  1. No I already had a 6speed .I think the problem is it's a fair amount of R+D clutch conversion push to pull /bh adapter etc what it really needs is a main trader to get involved sell the fitting kit without box However since I last looked there are now people selling the BH adapter for the bmw box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-1JZ-2JZ-ENGINE-ADAPTER-PLATE-TO-BMW-M20-M50-S50-M52-M57-GEARBOX-1-JZ-2-JZ-/231679516495?hash=item35f12cdf4f and the 350z box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-1JZ-2JZ-ENGINE-ADAPTER-PLATE-TO-NISSAN-350Z-GEARBOX-1-JZ-2-JZ-SUPRA-BMW-/171936070944?hash=item2808303d20
  2. I looked at this ages ago there are loads of turbo 600hp+ m3's in the states running the stock getrag http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?281896-Bmw-6-speed-getrag-box-conversion-for-2jz
  3. Top work by Baldy as always:) Rob come on where's the updates
  4. It has clutch drag if he's been driving it like it the synros in the box can get damaged Jacks well known getrag rebuilders state don't drive it at all http://www.jackstransmissions.com/pages/clutch-drag-kills-synchros And for the sake of a 50quid sensor to stop the engine hunting surely you would do this before selling
  5. That must be for one of the last one's as I messaged Jurgen a few weeks ago a 93 TT6 on the road starting from around 10k admitted the one I picked out the auction as a example to ask Jurgen had a full veil side kit on it . I don't think UK price hikes are just supra related look at earlier skylines,rx7's and I even saw an ad a few months ago on the GTR forum guy added 5k on the price reason to reflect current prices rising. I think the only car that will fetch big collectors money in time is a UK spec standard original. The USA import market they will be after the LHD's from Europe it's like us driving a lhd over here most of us IMO would not bother, but they might import a rhd though with lots of toys on to break . I love the mkiv I had 4 but everything has a shelf life and it's getting old now. I was shocked at the hike in Toyota part prices earlier this year it's going to cost more to maintain a ever increasing old car .It will be interesting what will happen to the forum over the next few years as this year it has certainty gone down hill not much seems to be going on these days its almost dead. If Toyota do release the mk5 then that could do what the mkiv did to the mk3 especially if they keep it affordable and approachable to the people as they said. Also with Bmw releasing the same car it will only drive production numbers up so even if it starts off at 60-70k like the GTR I reckon same as the GTR 5-6years later 25-30k has come off that price already couple that with grey imports coming from Japan as no doubt a proper next gen Supra if it does have 480hp stock electric motor it will no doubt be a hit we all know the first to install stage 1 mod's will already have it over 500hp
  6. Be interesting to know what stage it looks mentally fast in a straight line
  7. Your not kidding there's one on youtube doing the ring in 7min46 I did not realise they were quick! I just watched your video racing the GTR at Silverstone do you know what stage it was? It looks like he was getting worried seeing a 20year old supra constantly in the mirror! He totally over cooked it at 6:23 and after that backed right off
  8. Anywhere from 2-2.5k for a stock one it's a gts-t people knock them as it's not 4wd Chris Wilson has one on here he uses on the track. Bang for buck bpu mod's will get you 340bhp it weights in at 1360kg stock so some 200kg lighter than a mkiv supra. Engines are pretty reliable until you get to 450+hp good handling the only thing that lets them down is rust best to get one that has not been in the uk for long or a fresh import. I keep looking at GTR's can I ask have you done anything to your gearbox ? Is your car in warranty if so does it cover modifications ? I did some research and found the below just from this year on the gtr forum it put me off a bit as some of these were stock power with gearbox issues. One guy Nissan has had his car for 6months waiting for a gearbox a new box is 18k +vat could get rather expensive out of warranty. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/376258-when-you-lose-gear-r35.html http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/373874-transmission-4-weeks-dealership.html http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/371330-another-t-m-problem.html http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/378258-r35-gear-box-advice.html
  9. I think my gf will be selling her toy soon. It is just right as it's pink
  10. If I was you I would ask the mods to delete this thread as your only making it worse as any potential buyer will probably browse your recent threads. I have to agree with others there is no point listing every serviceable part I only listed the main large Toyota items the rest is just expected up keep and adding things on like wheel alignment and the cost is just silly. It's looks like a decent car if this was priced right it would not hang around
  11. You really don't have luck buying cars do you! .It is to hard to tell by the pictures but don't let Chris W see how much gasket sealant is on that thermostat housing lol . Has it been losing water level on the expansion bottle when cold ?
  12. Ah that's fair enough it just looked like the underside was bare but it must be a creamy /white under seal as opposed to black . If you are using the car in wet weather I would defiantly bump that under tray up on the list it also has been proven without it the engine bay temps run allot hotter.
  13. Nice looking car this but how is there rust on the door shut sills on a 96 especially with such low mileage and with no side skirts. I guess that rust has come from the bottom up as when you say sills protected is there no underseal on them currently underside ? I hope you haggled on the asking price if I go to buy a car and it has brake judder that would put me straight off owner has obviously not maintained the basics. By the looks of it you need to add a under tray to your list I would recommended the SRD one
  14. No need to take it personally I don't need to ask anyone that has been in your car as I have been in enough auto singles to know. But I will still say it is a slow changing box after all it is 20 year old technology! Put it this way a VW Golf with a dsg box does changes in 0.2seconds on top of that no torque loss to the drivetrain during the shift . I don't disagree that BPU kick down is savage but in a single it's just a ditch finder or in your case a barrier finder
  15. Granted some are worse than others but heavy clutched is nothing to do with the gearbox that's people fitting cheap clutches . The manual it has been proven to take over 1000hp again and again so a little noise and clunk is not bad considering a auto will crap it's self at around 550-600 . I went auto bpu to manual and it was the best thing ever auto sucks up more power ,sounds naff from the outside as it's a slow changing box not like modern auto's and I just had better control of the car overall.
  16. I researched this on supra forums for ages most of them end up with a cage which I think looks naff with the roof off but unfortunately nothing short of a cage is going to fix it. I have had two aero's both where the same I only realised how bad it was when one side was parked up on a small/med size curb while I was trying to put the roof on I got 3 bolts going the 4th would not even attempt to go it would just go tight or start to cross thread I tried for at least 10minutes it was only until someone said take it off the curb and it bolted straight on perfect first time as per normal
  17. Manwithsupra - Blimey someone speaking their mind on this forum Abz is right I came from the skylineowners forum that used to be booming a few years back and now its basically dead I check it probably every 2 months and the same threads are on the first page with hardly no builds going on what so ever. Unfortunately people will not like it but the mk4 has a shelf life just like the mk3 did and it is getting on now 22 odd years it will start having a knock on effect with the traders how many people are lining up to spend big money on a 22 year old car especially when the base price is high and coupled with hike in Toyota part prices earlier in the year . I think another nail in the coffin could be the mk5 as I was reading the other day Bmw will release the car as well but with the option of the two smaller engines and Toyota will get the middle engine and the big engine with the electric motor they still say it will be affordable and approachable by the many but we will see, either way 2 manufactures knocking out the same car there will no doubt be quite a few not to mention the grey imports that will come over which means second hand prices will probably drop fairly quickly just like the r35 which there is some 100+ plus for sale on piston heads all the time 60k new motor 5 years old can be picked up for 36k .
  18. I keep hearing about this FB group you got a link mate?
  19. If it is to buy a single mate I would seriously think about putting a single on yours it's mint and better the devil you know sometimes. I have seen so many people buy singles then realise the setup is old hat or laggy and end up changing pretty much everything anyway.
  20. you will get there has to be loads more to come as didn't JP run a 10.5 with 850bhp on pump fuel and road tyres with full weight sub etc
  21. Is that the 10mm nut stock earth at the back of the boot you have picked up on? also what size earth cable have you used ?
  22. I think you are best off keeping this mate get a cheap daily diesel, you rarely get your money back on building cars probably lucky if you get half back in most cases but that's doing up cars no matter the make/model with my aero I lost around 12-15k . It is nice to see you have not cut corners though on your build. I have seen some people asking top dollar and things like bushes, crank pulley, valve stem seals, water pump etc have not been done and supra's are at a age now where it's almost guaranteed they will need doing my last 2 needed it within the first year of ownership and that was ££££ ontop of buying the car
