    Got me a Civic !

Funny you should say that, I've had the car for a month now and as the gearknob was scratched the first thing I did was to spend a couple of hours taking the laquer off and polishing it. It looked great Bad move - there was a frost that night, and by the time I got to work the following morning I'm sure I had frost bite in my left hand I've either got to get a leather one or some asbestos gloves for the summer ----- Re MPG, not sure yet as I'm not sure I want to know really Cheers G
  2. The next big one is the Vets Commonwealth Championships in Jersey in July, don't know if Bruce has entered. ---------------------- Mike, Senior Open (anybody can enter) competitions are on about every couple of weeks up and down the Country. Plus County, Regional and National Championships once a year. Veterans (40 plus -me) have two Nationals, plus a European & World Championship which are GBR selected squads. Great fun - try it There's nothinmg like the feeling of backing a 6 foot squaddy up to the back line and whacking hell out of him Sorry, forgot myself, it's a gentlemans sport ---- Def Leppard
  3. Finally swapped my old ST200 Estate for a new work toy. Needed four seats and to be able to be borrowed by the couple of guys at work when I want to pinch their vans (so sensible insurance group). Good things: handles really well, you can thow it into a corner and it feels spot on. Nice driving position as well. Love the sporty little high gear knob. Gets lots of looks too. Bad things: Paintwork is really thin all over, inside & out, really crappy. Unsure yet: It revs really freely, red lines at 8,000 RPM, but the Vtec doesn't come into play until 5,800 RPM If you try to keep it over 5,800 it really shifts but I've not got the knack of not going to fast everywhere Feels a bit like having a turbo that doesn't kick in until you are doing 80 ! All in all I like it
  4. Any pics folks.. Weather was really nice Looking at bikes at the mo and sat is the only day we can travel, so sadly missed this one. Saw a couple of nice bikes, but still no decision yet - still toying between what I really ought to have (in view of safety and boring reasons) against what I really fancy Hope to make the next one
  5. Happy Birthday MrB. Hope you have a good one. G & S
  6. Sorry Folks, as I thought, can't get there this afternoon - sorry. Hope you have a good one if it goes ahead (been a quiet thread this week). Cheers G

    supra with my mouth

I say give the guy a break... Not all of us spend every waking hour on here (just SOG's like me and a few others) and even I manage to miss the odd thing Also, the amount of new members we have must mean masses haven't seen stuff thats great. Supra with my mouth: think the vid in the car is better, like the CTR as well (just bought one)
  8. Still not 100% sure, but will get if we (or I) can G
  9. Spot-on, exactly my thoughts. The last thing we want is three or four cars there or sometimes none ! I'll give the thread a couple of weeks and a couple of bumps, see what happens. Cheers mate. G
  10. Sorry, I wasn't sure which EO it would be. As you have been before, what do you recon ? would it be suitable for a Club stand if there aws enough interest ? G
  11. This is just a very tentative post to see if there would be any interest in a Club stand at the Silverstone Classic on July 24,25 & 26th. If there is some interest I will pop another thread in the Events Section, take it up with the local Event Organiser (?) and Silverstone. There is a big club attendance with about 60 clubs last year, obviously mostly classic clubs, but also some more modern eg MR2dc and MX5oc etc, so we may be able to get in. I went last year and thought it was great. The first thing you notice is that you can walk anywhere, grandstands, pits, garages, talk to the race crews, chat to the drivers, poke the cars etc. The second is how quiet it is, lots of people but absolutely masses of space. I spent a couple of hours just wondering around the club stands & stalls before I settled down to watch the racing. The racing is very exiting as some of these classic cars just weren’t built for throwing around Silverstone corners and watching them drift round on skinny tyres is frightening It was also great seeing sponsors names / cars from the past that I'd almost forgotten, Camel, Elf, Benetton, JPS Lotus and the great Silk Cut Jags. Follows are some Links: Official Site: http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/ MR2dc: (pinched) http://www.mr2dc.com/eventDetail.aspx?navSection=events&eventID=1770 Recommended... G
  12. Rosie... it's a pushbike It's got no engine, no turbos and not even a basket on the front to put your shopping in - have you been drinking again tut tut tut
  13. Don't think anybody would disagree that it looks "different" just if it looks cool different or cheap & tacky different ? IMO some people (Ferrari above) ought to have their nice cars taken away until they they grow some taste G Edited: saying that, I suppose everybodies taste is different :-)

    bristol meet

How about next Saturday to watch F&F in Bristol ?
  15. As it's Friday evening and we only have two deffos and a couple of slim chances, I think we ought to make it next weekend after the Chippenham meet (with Tiggers consent) How about it ?
  16. Re your PM - no prob mate. Looks like this is a non-starter this weekend, perhaps take Tiggers suggestion up and go after the Chippers meet ! Can't do Monday myself, I'm looking forward to my usual Easter Castle Combe opening races. Have fun all.
  17. Still got my big pot of Vic Vapo Rub
  18. Will post up on Sat to let you know for def. Cheers mate. G
  19. What dates are good for you ?
  20. I'd like a bit more feedback first, as it may be just you and me (which would feel a little wrong somehow) Unless your "D" stands for Delicious Debbie :-)
  21. Sorry, I may have missed this - is there another thread going (can't see one) if not, where's Tobys ? This a pos for me at the mo. Cheers G
