I had only been driving for about two years when I got the ban and it was for two offences so cant see the punishment being as bad. I seem to remember not much of a premium increase in the following years after the ban as well, possibly because it was'nt dangerous driving, drunk driving etc.

Many moons ago I was pulled over twice in the same week and was given two producers. I asked my insurance company for a cover note, who told me I had not payed the renewal. I was sure I posted the cheque but did'nt check if they had received it. I went to court and explained but was still given a six month ban and a fine. I'm afraid that they don't seem to consider any excuses, probably because there are so many out there knowingly driving without any insurance. Hope it goes better for yourself though.

What is the best software to get to enable me to transfer a dvd to my phone pc type thing? Need it to be nice and easy to use. Cheers

Was very close to buying one a little while ago but decided to keep the supra and use the money to pay a chunk of the mortgage off. It just did'nt do it for me in the end.

Got back into cycling over the past few weeks covered 50 miles in the past two days believe it or not feel bloody great for it. Also did a five mile road run last week after a few years of doing bugger all (Results harvel5.com came 343rd ). Definately want to carry on with it now.

My clutch is on its way out and out of interest I called a branch of Mr Clutch who quoted me £384.19. They did tell the clutch manufacturer but I can't remember it. Is it me or does this sound like a bargain?

Just went to renew my road tax online, and as I got to the last few steps it stated that due to the budget the price online may vary to that of the price on the reminder. Now we all know it has gone up slightly, but if I take the reminder to the post office (two minutes from my workplace) will they honour the £175 and not charge the £180 as on the website. I know its only a fiver and I probably used more than that in petrol on a blat earlier on but I hate giving the government more money than I have to. Anyone know?

Good to see everyone today. The rear shocks were changed in no time hanks to Ian C's how to guide and after a call to one of Gaz's pals we sussed out the front left. However when we came to removing the bolt in the piccy for the left front we discovered it had been bent at some point and would'nt pull through so until Adam can get hold of a new bolt the last shock is on hold... Bloody cars:) Still a good day though.
