Ewan... what can I say !
I too have been living in a state of delusion for the last 52 years !
I will always remember this day as the day I saw the light and realised that all those years ago when my beloved grandad tought me to tie my laces he was having a laugh at me, even though i was only five at the time.
I used to think he was the greatest grandad ever - now I know the truth.
When he died a few years ago I was unconsolable, little did I realise that all those years as I grew from boy to man, he was secretly laughing behind my back every time he looked at my shoes.
Now i hate him with a vengance.
i've just rang my gran up and told her what a bas**ard he was and how I bet she was in it too and exactly what I thought of them both - her uncontrolable sobbing didn't have any effect as i just looked at my shoes and it kept me strong !
Anyway, thank you Ewan, I can start my life afresh and for the first time in my life tie my shoes with pride.
Pics below are of my first attempt (of nearly thirty) and the finished article. Although I had to go out two three different shops to buy more laces.
With Thanks
G
