Cool, a new venue and time travel, your pulling out all the stops on this meet arn't ya!

Sorry? What did you say? I'm a bit deaf, I can't hear you...I went and bought some stupid LOUD exhaust and now all I hear is tinitus (sp?)

When I ring my Local Toyota Dealer for parts, I can usually collect in the next day or two. I suppose it all depends on how good your local dealer is. They won't have them at the branch tho, so don't expect to just wander in and wander out with them the same day, you will have to order them.

Hmmm! not that I want to ruin anybody's sale of a starter motor here but.... ...you've got to take it off to change it, so you might as well fix the one you've got... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=51682 ... the parts cost about £20 from Toyota (part no's. in the other thread) and it takes about 2 hours to do. I've done a couple of cars now and the only tricky bit getting enough extention bars for the socket set.

Why? Whats the coast gone and done now? Bit more fallen into the sea has it? Probably did it on purpose just to spite you! I would post up some piccies, but since changing PC's (and getting Vista instead of XP), I've lost that little natty trick of right clicking on a piccy file to resize them and I'm too lazy to go back to other old methods. (I've been spoilt! )

Sounds like "Amazing Grace", she's local to that area.

I think Gerry has you confused with leelbuk... ...write it off to a "Senior moment".

I don't know if it's actually law or not, more like best practice and the theory that goes with that is to do with the strength of the babies neck, i.e. its around 9 mths that the baby has enough strength to hold it's own head up properly, at 4 mths my son is holding his head up but not with any significant strength, if he was involved in an accident, front end impact, which they recon is statistically the higher risk, whilst seated forward facing below 9 mths there is a significantly higher risk of serious neck injury and possibly death even at sub 20 mph speeds. Of course, you could argue about what happens if someone rear ends you whilst the baby is rearward facing.
-
Correct! We have a "Britax First Class Si Pro" 0+ group which is Birth to 4 years, which will fit forward facing in the front & rear but will only fit rearward facing in the front, as the little 'un is only 4 mths we currently have it fitted in the front, facing rear, it fits really tight but has 3 draw backs... 1. It makes the car look stupid! , but beggars can't be choosers. 2. Because of the seat belt routing (virtually horizontal from the upper seatbelt mount on the B pillar, across to the back of the seat), getting him in and out is a bit of a struggle from the passenger door. 3. The backrest of the Baby seat then blocks the use of the passenger side door mirror, which is not really a problem exept for when you're used to using that mirror for lane changing on the motorway (you just learn to look over your left shoulder instead). On the plus side, because the belt recepticle on the righthand side of the seat is so short you don't get any "buckle crunch" and also as it's in the front it only takes 2 seconds to fit or remove it and it will only be another 5 or so months before it can go forward facing in the rear which isn't that long to live with the drawbacks really. HTH P.S. I literally just threw it in there for the photo to illustrate it fitted, the belt routing can be made a lot more tidy than shown.

Don't worry, I've found it on the net. http://carfiche.com/fiche009/jza80/2/k06.gif

Could somebody with a Supra EPC have a quick look and give me the Part No.s for both rear diff mounts and associated bolts, or post a pic of a screen grab from the EPC of the rear diff carrier/crossmember. Ta very much.

Try giving these people a call... http://www.rybecshipping.co.uk They're quite well known over here for shipping classic American "Iron" to these shores, they should be able to give you some knowledge on shipping the other way, they're not likely to send their ships back to the US empty. HTH

Yep.

Can we just clarify what type of mat your offering here, where it says "Supra" does it also say "Pure Sport"? or not? The only reason I ask is a lot of people prefer the Pure Sports and they're not available any more, so it might help your sale a bit if they are the Pure Sports. (not interested myself as I've already got two sets).

I'm afraid so.

1993 JDM Toyota Supra Twin Turbo Automatic - 26,696 miles

Thats about as subtle as being slapped round the face with a slice of lemon (wrapped around a brick) -
Wow! The missus has resurrected a really old thread of mine here. I should have updated it myself but its taken this long just to start getting some paint on it and I'd all but forgotten about the thread. In the recent months I've been giving this some serious thought already, when I started this project (all those years ago) the 3S-GTE was no where near as plentiful as it is now and come to think of it, if I had been starting this project now I would never have broken up a perfectly good AE86 for the running gear as they seem to have become quite popular again. I've also been thinking about dropping the 4A-GZE idea and just turbo charging the 4A-GE I've already got, the drifters seem to be making some respectable numbers by going that route (...and it also means I won't have to re-think all the engine mounts and steering rack mods again). Anyway, at the rate I'm progressing with this car I'll have had a few more years to change my mind yet.
-
Ah! but what did they actually adjust? and by how much? what exactly was out of spec? ...and another Question, how much did the full geometry set-up cost?
-
Mine doesn't feel "wrong" either, I think I'm gonna try and work out some method of doing a rough measure up tomorrow, something that anybody on here can use if they suspect a problem, it probably won't be super acurate, just something that can be used to give an idea if anythings out. Does anybody know where I can find what the actual set up figures are for the rear suspension? edit: Found them.
-
When you say "I have adjusted it..." do you mean you, personally? or you got it done at a garage? Do you have a technique to measuring the geometry at home? even if its just something to give an idea of whether its close or a mile out. I don't like taking a car to a garage with-out being reasonably sure of the reason I'm taking it in for, i.e. I'm telling them what I want fixed, not them going away doing there "investigation" and then coming back and telling me that all the rear suspension needs replacing. (If you know what I mean)

If the camber was out surely it would wear evenly tapered across the whole width and the complete circumference, no? this appears to have worn a step purely in the top of the inside shoulder (when the rest of the tyre wear is even across the whole width) and the amount of wear is not very even all the way round. Not saying your wrong guys , just trying to rationalise the evidence against your statements and what I would expect to see if the camber was out (but I'm far from an expert on tyres). How is it wearing exactly? the same as mine? or tapered across the width? lowered 25mm at the front, standard height at the rear.
-
Just had the tyres changed (all four corners) and the old n/s rear has had some strange tyre wear, the worn out tyres were Yokohama's and thats the first time I've had that type of tyre on the Supe (back to Goodyear F1 GSD3's all round). I've stuck some pics on so I can get some thoughts from you peeps if you think this is a problem with the tyre or a problem with the suspension geometry. I've never had wear like this before and the car is not handling any differently than when I bought it 4 years ago, its also not making any strange or untoward noises either. Pic 1. Worst patch of wear n/s rear inside edge. Pic 2. Same bit different angle. Pic 3. Same tyre 180 degrees from worst wear. Pic 4. o/s rear inside edge for comparison. Anybody got any thoughts or experience of this?

Did you mean superstitious? Don't worry Doug, seek solice in the fact that, one way or the other, he was going to be born that day and the fact that he was a boy was a certainty (because when you have "bump" scanned at 36 1/2 weeks its a bit difficult to hide what sex its gonna be).
