    Brazing?

might be wrong but looking at the fitting it seems that it was brazed first then there seems to be some silver solder on top of it. the only way you will get a good weld on that now is by grinding all the material off again and have a fresh start.
  2. IF you would like to borrow any sensors then just pm me what you require i'll see what i can do:)

    Brazing?

you can buy the correct fittings from your local hydraulic hose shop. try googling HOSE&TUBLAR OR PIRTEK EDIT ALSO SEE HERE http://www.speedflowshop.co.uk/banjos-and-banjo-bolts-58-c.asp
  4. Will proberly work out cheaper if you have a full diagnostic check done on the car using a scope than changing sensors. can't see cam/crank sensors giving you high boost misfires. if it was me i will do voltage drop testing on the ignition and injector circuits first before changing anything. its quite hard guessiing what is causing you a misfire without having done ALL basic testing first.
  5. the amp output is different so as long as you don't start fitting big bass speakers and too many aftermarket gadgets it will be fine:)
  6. i have one with a 1.2 bar spring you can borrow if you like as my car is off the road for the next few months.
  7. does sound like vac pipes as mentioned before. but on a off chance and totally random guess, was proberly low on fuel, brakes were slammed on, all the crap floating in the fuel tank rushed into fuel lines blocking fuel filter.
  8. Its possible that you might of pinched the diaphragm incorrectly when refiting the wastegate housing as its not easy compressing it with two springs. ( i have done the same before) connect a regulated pressure of 1.4 bar to the pipework that opens the wastegate to see when it starts opening.
  9. you can always fit some adjustable coilovers and have the ride adjusted as high as it go's:d
  10. Get the charging system checked out by a garage, make sure they do a AC ripple test on the alternator as a alternator can still charge at the correct rate but will damage the battery by allowing AC current to be drawn into the battery if faulty.
  11. lazy crank sensor systems will be cranking over for longer than normal to start as the cam/crank can go out sync and back firing/popping due to mis-timed firing. you need to find out if its a mis-fire on one cylinder or random misfires on different cylinders. if you do not have access to any diagnostic equipment then the best option is to remove plugs and inspect straight after a run when the engine is misfiring.
  12. Most proberly the window regulator cable strands have snapped, common on these old cars.

    o2 sensor

generic ones are fine as long as you have the wires soldered and heat shrunk. if the wires are crimped with terminals then it WILL affect the sensors performance.
  14. My type of car, nothing wrong with that:)
  15. 3min 50secs fire engine hitting a car on a juction was in luton and the driver of the car died later in hospital:(
  16. The ford gearbox has very thin oil, are you sure its got the correct transmission grade oil ? if not that WILL cause problems in selecting gear when transmission is cold. first thing i will do in this situation is change the oil using ford oil only.
  17. Have seen this on some cars were the pipes/unions have been overtightened at some point. but saying that never experenced total brake failure as all cars are now dual braking so the rear brakes would have still worked even if the pedal was going to the floor.
  18. if its not turning over quick enough in the cold weather due to a lazy starter motor then it will not start, try tow starting it.
  19. if you have fuel and spark then it can be : timing- low compression- blocked exhaust-bad fuel-blocked intake. check all these and it SHOULD start.
