  1. Wow seriously nice work has gone into this well done mate I look forward to seeing this go round goodwood
  2. One of the best one's was someone got scammed on ebay think it was over a Wii he was from the Scooby bbs net forum the seller even text him saying he had been scammed and she has his money, 100 odd pages later and it even made local newspaper they managed to get private photo's of the scammer (a young lady) her address from memory her parents address and numbers the boy friends name and close friends they even organised a Scooby meet outside her house .. she signed up to the forum and she begged and the guy got a full refund:d
  3. As the rules at the time allowed for better competition (lighter weight penalties) when running a 4 cylinder engine In 2004/2005 the Supra run with the V8 engine as there were rule changes in that season. Does any one know the transmission loss % fly or wheel between auto and manual ?
  4. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile winning's winning:D
  5. As per my first post in this thread that's one of the good things a auto is good at Drag racing I use my car on the road as do most and don't run drag radials etc. Why put modern day flappy paddles on a 4spd slow changing gearbox its not going to change gear any faster is it? even with the syvecs you might be able to shave some time off but still will not be anything close like a modern day car as I said earlier my friends vw golf r does a gear change in 8ms suits flappy paddles and that's in a golf
  6. Well someone saw sense , if my supra didn't hand out punishment to the "sport cars" of today I would probably of moved on , the sport car category these days is so vast it includes cars such as audi TT's ,mx5,tvr,louts Elise's not just your lambo or Ferrari .
  7. Uk roads have corners and roundabouts Ah at least Jamesy saw sense , so every manual race car is not a proper race car ? it's pretty much safe to say auto owners will say auto's are better and manual owners will say manuals are better each to their own I guess
  8. The 6spd's are a bit agricultural but take into consideration they handle over 1000hp stock it's not much to worry about you will need a built auto to handle anything near that then the oil coolers . Most 6spd's drive horrible in traffic due to heavy cheap clutches being fitted I had this on my old clutch the new clutch drives almost like stock clutch. I bet that was in a straight line and engine modifications come into play look at the blitz supra 7min 21 second nurburgring ring lap back in 1997 it was a 6spd it just would not happen in auto, all of the big tuners do luck, top secret etc all the supra's they built where 6spd surely if auto's where quicker wouldn't they have gone auto ?. I heard your dad lost the back end during kick down and smashed the supra?
  9. I went from Auto BPU to 6spd the difference I felt was huge I swear the auto's suck up more power than a manual ? not to mention it's such a old design gear box yes it was ahead of it's time but time has moved on it's not like a modern day 6/7spd auto a vw dsg golf does it in 8 milliseconds with racing style down changes . Not to mention the noise of a auto from the outside it sounds like a stagecoach bus even worse on single I think. More control in the twisty back roads with a manual and better gear braking , I have been out in auto singles and the kick down is savage in a bpu auto on a single its like a ditch/barrier finder The only thing a auto is good for in a supra is drag racing or when living in a built up city like London or if you poodle around like miss daisy not hanging the arse out
  10. Blimey , thanks Chris if I defiantly go down this route I will drop you a email . Yea tell me about it I originally had a mishimoto the welds leaked. I am on a brand new koyo now which does not leak but my top heater hose and top rad hose is seeping from the ends almost coming out of the strands of the hose after lots of searching on here and supraforums it seems 1.3bar rad cap is just pointless and over the top and all it will do is help finish a old heater matrix off and find any leaks . My 2nd problem was finding a stock pressure 1.1 cap for the koyo since the stock cap do not fit ,well they do but then you have expansion problems. I have got a cap coming from America which they run on koyo's it seems with others wanting stock pressure cap, but it's not arrived yet bored of waiting I heard skyline caps fit the Koyo so got one of those and touchwood it seems to be okay blowing out and sucking back when cold . The hoses are still seeping they are stock so going to replace them .Any more hassle and I am learning the hard way but the best parts are stock parts very rarely does a aftermarket part do a better job . The same company that is doing the new 6spd's jap import car parts in the uk have the facelift radiator for £237 and the pre facelift for £139 .
  11. Not sure it could of been I think it had something to do with what the core was made out of but not sure I might have to drop Chris a email if he does not see this thread see if he remembers No both are manual
  12. Anyone know why the facelift rads are £100 more than the pre-facelift ? Which would be the better rad ? .I do vaguely remember Chris W explaning the difference some years ago but I can not find that thread.
  13. I read the first post as he already has a syvecs ? He could easily do this for 5-7k easy! as stated he's probably not looking for stupid top end power he has a syvecs, fmic, hks fuel rail, its a uk spec so the brakes will be okay if not going stilly power Whifblitz twin gate bw s300 turbo kit 61mm £3800 bosch 044 or walbro pump £180-220 ansu 1000 injectors £684 Whifbitz Supra Autobox Cooler Kit £246 syvecs remap £450 Total £5400 Leaving 1600 quid for fitting if it even costs that much
  14. Cheers, yea mine is tucked away as well . I am pretty sure mine is still reading wrong I might re-do the wiring to the sensor as there is allot of noise on that sensor even with using the syvecs filter on it . On the toucan I see 7-8bar cold and 3.5bar warm idle. I am not to worried though as my test in the earlier post with a standalone gauge showed 90psi from cold which is 6bar which seems spot on then .I have borrowed a proper oil pressure testing kit it just looks like a leak down tester with oil fittings. I will run that along side the syvecs sensor and probably recalibrate the sensor voltage so it reads the same.
  15. Be allot of work not just mechanical I would of thought you would need a standalone ecu as well to control it, like anything custom the cost would probably be so high you could buy a brand new 6spd or a built auto box plus have re-sale value in the car.
  16. The new owner seriously needs to wipe down the interior while wearing a bio suit armed with a uv lamp
  17. Nice buy mate, nice to see its a original tt gz along with the bits and the 6spd conversion when finished be worth a few bob this
  18. This is on my list of jobs to do , has anyone thought of re-pinning the factory plugs to take the larger gauge cable stu hagen did this on his supra. Another way I saw one of the yanks convert both the - and + stocking wiring into + then drilled and fitted a earth on top of the hanger that then went straight to the battery in the boot.
  19. worth a look http://www.tunedinternational.com/forum/index.php?/topic/41-cbs-lowslow-jza80/
  20. +1 on the above stock TT engine BPU and enjoy the summer
  21. I have recently gone with Sky and got a agreed value ask for Luke it was all friendly and hassle free
  22. Nice purchase mate I look forward to seeing this finished
  23. So nice , anyone know if those in the pic are 18 or 19's ?
  24. I spoke to kw up at the good wood fos stand last year , I will defiantly be going for a set soon I was impressed using the stock top mounts is to aid with the ride quality ,also they come pre-setup so must be worth trying their setup before changing it
