  1. Bastards. Happened to me as well on the driver door. Was about 15cm long and into primer. had to repaint almost half of that side.
  2. go to http://www.the-garage.co.uk/ in wishaw and look for mark. worth every penny to go to a good reputable garage.
  3. alpine silver looks stunning. very bling bling. this is quicksilver
  4. there are 2 o2 sensors on the downpipe that can be accessed from the engine bay. think there is also one after the 2nd cat and i think its a temp sensor.
  5. the ones that secure the carpet that covers the spacer wheel.
  6. Costed me 2 clips to learn how to remove them when i was taking a bit of the carpet off. Does anybody know the toyota p/n to these cos my toyota dealer just have a bunch a pernickety idiots there.
  7. oh my god!! damn it i was so interested in that car. i would have had the money in a couple of months as well. oh well need to start looking for another rsp 6spd tt then.
  8. good stuff hamish. was it definately ur o2 sensors that was giving u problems?
  9. Yeah i live in Hill St just further on from ur m8s FTO. A UK spec is a good idea. Cheaper insurance, bigger turbos, bigger brakes, extra electronics and full leather interior. Some will have a full toyota service history. But i have never seen a low mileage one. The engineering of the supra is absolutely ingenious with very few things likely to fail. I think you should try other car insurances. I think if you find one thats 10yrs + you can prob get a quote for classic cars.
  10. I live in the city centre. You know where the dental hospital is? well just 2mins from there. Think Hamish (Getrag) lives in Newton Mearns. AFAIK he's the only other member from Glasgow but there are a few other supras kicking about and not members from this forum.
  11. Thats cos the TT doesnt have the throttle body dangling over the engine. The reason why its more difficult to change plugs on the NA is because you cannot gain access to 3rd, 4th and 5th plugs unless u remove the throttle body. Some stupid reason toyota decided to run coolant through the throttle body. hence to remove the TB you have to disconnect the coolant hoses which run through them. Look at the pdf on how to change spark plugs on the mkiv.com link
  12. same happened to me about couple of months ago think wheel bearing was coming loose or something. wheel was making noise at each revolution. i thought the car was gonna fall apart as well. was really really lucky the guy who checked it out said that my wheel could have fallen out anytime.
  13. spark plugs is easy just make sure when ur removing the coolant hose from the throttle body that you catch the coolant before it all flows into your sparks plug leads. so lay loads and loads of paper towel over them before you disconnect them.
  14. alrite m8 theres a few members here from glasgow as well. try elephant.co.uk they quoted me really cheap prob cheaper that ur £1800 fully comp. More and more jap cars are over imported these days and theyre getting really really cheap. if ur just interested in the car purely for the looks and not performance then the NA will be fine. But thats what i said before as well. Im obsessed with speed and i really want a TT just now. Insurance wise they're about the same. Performance wise is a big difference. Any mod u do on an NA except for NOS or turbo will give you very little gains. And the money you need to spend to reach gains near enough to the TT will cost you prob more than buying a TT anyway. U might wana spend a bit of time when ur looking for one and not rush into buying it. The prob with these imports is that majority dont have service history. So i think might be good sense to get them really checked out cos finding parts can be a bastard sometimes. Maintenance wise i find it hard to trust any garages in glasgow at all. Majority of them will never have seen a supra and they will over quote you labour. Personally i do all the work on the car myself.
  15. if u can get a good deal then i would be interested as well.
  16. i might have had the same problem. try tightening the subframe bolts. also check that ur wheel studs are tight. this has been discussed before and there is a pdf file containing the torque values for the bolts.
  17. alrite cant go wrong wi daves. nearly everybody runs his kit with good results
  18. i dont recognise that manifold who is it ur buying it from? is it a kit you're buying or are you just piecing things together? how much power are you hoping to achieve?
  19. if ur doing a full flush make sure u get the filter changed as well and the drain pan removed and cleaned thoroughly. Im sure u will notice a big big difference after that.
  20. yep do full diagnostics. also check the transmission fluid for the level, the colour, the smell and any bits of debris. when was the last time that was changed?
  21. ive had my car since i was 19 too. yep insurance sucks. by the way i was at brisbane in july for 3wks. pretty nice place. the gold coast must be buzzing just now
  22. maybe u can add a bit of silicone like the stuff u use to seal windows. but make sure u add some vaseline to stop the roof from being stuck to the car
