How does that work? Does Garmin have a specific freq that they tune into, or is it a freq used by others too, if so would be interesting to see what protocols they use. what about UK / European FM coverage... Keen to understand how this works...

Don't know buddy, all I can say is that on a PDA (and its an IPAQ 4150 and prior to that it was a 3800 - so not even new) it works like a charm....I am not sure about the hardware specs of the Go range...

I have used TOMTOM for 4 yrs now (ver 2 onwards), however on a PDA and it is fantastic, especially ver 6 which I have now had for a week. In the past I had used Destinator, NAVMAN & Co-Pilot and TOMTOM was leaps and bounds ahead. The gagdet show recently did a review of SAT-NAV kits and compared the TomTom (Go version) with some of the others, Garmin and the NAVMAN and also concluded that the TOMTOM was better overall.
