  1. the nuts fitted to exhaust manifolds normally have a oval shape to the tip of it, which gives it its locking capabilty to stop the nut coming loose. he could be refering to those type of nuts. so the saying oval nuts might have some truth in it
  2. sounds like bad earth connection on one of the rear lights.
  3. if you mean the tell tale hole on the water pump? then yes you require new pump.

thats a lot of work there m8. if you have any fitting experance then your best bet is to remove panels and bits and bobs have it taken to bodyshop for the jig work that is required on the inner wing and poss chassis. once that is done you can start putting it all back together again. if you have no experance then leave well alone and have all the work done by the bodyshop.

    supra prices??

i guess you normally get good bargains from people who are buying new cars from showrooms as the part exchange values are low. the company i work for were buying a new rangerover and they were only getting £3500 trade in for there old 1997 rangerover. so i offered them £4000 and they accepted. and then i sold it on for £7750 a week later.

hi m8 have you compaired the shape of the lowerwish bone against the other side. i think theres meant to be a slight curve on the wishbone as per picture. have you any pics of the car were the impact took place.
  10. they had a choice of walking 40 miles
  11. sorry to hear about the damage to your paintwork. to be honest the only way to repair that properly is to have the bumper sprayed again. you could claim on your insurance if your fully comp
  12. i had two on the rear seat on one side, a bloke in the back with one in his lap and one on the lap of the passenger at the front. these were a set of 18s with no tyres though. had no room in the boot as there was a 18" sub woofer sitting there. both front seats were fully forward. and driving in that position was a bit uncomfortable.

    ECM connectors

yeah it holds the plugs to the ecu. stops plugs working loose as theres no locking lugs as such.
  14. its your right to get the deposit back as you were unaware that the vehicle was damaged repaired and the seller did not tell you this.
  15. it seems that your going to consider this car anyway? if so do a search for VOSA (vehicle indentity check) department. phone them giving vehicle details and log book number. telling them about your finds on the hpi check. i'm sure they will have a record of the car if it was inspected, and a reason if it wasn't . all the best. i kinda like it myself :eek2:
  16. if the car is cat c and the accident recorded after that date. it will be on the log book. as the log book for a cat c is only given by dvla after proof of vic test. dvla will not release log book without this test. and it will state damaged repaired on log book. only cat D vehicles are exempt from this test and damaged repaired will not be stated on log book.
  17. from april 2003 any vehicle which is cat c has to have a vic test before it can be put back on the road. so if it was damaged after that date which this car is then it will clearly state on the log book the date the vehicle was inspected. and the check involves a inspection of repair and check to see if all numbers match on the chassis. through experance cat c vehicles normally have some sort of chassis damage or inner wings. and cat d is normally panel damage.
  18. do you have a abs light come on when you switch the ignition ON . i think the abs relays are mounted separate on the offside inner wing inclosed in there own black box.
  19. my mates are doing this to me all the time. i had the one about this guy finding my number on his girl friends phone and he was going to have me knee capped
  20. might be way out but i thought that the hydraulic valve in the steering rack controls the pressure so if theres no signal voltage at the valve then there will be no pressure,as the valve will be fully shut ? it might be worth checking the voltage at the steering rack end. you say you wired in a alarm could it be possible that the signal wire at the back of the dash. i think its the pink wire that goes to the kph/mph meter. just thinking LOUD
  21. the engine number is on the passenger side, on the engine block just below oil filter towards the front of it.
  22. if you going to have a go your self then buy the ball joint separater that MERCKX has pointed out, as by using the fork type it normally squirts all the grease out of the joint and can split the rubber boot on the joint.
