  1. Chris, roughly what sort of costs would be involved in producing a manifold out of Inconel as a raw material? I take it it's expensive stuff. I hadn't considered realiability issues of a cast iron manifold even if it was produced with hi silicon content iron, are OE cast iron manifolds always low in silicon? Makes you wonder why outfits go to the trouble of designing and producing the bloody things and make it from poor grade unreliable materials which will warp (obviously cheaper to flog with quick profits, but why peddle rubbish when you could make a good rep for yourself selling a quality product i don't get). Also is it advisable when designing a manifold, to try and incorporate equal length headers on a single turbo manifold for a 2JZ-GTE.
  2. Nearly bought an Arnout manifold quite a while back off Miguel i think it was, but changed my mind cos weren't sure bout keeping the auto for those sorta mods. Remember thinking there weren't any other cast jobbies about back then, but just saw this one and thought it looked pretty good (looks can be deceiving!) and yes wastegate flange is tiny! They seem to think 36mm is good for 600hp, i assume that's at the fly. Still not a poor amount to potter around with.
  3. Yeah all the ports look a bit rough round the edges, poss bit of time and effort spent on de-burring, port-matching and opening out that wastegate opening. Should have loads of metal to play with there i would have thought being cast and all? Just thought the end result would perhaps be more reliable than a welded tubular type.
  4. Only just seen this dude, feel for you mate the little b'stards. Hopefully shouldn't take too long to sort out the mess.
  5. Anyone had an experience of these SPAturbo usa Cast Iron Single manifolds? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290240756946&rd=1 Design looks somewhat better than the "Arnout" style cast manifold. Apparently has near equal length runners which i was never convinced the "Arnout" style did.
  6. Was hoping to make this, but not so sure i can now so might have to be the next one........ .....still you never know might be able to rearrange schedules and try and pop down. 12pm tommorow is that right? Got quite confused reading this whole thread trying to work out when the actual meet is!
  7. Mmmmmm, not quite a Metro City eh! Woo Hoo! my 1000th post!
  8. Whats the deal with the history of the car?
  9. Sounds like a plan to me, not major surgery and will get some form of peace of mind from doing it at little cost of a sump gasket/some sealant.
  10. I forgot she could look as good as that!
  11. James..........? did they do that "Oh Sidown, Oh Sidown, Sidown next to me.....?"
  12. Should have taken a picture of the Knight Racer girls, didn't think bout it at the time cos kept copping an eyeful of them everytime you turned around! Thanks to Lui and Co for organising everything! Some nice looking Supras (though i wanted to see Lui's freshly built tt run down the strip not on the Show and Shine! ) Good to see some old and new faces, Homer, Neil, Goldigga, Chris, Whiffin & Co, to name a few. Had one hell of a lengthy conversation bout the motor trade with Movistar aka Adrian was it? I have to put my hands up for being an early leaver, was far too knackered to even go on the day really, but as Lui sorted out stand pass and didn't wanna waste it so thought i'd show my face. After a long week with v.little sleep and then getting up for JapShow after 4hrs sleep i was feeling the strain bout 1pm so I left, sounds like i was lucky i went the scenic A1(M) route home and avoided diversion, though was soooo tired behind the wheel had to stop in a petrol station and have a power nap and a RedBull before carrying on!
  13. Be even nicer if it was a GTR!

May as well put myself down for this as i only live 10mins or so away, working till late on Sat tho so if i'm not at Thurrock Services by 6:00 (maybe just gimmie till 6:05 ) then just leave without me guys! Not much of a turn out by the looks of things, can't belive only this many meeting at Lakeside when there's 100 members signed up to go!
  15. Touched a raw nerve, not dissin' the PS3, I KNOW PS3's the superior console! Just from personal experience I had no issues with the GTA4 on my XBox but 2 of my PS3 boasting buddies games stuck at a particular point. Not the greatest market research but gave me summink to wind em out about!
  16. I think i'll wait just a little longer as I made the mistake of getting pre-release ordered PS2, ended up having a noisey as hell drive (though it was quiter than the XBox ), and just generally didn't seems as good as later released versions. Maybe save it for xmas present this year!
  17. Hopefully it won't be plagued with glitches like GTA4 did on the PS3!
  18. Blimey, game sounds vast, OK now i'm jealous.
  19. MGS4 first release so far that has made me consider it was time for out with the XBox and in with the PS3! Oh and perhaps GranTurismo. Does anyone know if MGS4 will remain exclusive to PS3 or will there be an eventual XBox release?

  21. Cool that takes me back a bit! I used to have one too, had a HF Turbo i.e before that also, after 16v Grale was gonna progress onto the even wider bodied EVO II, but there's only so many years you can stare at the same dash board. Nice car fella, rally Legend.
