Slutter's 800HP Forged Motor Build! (Update Page 4! 6/10/13)

Nice work mate keep it up -
You should be running the caps ! I drilled a hole in the centre of each cap the hid wiring comes with a rubber grommet but I still covered it in sealant
-
It must be the caps on the back as when I bought mine brand new I fitted hids and glued the backs up for peace of mind never been a problem

thanks I remember the pedal feel when I had it on my car when bpu and it was like stock , not sure if the design has changed but is this the one yea ? https://www.centerforce.com/products/product-detail/id/CTF-DF510150/name/clutch-cover-disc-for-93-98-toyota-supra

I am running a competition clutch and even when it was used on the road shifting was very snappy the clutch was so heavy and very on and off to be honest the clutch ruined the drive of the car I know its just a track car but shifting down and being smooth would be a nightmare with this clutch , I keep reading that the triple plates are the nuts stock pedal feel etc steve.l and paul.w both used them and those were track . You are right though maybe a seq gearbox is over kill for my needs after all I need to get the car finished first if someone can recommend me a decent single plate clutch for 600hp/540ft of torque be great, I spoke to Paul he advises the spec stage 1 would be fine and drives very nice , thinking about it mate I can not remember if it was you or your bother that came and bought back your old clutch off me but how would that hold up can you remind me the make of it ?
-
thanks for the info all, so a clutch still has to be used ? , HKS do this bolt on sequential box for the supra I am guessing this would be a direct fit bell housing and then fit the factory prop shaft etc but I can not find a price. Just running though some ideas as no doubt I will fork out for a triple carbon clutch nearing on 3k ,I could sell my 6spd conversion and would be happy to put some money towards this. Chris do you mind me asking how much was the tractive box ? http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/6109/db24.jpg

Interesting cheers will try and search for that , I am just thinking I am probably going to end up fitting a rps triple carbon £2700 , my 6spd gearbox conversion if I sold with my current clutch will be around the same so another £2700 just working out how much I would actually have to put with it to go sequential
-
Does anyone know of any manufactures that do a sequential gearbox for the supra? the only one I can think of is HKS did one but I can not find anything about them , I've seen Hollinger ones come up but always for the skyline rb26 .

LOL people could get bored going through 200+pictures I like it though good to always keep a record of the amount of work gone into it , feel free to post up some
-
cheap that ,although the only thing out of place is the 550cc injectors and no mention of a ecu
-
Have to say the inspiration came from what Baldy originally did to vj's bumper hopefully should keep the oil temps down , when Steve.L run dual coolers apparently he only noticed a 1psi drop in pressure
-
Cheers Gaz Thanks Rich will do , I can't wait to get it back

Thanks for the pics of the rear diffuser looks like more work , quick update matt has taken loads of pictures thanks mate here are just a few he's welded up all the holes brake light, ariel etc , fitted aerocatches in boot lid and bonnet, sorted out the arches and any dents most of the custom work has been going on the front bumper mounting the dual oil coolers flush while leaving enough room for the ic pipework also only noticed when I bought steves coolers both tabs on the oil coolers on side had been cut off so a custom bracket had to be made , next is the quick release front and tow hook then hopefully will see some primer. Ordered a apr 300 spoiler from Paul @whifbltiz thanks for sorting a good price mate http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/6497/4mt5.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/4842/6a41.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/9265/ib0p.jpg http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/2551/hgxk.jpg http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6218/ednr.jpg http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/3056/u10j.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/160/ev83.jpg http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/2690/c0ep.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3008/mv26.jpg http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/2233/fq7d.jpg http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/7470/9t85.jpg http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/8696/ezs7.jpg http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/7784/owcw.jpg http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/186/7w1n.jpg http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/2484/j2co.jpg http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/5293/3nhw.jpg http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7605/o1bc.jpg http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/4499/i1cd.jpg http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/252/0l5n.jpg http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/1286/5mkd.jpg

Look at Steve L build thread posted up by Paul they both used them on the time attack cars , Steve said it worked really well use the rear turbo oil port for feed not sure about the electrics though think its so you can prime the pressure before the engine starts if you want to
-
How about a power fc , I saw on the skyline forum apexi have started selling new units along with a updated style hand controller that you can actually see in daylight £650 via nengun

Manwithsupra's Racing Supra Project thread
chazuk replied to ManwithSupra's topic in mkiv Supra Projects
Looking good , I just did rear uppers as it was the only ones I did not do on my powerflex arms did not need a press so if you get short on time drill as many holes as you can through the rubber bush part ,using a vice and a socket with a tube on the other end to allow the centre bush to push through it pops out easy leaving the steel inner ring use a air saw make 2 cuts tap and remove this then once the pressure has gone it just pops out with a screw driver did both in 1hr -
it's ashame Megan or someone like driftworks don't do a full arm kit , I know the traction arm does not do allot but I've put a small bend in two stock ones now not noticeable until it was off the car, thanks for the advice on the diffuser have you seen anyone running this setup ? just wondering if I could get ideas of how to do it ? I can not seem to find a new price of the nitrons do you know ? I guess that kw kit above on mvp is the road going 3 way but Iam guessing its better than bc ,meister, tein offering some 3 way adjustment. Yea it was a really nice car shame to break but it gave my aero life and the track car many panels ,dash etc things it needs plus I have a spare shell / arches for when I stack it trying to keep up with Richard
