  1. Gerry

    Hello

Hi Katie... Glad to see you here with your own name. Can't wait to see your new TT-6 We could always stop for a coffee at Fleet on the way to the Fairmile, for Laz to catch up No doubt you will be hearing from Soo on here tomorrrow. Cheers Gx PS.... Laz, we'll have to watch these girleez or they'll be taking over the forum
  2. Hi, hope you read this... Hope you got it home all OK. If you are reading this then you have found the best Supra site for information, help, meets and the most friendly bunch of peeps around. I'm sure you will be abole to get help with changing to UK spec (and getting your radio sorted). Drop me a PM / mail to say Hi. Cheers Gerry (Gatso)
  3. Went down to Cornwall last week. The A30 is a brill road, dual carriageway most of the way, minimum Gatso's and once past Devon not much traffic (in the winter) ! We passed a traffic cop who had pulled someone over, and made a mental note to keep an extra eye out behind. About five mimutes later notice him coming tearing down the road behind us, so slowed to 59 GPS - he tucks in close behind us much to my discomfort He stays there for about two / three mins before his lights go on and I pull over I get out and greet him with "and I thought I was being really good as well" ! he siad that I was, but he had run a check and the car was registered to a cleaning machinery company and they usually had vans ! Phew !!! Quick check of my docs (not my licence as it's not pretty) and he's happy. Told me to watch out later for the ice as I wouldn't want to bend such a nice car (at that he patted it, and left with a wave) Bless..... What a very nice policeman Carried on the rest of the way at warp-speed overtaking all the traffic that passed us thinking I had been "done" ! Doesn't sound funny now, but at the time it went from "shit" to "smile" in two minutes !
  4. Brill day.... Really nice to see you all again, looking forward to a a meet in the sun in the not to distant future I hope. Good to meet up with all the "usuals", and some new to us as well. "New Purple Skyline" sorry, didn't get youe name, nice car ! See you at the Fairmile next meet all being well. Thanx Laz & Kate for the mini convoy there and back, was fun ! Cheers Gerry & Soo PS .... Great Cake Sheena, fancy being Mr.s Simpson Mk2 ?? x
  5. Thanx Dude May take you up on that... will wear my strongest bicycle clips as well Cheers...
  6. Will meet you at J4 Sainsbury's (see SW convoy thread) now, bout 11.15. Cheers
  7. Hi J, Yep done a SW Convoy thread, although it looks like quite a compact convoy at the mo (me) ! Will still be meeting you at Fleet if you would like to stop off. Cheers
  8. Der.... I should read the threads properly before posting shouldn't I I was getting the Jap days at Castle Combe & Pod mixed up, my age u know ! Thanx for your thoughts on Pod, think I'll have to give it a go this year or I'll just sit there watching - feeling chicken ! As for Combe, I'll be giving that a miss, I've done it a few times before and I know that I'm to stupid for my (cars) own good. I sit there saying to myself, Ok take it steady , but then i get out on the track and some evil twin takes over. Did it twice in my Westfield and don't really know how I stayed on the black stuff, and once in a "classic meet" in a GT6 (u won't remember them) and was black flagged ! I was doing OK till I saw an E Type in front of me :littled: So will be supporting you from the banks of quarry.. Unless I change my mind that is...... !
  9. Ok this is my problem.... I would love to have a go at a 1/4 mile, but like many I've spoken to at meets I'm very worried about making myself look a prat (OK no jokes there OK) I see there's a dedicated Supe run at the JapFest (if we can get 20 drivers) but I also see that there's only eight brave souls signed up at the mo. I'm sure there must be more like me out there and was thinking that if we knew there was going to be other "newbies" there you may give it a go. I know that I'm probably more likely to put the car into a hedge on a normal road than do anything silly at Pod, but if I do go "off road" in Wilts, I won;t have an audience clapping (inc. you lot) ! What do you think you budding 1/4 milers..... Gatso
  10. South West Convoy... Will be leaving Warminster about 10am which will put us at Fleet Services at about 11 - 11.15 and Box Hill about 12 ish. How about meeting up J (and anybody else from this area) and then meeting up with the "Dorset Hants Mob" at Fleet ??? Times are flexible... I'll pop a "South West Convoy" thread up see if we can get a few more along (Laz etc) Gatso N Soo
  11. Hi.... Were not to far away at Warminster. When we bought ours (Soo n me) it was from a jap place in Bristol. They use a specialist company near Bristol (may be Weston ish) who de-limit cars, change speedo's, fog lights and underseal etc. If you're interested, I'll find the details for you. We took our to Chris Wilson for de-cat, fcd, etc, he's along way but seems to know what he's doing and has a very good name on here. There is a place in Wincanton who specilise in jap cars (workshop) but it seems mainly Evo's & stuff although they do advertise for Supes etc. Again, can dig the name out if you want it. Hope to meet you sometime (local meet ??) & for convoys to Pod etc. ------------ Hi Jay, not to far away are u... do you go to the Bath Uni ? I've seen a black Supe there a few times (including tonight) sounds very nice! Cheers Gerry
  12. Thought that may be the case The snooper helps with the flashy ones !! Although at night you can't see who's behind you so I'm forever letting hassling escorts etc past me cos it may be a cop only to charge them down when I find out there not - it's a hard life ! What I need is a diffuser at the front and a hellfire missile launcher in the back
  13. I was wondering about this recently after coming back from Wales (M4). Going there was two "safety vans" but coming back in the dark, I didn't see any (OK I know it was Dark !). Has anybody else seen them operating at night ???? Would be nice if they were all tucked up in there little safety van beds zzzzzZZZZZ Cheers
  14. Gatso here.. (Soo's Hubby) As there was such a poor response, we didnt take it any further (wait and see policy)! As it's Christmas, it may be that most people are doing things already. Our arrangements have now changed and we are away until Sat. If you want to arrange a meet without us no prob, if it's on Sat then count us in anywhere Cheers gatso
  15. Just a quick "thank you" to Chris Wilson. Took Soo's Supe up to Chris this week for new fast road pads, double de-cat etc etc. He found a couple of other bits on checking around. Studs sheared on the cat, but no prob he had some in. Top man, very friendly and am confident he knew the car 100%. Gave me coffee & mince pie to boot ! Would recommend him to all, and will be going back again, even though he's £45.00 worth of Optimax away Thanx Chris.....
  16. Soo here Thanx all for the Happy Birthdays.....! Off course aI am 21 again laz.....did u doubt it ? Anybody wants to pop in if u r in the Wiltshire area PM either of us or call if u have the number....always welcome. Bye Soo xx
  17. Been watching this on Sky, does anybody know where ours came ???
  18. We had this happen (so did my sis) it was a program that was installed onto our pc (prob came in with another download, so AOL said) they said these little programs can be attached to any seemingly harmless downloads and they just sit on your pc waiting to dial the 09 number ! AOL said I could get a 0900 bar from BT. When I rang BT to ask about it they said it was very common and they put a bar on all outgoing 0900 (premium) numbers for me - free of charge and instant. Seems to have sorted it. Good luck....
  19. Any news on this as if not I think we will order one from Mr Toyota, but would prefer a brill G&B one !
