Braided brake lines - MOT failure next year?

Straight from the horses mouth....... Mine failed today for a split hose and the guy recommened I get the braided for the retest as they were cheaper from mkiv store than toyota originals. -
Car just failed its M o t for the first time in three years. It failed on a split brake hose. Spooky thing is I contacted MKIV Store yesterday to check delivery times on these as I was going to upgrade to goodridge S/steel ones. All in all a right result:d

Not as bad as it looks mate just a few bolts to undo and a few small pipes to remove. I labelled the small pipes to make it easier on refitting. Do a search mate for more in depth instructions -

Not sure fella just looking at an faq on here about servicing and it said use either dot 4 or 5.1

Going to change my brake fluid this week my question is, Can I change from the dot 4 that is already in there to dot 5.1 just by flushing the old stuff through?

£300 to do the job? Thats not too bad I had heard it was a few grand.

too right its probably a £300 pound job but the council want a bit for themselves, as if I dont give them enough every month!
