  1. China Man

    Burst Pipe :(

put heating on and have enough ventilation, water damage is one thing, damp and mold is another nightmare.
  2. I have tried hi and low for it but no luck when I needed one.
  3. I am looking for a full size snooker table, lots around as a lot of snooker club in london closing down.
  4. I did lots of shopping around for materials so far. Off the shelves uPVC windows and doors, ring around local supplier on engineering bricks and concrete blocks etc. 1 tonne bag of sands cost from 23 pounds to 45 pounds just by ringing different supplier and buy in bulk. Most resent purchase is a RSJ of 6 meter with size specified by architect and engineering calc total £140 inc delivery, my builder choice of supplier wanted £1200. I had my kitchen extension built by polish builders and now the play house by Chinese builders, cheapest I can find in labour. Lucky both team have very good standard but it was a gamble which so far paid off as both project so far bang on budget. I am a drug dealer by trade so building trade is new for me, please be patient with my questions. Many thanks
  5. My architech note says Cellings below to be finished with 12.5mm thick taper edged board wit metalized polyester backing as vapour control layer. Proper ventilation should be maintained behind. Because it is a Class E outbuilding so insullation was not in the specification, I don't want to add insulation which will cause condensation on the wood. The timber joists are 175mmx50mm so I have 175mm between the the ply and celling board for insulation? sorry for all the newbie question, steep learning curve for me.
  6. Thanks for the input, because I am on a tight budget I don't think the above products will fit my requirement. My built is 7.5mx7mx2.5m which is a lot of space to keep warm. Labour cost 7.5k and material cost 8k so not a lot of room for top of the range stuff. Interesting point Jamie, I did a quick search on warm deck. Does it mean making the roof vapour proof all around and no air vent behind celling boards?
  7. Hi, My snooker hall at the back of the garden is nearly completed. It is made with solid concrete blocks laying flat @ single skin. Its a single story with a flat roof, to be used as a play house. I am thinking of using polyestene boards at 50mm on the outside, wire mesh on top then render with lime added. on the inside I am really tight with space, is this any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/30-sq-M-SINGLE-ALUMINIUM-FOIL-BUBBLE-LOFT-INSULATION_W0QQitemZ300383916789QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item45f046d2f5 I am thinking of using it behind plaster board and behind the celling. I am hoping the external insulation will allow me to have a bigger thermal mass inside and therefore easier to keep warm. Anyone can give me some idea?
  8. I always thought Lexus is glorified Toyota, a scam that Toyota try to make a prestige brand to fight for Benz market share. Some of the 4x4 are exactly same in both brand.
  9. When they say it is the first time they make a super car and I said to my wife thats a lie!
  10. There are a lot more things more dangerous then not washing your hands after using the loo. I wash my hands after using the loo at work and wash my hands before giving vaccination to patients. What strike me is that if you are to do thing right I will need to wash my hands everytime I handle cash notes, coins, credit card etc These items spread virus and bacteria far more effective than from toliet handles. Have you ever seen a cashier wash their hands everytime they collect payment and hand out money, no!
  11. lol, I have to agree that the less info boardcast the better, even if it is not your password. I remember when I moved house and cable was not installed yet I was desperate and connected to someone wifi by repeating their id as password... I am looking at a few wifi N router with USB port to connect external hard drive to create network drive like this one Belkin F5D8235UK4 300Mbps N+ Wireless Cable Router with Storage Port [F5D8235UK4]
  12. It have power but I like the idea of wifi and can move about with the laptop etc. forgot to add to my list able to connect a few CCTV via wifi and record onto the network storage a BT client so can download without my computer switch on I don't ask for a lot I am thinking of those N router
  13. I am never keen on wifi since I am a gamer and I like low ping when I play games with no lag. I am with Virgin cable and using power grid at the moment to bring internet from downstairs to up stairs bedroom. Technology moved on a lot since I last looked at wifi, I needed the following and not sure if it exists I want to set up wifi network which allows me to 1. add usb network storage e.g. external HD 2. plug in a printer and share it accross the network so I don't need the main computer to be switched on in order to use it 3. to be able to use internet in my shed which is around 25m from the main living room where the router will be installed Am I dreaming or does such device exists? Benson
  14. I think I understand where imi post come from, enough people want to buy supra without thinking about the money needed to maintain it or insurance even. I can't judge who can or cannot afford a supra but I will get offended to know anyone buy one but can't afford to pay for the proper oil and filter change for me the Supra have been very relaiable, so much that if anything goes wrong is usually the modification you do to it to make it the little bit faster, stock is best if you are on a tight budget. More chance of you lost control of the car and write off than it giving you trouble because of break down, I know as I had one RIP get a NA with nice body kit or a standard TT
  15. you choose where you want to work, if you don't like the pay and some other place pay more then move on. Supply and demand for job should rule level of pay not union. privatization of post office lead to closure of post office....well, if there is demand for a post office then it will stay open because it is a business, you pay postage and it cover overhead. If the pay is low and people leave their post then post office will have to increase their wages naturally to get workers. Postman are hard workers but not exactly skilled or trade skilled is it.
