  1. What did you find you struggled with Dude, i haven't even really looked at the rear hub arrangement, but would have assumed i'd be able to do a wheel bearing on my Supe if the need arose? Not feeling too optimistic now from what you posted, are we talking difficulty pressing the bearing outta the hub? I take it heating the hub up and or freezing the bearing when replacing didn't make any odds?? Or was it just a sl*g of a job in general??
  2. Like my post wasn't long enough anyway!! Meant to read: the car i was gonna buy had been supplied BY or FROM an importer my mate got his Skyline from based in Folkstone as i'd seen the car there when it had arrived a few weeks earlier!! I'm thinking the 4grand mark-up must pay for a decent enough warranty scheme (which is obviously independant of JIC, most used car warranties are these days) The only problem you might find is in the small print, as to what your actually covered for. Had what was apparantly a comprehensive warranty on a Lancia Integrale i once owned, anyway the timing belt snapped and took a few valves with it. Having checked the warranty cover listing timing "chains", i assumed this would cover belts to, silly me, assumtion makes an ASS outta U and ME!!
  3. I always wondered what happened to JIC, thanks to them i got the MKIV Supra bug!! Around this time last year, I was interested in getting a Jap car, it was a toss up between a Celica ST205 GT4 or a Supra TT, I actually had my heart set on a 4wd but didn't want a Scooby cos every1 had 1, but when getting a used car of some age the complexity of the GT4 and my never ending urges to modify the cars i drive made me think the GT4 might prove a headache in the long run especially once i got it to a performance stage that would begin to satisfy me. Anyway spoke to guys at JIC and they said come down whenever for a testrun. I assumed i'd be after a 6speed manual but was intrigued how good the Auto would be, i turned up pretty late on a Sat with my girlfriend, but they still let me have a decent test drive in an Auto and a Manual. I couldn't believe how well i got on with the Supe, especially the Auto! and car didn't feel as big and bulky as i thought it would, i was sold!! The only quibble i had is the car i was gonna buy off them had been supplied but an importer my mate got his Skyline from and they'd put a £4000 mark-up on it!!! By the time i'd sorted out stuff with insurance etc, couldn't get in contact with them, ended up buying mine from a dodgey prestige car dealer in Berks, i could see mine had had a little paintwork in the past, but was sound, well enough repaired, HPI clear and at the right price!
  4. Very usful info guys, cheers. Let us know how you get on with the Wide Band kit Si, fancy sharing which one you got, from whom?? Guess it doesn't matter too much, there's only a handful of reasonably priced sensor manufacturers, just thought it say might be better to get 'whatever' for the sake of a few quid if you know what i mean.
  5. Sorry no can do got firms xmas do on 4Dec and we've got a new receptionist!! Very nice indeed! PS. Wheres Cobham anyway???
  6. Cheers Si, i'm thinking bigger the screen the better as Paul "Whifbitz" reckoned a downside to using it was trying to read all the info of the small screen where he prefered to use his lap top. I've got a restrictor plate/ring in the decats but boost is still at least 1.1bar i was thinking maybe a more standard 0.8-1bar max for normal use. I'd like to get an AEM wideband at some point too, is Exhaust Gas Temp a must to be looked at also Si? One other thing is there a need for a guage display with the WBO2 senser when running through the E-01 (is that best used just for logging the info and guage still req'd for clear display when driving??) Steve M
  7. Hello everybody Peeps! Just wondering how people using Greddy E-01 boost controllers are getting on with them. I've got an E-manage installed so it's looking like a must for me, xmas coming i'm tryin not to chuck anymore cash at the Supe buts that's just soooooo difficult. After reading the thread on turbo life expectancy i've got it into my head i should maybe bring the boost down a little maybe just have a little more pre-set for overtakes/occasional ragging so i'm hoping the E-01 would be ideal.
  8. Glad to hear your probs seems to have cleared up. Intermittant faults can be quite annoying with cars, they always seem to pop-up when don't expect them too but at least not while your putting M3's in their place!! I tell you what, i took great pleasure in totally wasting an E46 M3 During summer this year, i give give him full credit for effort he wouldn't give up!!! But unfortunately for him neither did i and before long he was lost behind me somewhere in the distance of the M25, the high speed pursuit must have gone on for a good 20miles or so and couldn't wait for my junction cos it was costing me a fortune in Optimax and if i did'nt take my exit in Pole Postion it would all have been for nothing!!! I said i'd drove sensibly when i got the Supe TT, who was i trying to kid!! That huge rear spoiler attracts far too much attention from High Performance cars who think their cars the nuts, don't underestimate the Supe i say, That HUGE spoiler's there for a reason!!!!
  9. Now were talking, I'm thinking after yesterday evenings Injector discussion antics it's not a good idea to talk business in the forum....? Are there prices on your website and what kinda discount can i get for being such a fine upstanding member of the Owners Group???
  10. No you dont want ickle ol 17's, Give them to me!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!! Where did you get those from anyway CJ 17" Stock Rims are like GoldDust, well they are for me anyway i've been searching high and low... I'm still waiting on an insurance write off which is awaiting clearance to hit a breakers so i can get some winter shoes off it!!!
  11. Where do i get these side feed uprated injectors from then??? Ar'nt PowerEnterprise jobbies direct replacement for Stock Jap Spec ie Therefore Sidefeed and High impedance so no need for faffing with resistors???
  12. Every Days a School Day as they say! I've seen the HKS Purple Fuel Rail Looks quite fancy!! Having read some of this thread for my near future plans of reasonale boost increase from stock turbo's (is 1.4 - 1.6bar feasable with J-Spec ceramic turbo's?) would i be fine running 800cc injectors, would i need upgrade fuel pressure regulator? E-manage should be able to adjust duty down enough for the size increase i would ahve thought??? When the J-Spec TT's give the ghost looks like the price of Single kits is making Hybrid Twins not seem worth while..... So a decent enough Single kit good for say 1.8- 2bar max, cams lighter valve gear and depending on lottery results, another engine upgrade parts i can afford!! YOU MUST UNDERSTAND I MUSY BEAT MY MATES' RX7 AND SKYLINE AT ALL COSTS!! THEY MUST DIE I MUST WIN!!! Well 1/4mile and V-Max runs anyway!!!
  13. Whats the advantage of side feed then Ian? Should i be after some of these then and don't stocks feed from the top (i haven't really looked that closely yet!!! )
  14. You've got exactly the same symptoms as another Stu Fraser from another Forum..... Are you still experiencing these probs then? I thought we ruled out any turbo probs cos you made the 15psi boost... I still reckon it quirks of the Auto box mate, hopefully there isn't actually summik wrong with it i.e not kicking down when it should although this could be down to the Auto Box Transmission Control Module. Did Martin F elaborate on the consequenses of the Speedo recalibrated signal affecting the Auto Transmission?
  15. I would have taken offence if i didn't believe the Supes gotta be best car for the money around IMO. Fantastic engine and all round engineering, Clever Spoiler which doesn't block your rear view, and other people can copy to put on their Mondeos. I drive Porsches all day long at work, 964's, 993's, 996's, 997's and Cayennes Turbo'd and NA (no 997 Turbo yet!) (Oh yeah not forgetting GT2's:) GT3's and RS Models:D ) - lets not mention the 924's, 944's, 968's and 928's it mentally scar's me that people pay money for these aging buckets with a fancy badge on the bonnet. Anyway Top Gear Boys constantly praising Porsches with every new model...... Everytime i get my hands on a new model i find myself trying to work out how many Supes, Skylines and houses i could have bought with the money and how much change i'd have left.... There great cars don't get me wrong....... but only if you have infinate funds of money or your a Crack Dealer... In the words of another BBS Member: I love my job it pays for my Supra!
  16. Bit of a narrow band for 'Ago' of 40's, that only gives them one year and their in the band of 'More than Age 40'!!! Is this ageism against the Oldtimer's????? On the behalf of Uncle Albert: "I'll have you know i was Commander of many a powerfull Japanese Battleship way before you were even a twinkle in your Daddy's eyes!!!! During the war Rodney..............."
  17. They may well look all cuddley n cute when you first lay eyes on them (Damn that AfterShock!) but when you see one laying next to u in the morning.... Defo no so cuddley.... Have you tried getting in the shower with one of those before........!!!!! The Antlers keep nicking all the shower spray!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. 27!! Mummy and Daddy didn't buy mine that's for sure, i had to sell my body to numerous gorgeous women to fund my MKIVSupe project....!!
  19. Wiper blades.... Smiper blades..... Who needs em. I find a nice couple of coats of RainX on the windscreen works a treat! At 140 the rains got no chance of staying on there!!!!! Having said that my wiperblades are shot, i don't recall having a spoiler on the drivers one does this mean there mickey mouse jobbies? Are Halfruad ones really that bad, i kinda fancied some nice new complete blades and my wiper arms look like they could do with a nice coat of Satin Black or summink.
  20. Oh and one more thing Si, do you recommend the AEM WB02 Sensor? Is the FJO kit unnessarily spent extra cash, and how about the GEMS WB02 Sensor Kit Paul Whifbitz supplies without a display, take it i don't need a display with the 02 Sensor kit as the E-02 can do that in real time:thumbs:
  21. Oh right, sounds pretty straight forward so basically getting the E-01 as my boost controller to use in conjunction with my E-manage is a good idea then, rig the WBO2 to the E-01 rather than the E-manage using an optional sensor harness for the E-01 (i'm repeating you here arn't I!) Only thing i'm unclear on, probly cos i haven't got the E-01 yet, is will the E-01 just automatically display the 02 sensor as a voltage? or Lamda value? Actual AFR? do you play around with the paramters on the E-01 to get it to display as you want or is all this explained in the instructions??
  22. Makes sense i guess, i don't get what Toyota were thinking putting 16's on a car like the Supra anyway! It's like Ford putting Roller Skate wheels on a Focus RS, can't imagine there much cheaper to produce, i mean come on Supes are big ol cars, 17's min 18's should have been the upgrade!
  23. No Probs cheers anyway im still looking around, just i didn't realise how much they were like Gold Dust! The majority of Supras i see around have aftermarket rims, just makes me wonder where all the Std ones go! I guess the Std1s come in handy so you don't have to Spank precious Split Rims into kerbs in the snow, My Supe had Aftermarket 18" Split Rims when i got it, i don't think they'd appreciate being spanked around in the snow, Help! Need some winter shoes before the Global Warming snow storm begins!
  24. It's all starting to make sense, so the reason Ians able to log the AFR's via the additional Air Flow Data input is cos you've hacked the GReddy software and made your own capable of logging the WBO2 data and using a look-up table you've put in display it as AFR. Wow that's some clever S**T, i'm starting to feel more and more stupid as this thread progresses, TAXI!!!!!
  25. So Ian, Matt, am i right in thinking i can still run a E-01 boost controller rigged up to the 'BOOST' input on the e-manage and use the additional second Air Flow input reserved for use a twin air flow set-up i.e. As on Skyline GTR's, to datalog the AFR's? I need some help on this one guy's as i didn't fit the E-manage, have no wiring harness diagrams, but wanna know which direction i should be going as far a boost controllers go. I plan on getting an AEM WBO2 sensor kit, so i take it that can be used to relay the data to the e-manage. With regards to constant refinement, any1 recommend a decent knock monitor to use?
