  1. I wouldn't have a problem with buying a properly repaired car, but when you see a car that is quite obviously a late model, repaired with parts from an earlier model (poorly, judging by the panel gaps) you've got to ask yourself "is it worth £21K?", (as thats what they've advertised it as). Also, as said earlier, this is a 2001 car, it can't be registered in the UK unless Bonsai have managed to get a model report (or the rules have changed?), so that makes it a rather expensive "static display" car. I'm guessing the actual worth of this car is far below what Bonsai would be prepared to accept (I'm guessing here as I obviously don't know what they paid for it at auction)
  2. My questions would be why does it have pre-facelift wings and front bumper/indicators on a 2001 car? Front end stack maybe? I think this car has been discussed before.
  3. Do you mean "Richardson Autos" in Bournemouth? If so, I've popped in there a couple of times and spoke to the owner, he doesn't seem to know alot about supras, for example, one time I stopped by to see what he had in, there was a black GZ (with a bit of body damage) for £11K average mileage and right next to it a white SZ Aero with rough interior for the same money, both '93 cars. I've seen other supras he's had and to be honest there was nothing too special about any of them, all seemed to be sourced straight of the UK docks without any forethought. However, I was last over there over 8 months ago, so him and his stock quality may have changed a bit since then. HTH

JohnK on here is looking into doing a six speed swap i believe and has done a bit of research, as for the engine swap, I don't know much about soarers but there are a couple of soarer owners on here that may be able to help, Gamer is one (past owner). HTH Edit to say this thread is getting a bit surreal!

You're obviously a masocist with alot to say.
  6. Small:hijack: F-14 decommisioned. Sea Harrier FAW2 decommissioned. Remainder of Air Force and Navy Harrier Squadrons merged operating GR7's and T10's, both services deploy from our carriers as well as land based sites. [/hyjack] ...and Damn that car is quick!
  7. I believe the symptoms for the starter motor contacts is the engine won't turn over and all you hear is the solenoid clicking, my bet would be bad battery or weak connections. HTH:)
  8. I think you'll be needing Mawby (super Mod), give him a Pm.
  9. This is consuming a lot of my time at the moment...... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=39943&highlight=project must give an update on that sometime.... Sorry, not a golfer, the only time I've ever hit two balls straight is when I stood on a garden rake!
  10. Bought it off another member a couple of years ago, it originally came from the states. Why do you ask? Have you been converted? feel a bit of Gimpage coming on?
  11. Of course! I never go anywhere unprotected.
  12. We'll have ours too, but Katie will be operating it as I'm driving so the quality might not be there!! [must hide before she reads this]
  13. Anybody going who is taking a vid camera? 40 supes is a good enough excuse for a bit of filming, no?
  14. "NNNUUuunnnngggggggaaaahhhhhhhhhh!...NNNNNUUuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggaaaahhhhhhhhh!" [imagine his head shuddering throughout]
  15. Joe, don't know if you've done any searches for info on the rear light mod but I did mine a couple of years ago and found some info on a potential problem with the lamp failure warning system due to the facelifts running a different wattage bulb, you may or may not have a problem, just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Info here... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=28114&highlight=facelift+rear+lights+wattage
  16. heh! A subject came up that I have a half reasonable education in, couldn't let it go without making some debate about it, helps my post count.
  17. WARNING...WARNING...Thread tangent ahead!.... Did anybody know that one of the Tu-144's has been re-engined with General Electric motors, for research purposes, sponsored by Lockheed I believe, looks the Americans are into Supersonic transport again.
  18. I think you mean the Gloucester E28/39, which was the british first jet, but it wasn't an "in service" aircraft, just a technology demonstrator. I think they only made two.
  19. Which the French still won't admit to.......
  20. It wouldn't suprise me if they did, but I couldn't say for sure. The reason they didn't get the leading edge profile was because they were in such a hurry to get back to Russia with what they had, so they could start building, that they left before we had finished developing it in the wind tunnel.
  21. Errr! Not quite correct Bobbeh..well known fact the Russians copied us, they even had spies in the factory at Filton. The only piece of info they didn't get was the correct profile of the leading edge of the wing, which is why the Tupolev (Concordski) had canards fitted just behind the cockpit.
