  1. It looks like it's pretty stock actually (and a rare green one!), if this is it on this thread: http://autopia.org/forum/ultima/98348-ultima-open-house-2.html Some nice cars there.
  2. Can kinda see where he's coming from. "full size spare tyre"?
  3. http://www.sportsline.com/golf/story/10688922 Considering the money the guy has, he's obviously got taste.

Not according to the time loop theory, only a domed area around the island is in the different time, the sky is obviously outside this area so would have been unaffected by the time machine. That's why the sun would rise and set even when the island was looping through the same 108 minutes.
  5. Agreed, whether they will insure you should depend on whether you've made a claim in the last x number of years (which they also ask you), not how many years "no-claims" you've had. That should purely reduce the quote by x percentage each year. Doesn't work like that for some reason though. Anyone ever tried getting a quote off one of the companies that advertise 75% reduction for 5 years no claims, first stating you have no no claims, then remembering you do and requesting a 75% reduction of the initial quote? Bet the first quote isn't 4 times higher on most cars (may not apply to Supes).

Maybe time on the island is flowing faster to catch up with the rest of the world, after all the looping it went through before the hatch blew?
  7. Is that quote for comprehensive cover? If so, if repairs aren't a problem, why not get a quote for third party, fire and theft? (if they'll even do that)
  8. 80, but had someone come up and start a conversation half way through.

Doubt he's an insider, he has to massively rewrite his theory after each episode is screened.

    Marwell Zoo

No humps that I recall, parked the Supe there loads of times. Massive hard packed gravel car park, so you should be able to park a long way away from anyone else, if you don't mind the walk.
  11. Hope they had 200 pairs of clean underwear on standby when the plane finally landed... Plane attempting to land in crosswind
  12. As far as I can see, the only way you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt she was texting at the time is if a) she admitted it b) someone witnessed her doing it or c) the exact time of the incident is known and there's a phone record that a text left her handset within 5 seconds of the incident (even then she may not have had a signal until that point and may have hit send 30 seconds earlier). Even if her handset was found in the footwall mid-text (which as it hasn't been mentioned in the press, I assume is not the case), she could have started composing that text 30 seconds before when sat at a red light (in which case give her 3 pts and a fine) or 5 minutes before when she wasn't driving. And you can hardly say this accident would have been inconcievable if she wasn't distracted, given the circumstances.
  13. Considering she'd already sent the text, she probably wasn't actually still texting at the time of the incident. Was at 7am in February, so visibility wasn't great. Cyclist had dark clothes on. There was a cycle path available. She did admit she was speeding. Was a 30mph dual carriageway.
  14. Four years in prison for killing a cyclist who rode through a red light, because she'd been using her phone "close to the time of the incident"? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/7270751.stm Surely there must be more to the case against her than the BBC are reporting? Shouldn't they have to prove she was using a phone at the time of the impact and that the accident was her fault to convict her of death by dangerous driving? If someone cycles out in front of you and you happened to have used your phone whilst driving a couple of minutes prior, you are a dangerous driver, but your actions didn't cause that person's death. Could just be bad reporting from the Beeb of course...
  15. ..with regards to the FT-HS concept: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/28/toyota-hints-ft-hs-concept-could-inspire-next-supra/ Okay, it's only Toyota Australia, but I believe it's a first.

    Sanity prevails

So the lesson is to keep baseball bats strategically placed around the house then.
  17. Gotta go for the house. Would be guaranteed to accidentally lop something important off within 5 minutes of messing about with a light sabre. Oh and yes, it is a stupid question.
  18. LMAO! Congratulations, good to see she's back on the road. Have been following this thread with interest.
  19. This thread's still going?! Hilarious. When new an NA did 0-60 in 6.6 manual, 6.7 auto. With minor mods and the passage of time, they'll probably do it in around 7.0 I would have thought.
  20. Love it! Thanks god it's a Chevy Nova, thought it was gonna be a Vauxhall from the link.
  21. I sent payment for a calendar by paypal on 28 January, haven't received anything. Nudge, nudge
  22. If you've already had a 300HP RWD car, I can't see the Supra being a problem. Insurance isn't much cheaper on the NA than a TT and both should be cheaper than the Skyline. Running costs not massively different either... so long as nothing goes wrong! The insurance hike should be enough deterent to going single!
