MK3T in standard form & a N/A MK4 (IMHO). I also drive skyline 2.5 GTST-S a lot & they are only a bit quicker *in the right conditions*. And ......... the BESt BIT .......... All those idiots that bully lesser cars, will often drive past timidly rather than provoke you to perform ............. they probably *think* it's one of those TT's that killed them last time Best one I had was a smooth dude in an Aston, he came blasting past me & when I pulled out behind him to see how quick HE was, he moved left & stayed there I reckon he had met one of the main men here at sometime & was still embarrassed

    Nissan Figaro ?

Hi Figaro's .... I am no expert but have seen a lot on my travels to view / buy imports, here's a non experts view: 1.0 Litre Turbocharged, nippy but that's about it Most running gear is Nissan Micra so parts are plentiful Watch for rust (YES RUST !!) on outer sills Often the electric switch packs for window are missing (japs must like them as ornaments ) The original Raio / CD is a retro look unit, some get removed & replaced which IMHO spoils the whole idea of the car Here's an owners club site with lots of info ..... http://www5f.biglobe.ne.jp/~figaro/ Prices vary wildly !! The unusual colours command rediculous prices (often thought about getting one repainted for £600 - £700 & make a tidy profit ! ) Hope this helps a bit more
  20. CJ GTS-T Auto is probably a bit quicker than my N/A Supe, far more refined but lacks the spirit of the supra (smooth & effortless, like a Lexus) Manual is quite a bit quicker but obviously not in TT Supe league. shame you're not closer, you could have had a play in this one
  21. Might as well throw my 2 bobs worth in the supra was bought as a daily driver, but with the miles we do, I try to use whatever else is available to keep the supra miles down a bit (12,000 in the last 10 months !) Luckily because I buy & sell one or two jap cars, I get enough variation to stop me getting bored AND appreciate the supra again when I drive it there's not ONE from the list below that I would swap the supe for, although some are quicker than my feeble N/A supe Right now i am using ........ '94 GTS-T Skyline (have a wrx & largo being prepared) 2 weeks ago it was a Largo & an auto GTS-t Before that, a mixture of GTS-t's, impreza, delica, largo. FTO & a GTO/TT Next on the hitlist are MR2T - ZED TT - Soarer, never had any of these & itching to "test" them. 3 weeks ago i had the displeasure of dragging a Vectra & a Xantia home from an auction for a mate of mine ............... makes even an FTO seem luxurious & quick Only goes to prove you don't HAVE TO be a sad old fart when you are the wrong side of 40 !! (soon to be nearer 50 than 40 )
  22. Sorry m8, saw you at the last minute waving I am guessing this one is from here, looked a friendly face
  23. Just caught a glimpse & saw a smiling driver looking over to the southbound carriageway at us (white)
