Hi all, just thought I'd check with those that have got a quote or insurance through Elephant. My renewal with Direct Line is £1100 this year (gone up ! ) so I went onto Elephant and chose Toyota, Supra, Turbo Auto (Imp), 2997cc 1993> My quote was £900 and that's with 5 years protected and lowered my excess to £100 voluntary. Has anyone checked out whether this is correct seeing as they say phone for Imports ? When I used them before I couldn't get a quote online so was wondering if they just haven't updated their website message saying you don't have to call anymore and you can get the quote online. and before Mawby (or anyone else) mentions it I've asked for our newly approved club insurance company to give me a call

I've got that alarm fitted, the 950 is technically an intelliguard tho (well mine is ! ) Just make sure you're happy with the settings on the proximity sensor as this can result in it either going off all the time or not at all. I paid £500 to have mine done, but then he did me a special and only charged £60 to have remote window closure on alarming (usually about £95 I think) Also make sure the bonnet sensor is up high enough for the bonnet to depress it otherwise that'll also mean the alarm keeps going off. Any probs give me a shout.

just thought I'd add that this happened just round the corner from me. If I remember correctly the local reports say he was speeding before this and hit cars just moments earlier. would be nice if speed camera's were put up along this road instead of on the ring roads/bypasses, it may have made a difference.

Glad you mentioned the BOV, gives me an excuse to spend on getting an after market one. I also reckon I've got a slight blowing in the exhaust which means I should get an aftermarket exhaust too, but maybe I'm just wanting to hear a problem !

nope, as far as I know it's totally standard and I'm coming up to 100k miles. hence why I'm a bit concerned, i don't think even the cambelt has been changed !!

Hi all, Wondering if anyone could recommend a place nearish Bristol that could look at my Sup ? About 6 weeks ago I got new rear tyres, new stereo fitted and oil, plugs and bulbs done. Since about that time I get a whirring noise (like blowing across the top of a bottle) at about 27 mph and only that speed, any quicker or slower and it isn't there. Had the tyres checked and apparantly there isn't any play in them. I've also got a tapping noise coming from the engine bay which I know needs looking at. Any ideas would be gratefully received

their computer shows engine output and wheels output, it's not done by any calculation afterwards, just whatever the computer reads during the power run. is that what you were wondering ?

Hi all, I've taken the plunge and bought myself a J spec TT Auto in silver. I've wanted one for so long that before I had driven one I was hoping that my expectations weren't going to be too high, but the car is a dream. I was just wondering if anyone has taken out warranties with any company ? I am looking to get one and Warranty works cover vehicles up to 15 years old so I can get the top warranty for 12 months for £280. Anyone think this is good/bad idea, any advice ?

Bristol Import Centre ? I went there a while back looking at various cars, he told me he doesn't just bring any old stuff over only the best he can find. Went back a couple of weeks later, the owner was busy and so I was chatting to his helper about a TT Sup they've got there, his helper said he's not selling it as the engine and gearbox are f**ked even though it had £9995 on the windscreen. If you check his web site it's still for sell but now £8995 I think, I reckon it's been there for almost a year now. Having said that I'm sure he has good cars there and every trader is going to sell a bad one at some point, it's just whether they know they are selling a bad one. oh, the owner also said to me a while back that he's not bothering with Sup's anymore as he's had too many bad experiences with the bottom end on them, I see tho that he's just taken/ing delivery of a purple TT !! I could tell you more but I've said enough !!

do all auto's have this manual overide option ? how does that work ? like the tiptronic I assume ? could someone elaborate ?
