  1. Mawby suggested the Pelican Inn, or was this no good for some reason ? I may have missed that bit of the thread. Dosn't matter two me, but it might be usefull to contact the landlord before we turn up mob handed ! Just a thought....

Up for this one, it's my "local" track. Been around a couple of times, the first on a Classic day in my old GT6 (you won't remember them). Was being very sensible until I saw an E Type in front of me, then a red mist came down and that was it ! I really didn't see them waving the black flag at me - honest ! (was young with hair then) ! Had a couple of goes in a Westfield (now 4 sale) and it's very good fun. Not sure an auto TT is the best thing for the new bendy track though - "red mist" could be expensive ! Still good fun watching the other drivers "Not race" !!! Gerry
  3. Nice pics Lee, Must remember to pack the digi for the next one. Gerry
  4. Count us in (again)........ You never know, may be sounding a bit more of a beast by then (that's the car, not me). Once we found a suitable pub, would it be a good idea to let them know to expect us - just a thought ! Cheers G
  5. Thought your post looked a bit of a Billy Nofriends on here so saying hello. Sounds good as it's a nice blast away but can't find out anything about it - can you help ?? Cheers G
  6. Make mine a fresh cream apple turnover please... and none of your artificial white creamy substitute either, got to be the proper stuff, made from real cow juice. G Has that word really got a "tit" in the middle, I can't find the spell checker on here !
  7. Ok I've sussed it...... I'm going to say that I died and the body was being transported to Spain at the time of the photo'. I'll also claim that I'm only my next of kin and that I can't remember me. That should do it...... The trouble is that you spend most of your time driving looking in front of you for GATSO's, behind you for cop cars, everywhere for Safety (read Tax) Vans and up in the sky for helicopters..... I'll probably crash into a police car in front of me. Thanx all G
  8. Thanks Chris, Thought that may be the case. We get a lot around here (Wilts) but you usually see the red & yellow chevrons on the back. The trouble is that the sneeky bu**ers somtimes hide ! I have heard that a jammer may do the biz but I'm to chicken to sport an illegal bit of kit (must be my advanced years). Cheers
  9. Sorry Lee, didn't mean to worry you (or anybody) if I had been "spotted" in the convoy, I think it may have been a little more than 60 ! Was fun though.... Cheers Gerry
  10. This will make you laugh (didn't me though). Changed my Screen-name a couple of weeks ago and found a pic I liked. Got a little letter this morning "YOU BEEN GATSO'd". I was giving the Soop a little go last Sunday early morning and decided to see what she would do tops (was very early and roads were quite) did silly speed before running out of road over the brow of a hill. So I about had a heart attack when I got the letter. Was really glad when I spotted "60" in the bad boy bit and realised it was on the Saturday on a pootle to Bath. Turns out a "safety camera van" Ford Galaxy had spotted me, still don't know where he was hidden, on the Bath by-pass dual carriageway that's a 50 (don't know why) ! Anyway, will pay up and think myself lucky ! Looking at the Snooper versus Road Angel thread now. Drive careful !!
  11. Juat to add our bit.... great meet - especially from Winnal to Fleet ! Nice to see you all again, the pics (an vid) are really good, we forgot our digi (again) but next time..... Had a good blast home M3 / A303. See you all soon I hope. Cheers Gerry PS. this will make you laugh..... I got a little letter this morning - I've ben GATSO'd !!!
  12. Hi, Think we met briefly at Stonehenge in the summer (grey import TT). The Jap place in Bristol is http://www.car-imports-direct.com. We bought our Soop from Neil there, and he seemed a good guy. I don't think they do any work there, but their conversions are done by Protec (see above). The conversion seemed good and the car is brill. Don't know about the Corsham guy but he sounds like he may be worth checking out. Cheers
  13. No "Mawby" or "Lust" at this one then ? Shame........
  14. Just back on line after a few (computer) probs over Christmas. Count us in please..... Will prob meet you Bournemouth hooligans en route and follow you up - will put the two-way's on charge 10-4 ! I ought to add that anybody who is sporting their new NUR Spec should cover it up with a brown paper bag to stop me drooling on it ! See ya there.......
  15. Have put a NUR Spec on my Santa list, but my own garage has a speed bump to get into it, have you non lowered motors had a prob yet ???? Gerry
  16. Thought it was video of "Amsterdam" but all there was, was a bunch of kool cars - shame !! Nice pics though, like the "rear view" ones. G
  17. So whats the attraction in Amsterday - or is that a stupid question !!! Have fun...... G
  18. Some really good pics, pity Sue & I forgot the digi this time ! We nice to see such a good turnout for a simple met at a pub, also nice to have a couple of people there that wern't members but turned up anyway - hope they will join us for some fun in the future. Mawby - us doing doughnuts & slides, you should know that us OAP's are more sensible, I thought doughnuts came with sugar on, an slides were for the grandkids ! Good to see you all again. Cheers Gerry
  19. Steve (W2) have you polished up your Nur Spec for me. I've given the wife a dusting and she's not come up to bad ! See you all tomorrow. Cheers Gerry
  20. Sounds good to us (1.30 ish). See ya there..... Gerry & Sue
  21. Mornin all...... Just checking that a get together in Bournemouth area is still on for the 26th as the thread seems to have gone quiet ! Still OK for us, just need a time and place. Cheers Gerry
  22. Exactly what I had in mind..... Made our weekend sound fantastic. Gerry
  23. You mentioned your mishap on the way to Pod, didn't know you had more to come... Think you ought to tell us about your day, I'll start for you: It was a bright and clear Sunday morning, the sun was shining and I just knew it would be a marvelous day............. Over to you,,, Gerry
  24. Sorry about the confusion, I'm going to change my name (poss to "Homer" (re my surname) or to "Gatso" (as lookin for them seems to be my unintentional hobby) to avoid confusion. What do ya think ? Then Sue can have Ouzolover all to herself. Re: "Turning it into as wife swap" - good idea, I'd like a new Blitz Nur Spec R for mine - any takers ????? Looking forward to the meet.. Just a thought re the "swap", as the Blitz would be noisy & expensive, would I really notice the change (soz Sue love) ! Cheers GERRY
