  1. Nice collection, Just need the ferrari parked next to them
  2. The surface was terrible when james organised the meet,i seem to remember a few cars getting stone chips on paintwork and front screens. but if its all swept then it should be fine.
  3. Thats great news, welcome to the forum !
  4. You can purchase them from usa sites but require one local,The engine i require it for has the intake manifold incorporated into the rockercover housing with gaskets seperating the intake ports. its these gaskets that are leaking casing forced induction pressures entering the crankcase. but i need to do a detailed report of the repairs/findings to prove the repair once done. As a seperate company has recommended a full engine rebuild at a cost of approx £15k+ due to excessive blow-by.
  5. crank on tdc piston no1 also on tdc, Good luck
  6. make sure number 1 cylinder is on compression stroke TDC make a note of no1 spark plug lead postion on the distributor cap, remove cap. The rotor arm should be facing towards no1 lead on cap.If not turn the distributor until the rotor arm is facing no1 you can then fine tune using the timing gun once engine is running.
  7. Its not on my supra but a perkins generator used to power runway lights. I know what the fault is,but have to do all the paperwork and data readings before repairs.so will have to purchase a flow meter for calculations .
  8. yes thats right, did you have the distributor out , do you also know why the headgasket failed ie overheated
  9. Does anyone know were i can purchase a engine blowby flow meter for crankcase ventilation ??
  10. If the valve timing is correct then i'll check the ignition timing next and go from there
  11. have you checked the timing for tdc as there are two marks on the crank pulley can be 10 degrees out
  12. Start with checking the coolant sensor first (Resistance) will cause difficult starting on a hot engine as it floods the plugs
  13. Genuine Veilside arches/over fenders, £150 posted ? then i'll take them
  14. 2006 220 CDI E 211 OM 646.821 i,m trying to help a friend out with his mercedes engine starts and there is so much white smoke that you cannot even see the car. The fault code displayed on my texa daignostic machine is P2373 600 bar field injection compensation reached. the story behind the car is that it was taken to a garage for a ball joint replacement and was low on diesel and runout while in the garage, they stuck 10ltrs of diesel in the car and then it will not start they took all 4 injectors out and sent them away for testing all 4 came back as blocked so had 4 new injectors fitted including a fuel filter. once fitted and reprogrammed the engine starts but smokes very heavy (unburnt diesel) i have now taken over the car as the garage has washed its hand with it(long story) cannot find any information on this fault code. i have been told that the injectors were bought from the main dealers is there more than one part number for these ? thinking maybe the wrong injectors were fitted.
  15. I had a 3.2 s boxster handles alot better than a supra if the mrs will be driving it then go for a auto The clutch pedal is very stiff on the manual, gear changes are also quite stiff while the gearbox is cold specially in traffic. they do suffer from rear main oil seal failures which can be expensive aprt from that not a bad little car.
  16. No probs, my midpipe and catback are titanium so rather keep it that way !
  17. will you take £180 for the Downpipe only as i don't need the midpipe
  18. Nissan mechanics LOL , good luck with them finding faults on navaras, and thats from experience:p
  19. Make sure all dash warning lights work first ie immobiliser/alternator/engine/abs as all these circuits are linked that will clarify the relays and fuses, from there i'll check the battery voltage while cranking, then check the starter by pulling of the stater solenoid terminal and connecting a 12v feed onto it the starter should kick in and crank.
  20. its possible that the ring is now out of postion from the crankshaft sensor, if the engine is getting a signal from the crankshaft sensor then the rev counter needle WILL slightly bounce up and down while cranking.
  21. selling my audi convertible on pistonheads http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2776003.htm
  22. sounds like you have 2/3 glow (heater)plugs not working the smoke you are seeing is due to cold combustion tempertures in the cylinders when cold, the cable mentioned in the water housing is for pump advanced when engine is cold to allow a better idle but that depends if you have a lucas or bosch pump.
