Can't eat Beef, Mad cow.... Can't eat chicken . bird flu Can't eat eggs .. Salmonella Can't eat pork ... fears that bird flu will infect piggies Can't eat fish ... heavy metals in the waters has poisoned their meat Can't eat fruits and veggies ... insecticides and herbicides Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bean = vegetable. ** Sugar is derived from either sugar cane or sugar BEETS. ** Both of them are plants, in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable. ** **To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food. ** Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want. ** Remember - - - "STRESSED" spelled backward is "DESSERTS" Send this to four people and you will lose 2 pounds. Thanks for explaining the boost cut stuff in other thread Terry, sounds like i'll be needing a spin in your car but i'm scared.......... not of your driving so much but how far into "The Red" i'll end up if i end up when sold on the Single Conv straight away. What Single's strapped-on T67??
-
Terry does that mean you have to "map-in" varied boost settings dependant on charge temps, water temps etc. Or is this just a safety feature which would just reduce boost by X-amount like Knock sensor ignition retarding?
-
Wow Cheers Ian, it all makes sense now, and i've learnt a couple of things too! :kneel: I remember when i used to have my Integrale, place called Avanti Motorsport International did an ECU upgragade which had facility for x2 different "ECU chip" map set-ups and its own 2stage boost solonoid so when you flicked the switch it changed the complete map and changed to boost setting, sort of STD/Fast Road setting and High boost race setting. I remember it was no where near cheap many years ago, but that was for Webber Marelli System. Anyway i'll just shut-up now at let people know what their taking dish out the advise i guess.

So Pete Betts Knock Link can be successfully "tuned" to distinguish det from above 4k mechanical noise. I recall seein in an old HKS catalouge their brand Knock Monitor which apparently with the aid of an built in noise filter which silences all engine noises except the frequency at which det occurs, anyone had experience with this, is Pete Betts a cheaper option? 6EGT sensors! I take it that would require x6 mods to head or exhaust manifold to fit the all the probes, so for serious precausions to safeguard your engine can start costing as much as the repair bill! typical! Would you then need x6 guages! Try keeping your eye on x6exhaust temp guages whilst ragging the tits of car you'd need so many guage pods you be in a situation where you'd have to worry bout seeing where your actually driving! Unless they can all be linked to some form of warning system i guess.

Are you talking correction on idle? That should be the same regardless of boost setting anyway i would have thought. It should however be providing varied fuel depending on load/boost pressure etc, otherwise the engine wouldn't run properly!
-
I thought Alex was agreeing with what Ian had said in second post, set/map the car up to maximum boost, then you can play with your boost "on the fly" as you put it, till your hearts content, if thats what you wanna do. The ECU should be able to provide the correct fuelling etc for boost levels below the max boost it was set up for or as you put 1.2bar, 1.4bar and 1.6 bar (1.6 bar being max boost mapped for) If you get summing like the Apexi Power FC i think you can tweak the mapping with the controller, or if you get Greddy Emanage (i know it's only piggy-back) you can hook that up to a Greddy E-01 Boost controller and tweak the map with that or a Laptop with the Emanage support tool software you can mess around with your map on the run. Otherwise i'm not so sure how you get your hands on HKS F-Con, Motec or AEM mapping software youd have to keep visiting an appointed/authoised tuner who has. You'd need decent Wide Band 02, Knock Monitor, EGT sensor to safely mess around with map parameters yourself though.
-
I know CJ's nightmare looks like it's begun with a gammy injector or poss moody/dry splice for onto #6 emanage injector duration loom, just curious from you guy's exstensive modding track records is there anyway a Knock Monitor or EGT sensor could have given CJ enough warning to avoid this damage or are we talking split second/only a handlful of engine revolutions therfore unavoidable? What sort of boost levels does CJ run?

Nice ass!!! And she hands stands too, oooh what i could do with her! Think she deserves a little more attention than **scoobybabe** .........OK Yes Dear im coming to bed in a min..... Do you reckon she'll suspect anything if i ask her to try n handstand tonight???
-
I think she was going for the "No one looks at the mantle piece while their stoking the fire, and being distracted by 2 inflated funbags" philosophy. Don't get too close to the fire honey....! I definately reckon she's definately a Kronenburg gal................. 16 from the front............. 64 from the rear!

Blimey O'Reiley, thats a long ol thread. Bread thing was pretty priceless PMSL, and as for the silicone baps...£3700... is that how much they cost i thought they were a lot cheaper these days.... she'd have been better off sticking a couple of chicken fillets down there..... must say still wouldn't say no though... don't let the misses know i said that! :spanish: Thanks to SlowDog for resolving my Auto tranny sump plug dilemma today, top man.
-
Any technical bods got any opinions on my Auto sump plug size dilemma, i've even made a thread for it! Or is any1 on this site in the know with the PS Motorsport guys (the magnetic sump plug suppliers)

Try another ebay search it's Reciprocating-thingerme-doofer! Their proving more popular than Single Turbo conversions this season..... .....make sure you get it from a reputable dealer!
-
Did they replace your filter on the service for a knackered one? Didn't quite get that... Can't see how having not changed it would have caused the sudden lack of power, me thinks the more likely cause was it having been replaced on the service and not done up/checked for leaks which would explain the " increased fuel guzzling on the same journey as last week" and the fuel starvation/lack of power. Anyhow at least they sorted it FOC, if they were proper Rouge traders they would have probly told you your Reciprocating-thingerme-doofer was knackered and needed urgent replacement for the bargain price of £1,000!

Some1's gotta know surely........ ...any1 with MKIV SUpra service experience??

Hi guy's, took delivery of a set of magnetic sump plugs from PS Motorsport over the weekend. The Engine sump plug looks fine: M12 12mmx1.25mm Thing is the one they've sent me as the "transmission" plug doesn't look right, i think it's probly for the manual 6-Speed Getrag box (it looks bout M17x1.75mm) at for a 10mm allen key. I'm sure the Auto box plug was the same size 14mmAF M12 bolt as the engine the last time i looked, can anyone confirm the thread size is the same as the Engine sump plug also, then may as well just get an another engine sump plug to use on the Auto box. Cheers Guys

Some ideas for you wkd... I haven't had first hand experience of these symtoms myself yet but i've heard them discussued a few times before and if one of your turbos has gone you should really know about poss smoke from exhaust or unhealthy sounding noises from the turbo area. Most likely culprit i would have tought to check, which is apparently quite common, is the failure of one or more of the various vacuum hoses for the various actuators controlling the Twin Turbo set-up. A split or leak in one of these cheap n easy to replace hoses could be the difference between 2nd turbo and no 2nd turbo etc. Not sure it sounds like a boost leak, but don't quote me on that, when i got my Supe there was a boost leak noise which appeared to be coming from the Blitz Blow-Off valve which was on it, after endless adjusting and checking of the BOV the noise was still there, didn't change a bit, so i junked it for an adjustable recirculating BOV, the noise was still there (although the car still boosted fine up to almost a bar as x1 de-cat and Blitz NUR) Determined to find a leak i pressuized the boost system pipework and located the leak at the intercooler pipe which wasn't completely home on the cooler and been leaking (oil sweat deposits around pipe and clamp) with that sorted all that can be heard is the sweet high pitched whistling of the TT set-up doing it's thing.

So how long till the next instalment of where the TT lump, Autobox and a T67 are gonna go?? A TESCO trolly's a little unstable up the 1/4mile strip, i'd go with a Wheelchair personally, then you won't have to hunt around for one at the end of your run!

I see thats put a spanner in the works, i was just about to set aside the funds for an AEM Wide band UEGO, so if i get one with the Controller LED Display is there still no suitable linear signal to hijack? Just thinking about it though, if AFR is a non-linear graph can this be displayed on the E-01 with a table of values? Is it a bit of a job to hack the E-Manage software, and have i read right that there'd be no way round getting an accurate AFR displayed on it, if this is the case would it be best to get one with a guage display also? Where did you source an AEM UEGO without the guage Si as i haven't seen anyone selling just that? Do Thor supply just the UEGO?

(1994) Money Pit number 1: A 1.3litre Lancia Delta fake HF Turbo (with HF Turbo interior, Sideskirts, Alloys, Resprayed in York Verde Mettalic Green, the lot even the Turbo dash with Economy Vaccum guage pipe rigged up to the turbo guage so when i came on boost i'd be drinking man!(would rest on full boost with igntion off still fooled a few school day punters though!) (1996) Money Pit number 2: An Uno Turbo which i must say was the most fun for the least amount of money ever! Paid peanuts for her, bleed valve and disconnected overboost switch, wehaaay! (everything was so simple back then!) + HF Turbo rims, MOMO Steering wheel and numerous boost hoses i kept splitting! (1997) Money Pit number 3: (The biggest of them all so far!) A real Lancia Delta HF Turbo, with more bits and bobs thrown at it than i can even remember, also resprayed in Yorke Verde Metallic (damn i liked that colour), Chipped, 17's, Integrale bits left right and centre, it was quick but numerous driveshafts+CV Joints, 4gearboxes and an a replacement engine later couldn't bear to spend another penny on her flogged to some1 at work for a measly £500 who ironically did countless trips to Scotland from London in it with spending a penny on it. (it had rusted itself to bits however) (2001) Nearly Money Pit number4: Finally got myself a Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v Evo1, felt too similar (especially inside even though it was LHD) to driving the last moneypit in my life, got rid of her kinda quickly. (2002) Brand new Fiesta Zetec S, Which i got with a 33% discount (which was meant to not cost me anything and still lost £3k in depreciation a year and a half later! When i flogged it and got the... Intermittant faults, worst for diagnosis.Could be one of a number of things! Cant be nice not being able to count on your ABS if you ever need it, not too sure whever Supra ABS control units actually log faults and whether its worth taking a trip to a dealer, but it could be something along the lines of a dodgey Wheel Speed signal sensor or signal wiring fault, dry of poor connection somewhere especially if it's not always doing it. How often/what conditions does it play up?
-
APU all the way!!!!
-
Oh you bought that ABS! you like a challenge don't you! Small world eh, will she be ready for this summer? She running yet?

Oh yeah so moral of my story was can anyone recommend some1 who definately knows how to code up an Ai600 remote, and supply if poss. Or if some1 wants to PM the procedure for coding up a spare remote might be good, think i've seen remotes for sale on the net somewhere.

Dave was this a car on ebay a little while back, half the engine in bits, interior and wheels sold separately, owner had gone off to the South of France in his Ferrari or summink. Had a fancy reg with it like "450 BHP" or summink? Not trying to highjack your thread but i've got a TOAD Ai600 on mine obviously the primative model. I only got one keyfob with the car and wouldn't mind a spare. Tried getting an Toad alarm "specialist" to code one up but he only had new Ai606 remotes which wouldn't code to the car and he also tried a second had Ai600 remote he had in his tool box which also didn't work, He agreed my alarm was working fine but was meant to get back to me when he worked out why he couldn't code up a spare, tried ringing but "he's always on the phone to TOAD!"
