    Not this again

All depends how much. Thats one reason why i was looking at a J-spec ive seen a u.k with 62k on the clock it was £15000 then ive seen a j-spec with 45k on the clock for just £8500 thats such a price difference and i cant understand why someone would go for the u.k spec as you might aswell pay the higher insurance and have probally a better looked after car and still be quids in,90% of the time theres more choice around aswell. Not saying yours isnt nice, send me a few details and we can go from there thx

  That takes the P*** iam with elephant at the moment with my 1.3 G reg Polo cost me £330 TPFT if i want to go u.k spec it will cost me about £700 more which is a joke cus they only quoted me £800 in the first place and a J-spec is £1400 more wish i had found out how much a j-spec was before i insured as i might have found out how much it was if i was just renewing and not uprading.

Thx Jay and everyone else just one thing i hope you all might be able to answer i read on the thread that jay linked to here and some one said about classic insurance because there car was 10 years old now is it worth trying or is it going to make little difference:confused:
  6. I hate to bring this one up again but iam kinda callin on all young supra owners or anyone that knows of one,iam kinda finding it hard to find a u.k spec and i checked with my current insurance company and an import was a rather hefty amount more sniff so give me some examples of quotes you have had and who they were from so i might be able to get a J-spec iam 22 3 Years NCB with clean licence and i live in a low crime rated area. Many thx
  7. fair play to the man hope you get one just dont get carried away would like to see you reach your 20th B day

    blown turbo?

Iam only trying to give the lad a few pointers and btw i would be willing to put money on the fact you CAN make the car boost standing trust me ive done so.

    blown turbo?

could be that the actuator is shot if its not closing when it should then you will get no extra boost as for the noise well it could that the turbo is dead aswell i had both go and the heat build up near the waste gate cracked the surrounding metal on my T3 do the best thing and at least get it checked it dont take long to find out if its out of date aslong as your mechanic knows what to look for and it could just mean a reacon which is far cheaper than a replacement peice. Thinking about it you should be able to see the actuator arm move when it comes on boost get your head under the bonnet and give it a few revs (maybe quite alot)then you should see the arm move.

    My car

just out of interest paul how much did you buy it for and what miles were on the clock o and how long ago

    My car

I havent got up to speed on the prices of supra's yet u.k or j-spec so i wont attempt to comment on the value of your car paul but as the mod thing goes ive had a bit of experience in buying and owning sportie fords and having just spent a year and a half looking for what was a nice rare car until i got wizzed off trying to find a good one so switched to the supras. But the problem with them is the same with any performance car is if your going to mod it and then hope to sell at a later date for more £££s then you need to go all or nothing as people who look at standard cars dont like thrashed metal at all and people who want big BHP dont want to spend £££ on hauling the ass of a 500BHP car up to 800BHP when they could just look around a buy one that already has that kind of power and will cost them less than if they tried to get one up to that sort of power. Just thought i would give my pennys worth
  12. think i'll just have to settle for a nice u.k spec what ever the box is think i shall wait a few years until my insurance comes down so i can get a decent quote on an import i need to.
  13. infact best ditch that idea elephant wanted an extra £1400 on top of the £330 ive already paid for the polo for a u.k spec its £770 for the change which is still lame as they quoted me £800 for a full year
  14. sorry just one last thing if i can get reasonable insurance on a J-spec then i might aswell go for a 6 speed so which model is the closest to the u.k spec.
  15. Thx for the offer but i want to have a supra to keep for a while so i think i'll hold on until i can afford a lower milleage car as iam really fussy about milleage Many thx anyway
  16. gets me why imports are more to insure feels like there just trying to squeeze money out of you for nothing o well ive only just started looking so theres time left yet best of luck with your search anyway hope you find a goodun
  17. hmm well i'll phone up about an import then to see what insurance is like on one not really what i was after but ive seen some nice examples around for the sort of money ive got
  18. well i want a u.k spec because of the insurance and the goodies they come with i would if i had the choice go for a manual and if one came along for the right price i would snap it up but ive been told there very rare so i was hoping autos were a bit more common,so either really aslong as its silver and has the the stuff you would expect FSH e.t.c at the moment iam just trying to get a feel for what costs what as i dont want to go to much over £10000 which i hope will secure me a standard or near standard model with not to many miles on the clock.
  19. sheez just had a look on the autotrader couldnt spot one surely u.k auto's arent that rare are they
  20. slurp what a beaut Thx for the pici aswell
  21. So does anyone have a picture that shows the vent so i know exactly what to look for
  22. top stuff theres just so many advertised its hard to tell the difference but i should be able to now. thx again Just one thing the bonnet vents are they a scoop type shape or a little harder to spot just ive had a look at a few pici's and cant seem to spot it or am i just being dumb While iam here might aswell ask if anyone knows of a respected dealer who sells top quality supras because iam new to these i would feel a bit happier swapping my money with a trader as you do
  23. Looking for a u.k spec TT auto but on the auto trader and various sites i cant tell whats what unless the person says U.K spec so hows the best way to be dead sert its a u.k one?
  24. I would prefer a manual as i like to control the clutch but as iam looking at a u.k spec there a bit rare which is a shame and iam not paying way over the odds just to have a manual box. why there so few i will never know
