  1. If you are removing the whole unit you need an assistant to push down near the lower mounting point with a crowbar or similar and the strut should just pull put.

    Unhappy Trig

Master cylinder went last weekend had new seals fitted and it turns out there is a problem with the cylinder. Waiting for a new one at the moment. Typical a week before JAE. I've been pi**ed off about it all day but seeing adams put it into perspective.

Just got off the phone to a very pissed off Adam (Trig) up at JAE. He spent all last week sorting his boot build and today at Whifbitz getting the car ready for the weekend, and not five minutes away from the showground some tw*t changes lane and clips the back of his car. Needless to say he is not a happy bunny, he is now putting his tent up and having a few beers with the boys who are already up there.
  7. This is the one I need.
  8. Pretty urgently I'm afraid is there any way you can put up the pictures of the different cylinders
  9. I have contacted the usual suspects for one of these (Jezzy and Ibrar) but thought I'd check with everyone else on here. I am after a master cylinder (brake) for a 94 n/a supra. Looking at the diagram of the tt version there does'nt seem to be any differences. I now have to travel up to JAE in the fiesta:( Cheers Dave
  10. I might camp ths time instead of buggering off home because it was a bit chilly:d
  11. Glad I'm ot the only one then:) Thanks for looking fella.
  12. Thats what I was hoping mate I think I was expecting broken down rubber everywhere. Don't suppose you can answer the missing bolt question fella (only if you're near your car fella.)
  13. Well after my braking issues last week I ordered a master cylinder overhaul kit (92 pounds before discount). Stripped down the above mentioned item to fit the new seals etc and compared the old with the new. I was expecting to see a lot of worn down rubber, as the resevoir was a very dirty black colour, but could'nt see much in the way of wear, what do you guys think? (The old ones are at the top with the tape around them). Also there seemed to be a bolt missing above the piston stop bolt on the cylinder bodywhen I removed it, and the kit contained two new bolts. Is the other one for the empty hole? Any help or sarcastic comments welcome. Thanks Dave

    Grease

Where can I get Lithium soap based glycol grease? It is used for putting on the seals in the brake master cylinder. In the past I have used brake fluid for this job would that be OK? Thanks Dave
  15. Reckon I'll be up for this, be good to catch up with people.
  16. Yeah did'nt think of that fingers crossed:)
  17. Thanks for the replys chaps Dave
  18. Stiil six days to get it sorted though mate.I'm optomistic:)
  19. Hi guys, Just got the car through the mot ready for JAE, whilst on a drive about an hour ago the brake pedal started to feel strange almost like it clicked. A few minutes later I went to slow down and the pedal went to the floor (only going slow but still scary) and had very little braking power. I pumped the pedal a few times and it felt normal again. I limped it home as I was only two minutes away and now when the engine is running the pedal sinks to the floor but when the engine is off after a few pumps it feels fine again. Cant see any sign of leakage underneath. I flushed through some new fluid late last year a few times and after a while the colour turned dark. Could this be a master cylinder seal failure?
  20. I got a renewal quote from Sky of £630, rang Adrian Flux and got a quote of £460; Sky matched it and I didn't have to pay a deposit... just the regular direct debits Being the club insurer why dont they offer the best price possible to start with?
