  1. Nic was doing a deal on £80 odd because of good exchange rates. only problem with it is that it takes at least 4 weeks. i would do exactly as colsoop did. undo the 12mm bolts, top and bottom, 2 bolts, then unplug the air hose and pull the rubber fromthe inlet manifold. there is a little metal ring, looks like a trivial pursuit holder filled with orange segments, it comes out really easy. any trouble undo the top hose on the manifol and gently blow. the rubber sometimes gets bunged up with oil, as mine did, a bit of brake cleaner and TLC, be careful of the spring behind it, then put back together. (this is where i f**ked up originally, the ruuber must be flat side to the inlet and concave to the IAC unit). then give her a try out! Rob
  2. heres a pic, gasket is between the 12mm bolts and the intake. it was originally checked by putting some fuel in a cup and, while shes running, pouring it a little at a time over the area and she used to increase in revs. not sure id do it again. heat + fuel + me = not good!!! Rob
  3. yeah, i bought a new one off Nic, since mines old (shes done over 225k now) i thoguh i should get a new one just incase, and the old one did look knackered.... IAC, and yes you still have yours, just give it a look over, at first my gasket, which is metal wasn't on properly, then i put it back together wrong. Rob
  4. well i must report that my problem seems to have been cured. so it was down to either or both o2 sensor / IAC not together properly. still got another niggling problem, but i wont kill this thread with it. thanks to all for all the input and ideas. Rob
  5. i di check the Throttle Position sensors, both butterflies, the one attached to the throttle worked how the diagnostic said it would but i wasn't too happy as it was a series off 10 leds and should move from one end to the other, it did this but very quicklywith hardly any movement of the sensor. if theres anyone who done this test before, is this what you got or is the sensor too sensitive
  6. have been going over mine this week and have found one problem, checked both the TP sensors and they were working fine so mved onto the IAC and found one possible cause... a little while ago i found that the gasket for the IAC, little did i know back then, wasn't on properly and was leaking a little air so i undid the bolts and put it on correctly but my chunky fingers knocked the rubber out and when i put it back i have just confirmed that i put it the WRONG way round, thanks to Ian C for that confirmation. as to whether thats the whole problem or not i am yet to find out as my luck is running short and TT in the wet is a big chance of disaster real quick. given a clear and dry day i'll take her out and see if the problem persists. Rob
  7. alright alright, i'm crap. where were they? and how'd you know they were ventilation 3 & 4. i searched the engine manual and although it showed the breather no hoses and def no part numbers
  8. Could anyone help me on the part number for the rocker cover oil breather pipes (that croos over the coil packs). i've looked and looked and cant find any hint of what i want. cheers Rob S
  9. My bro's just got himself a scooby in v nice condition and was wondering what websites people are using? since quite a lot of u lot criuse many forums any suggestions?
  10. right then, i checked my plugs and coils as well. there was some oil around the plugs but the firms mechanic reckoned that it wasn't enough for the problems i'm getting. we reckon the oils coming from the 2 breather pipes across the top of the coils, both are 'wet' at both ends of the pipes and the pipes are 'rock hard'. so gonna clean it out, change the pipes and see. also checked the blink codes on the dagnostic, it came up with a pressure problem, 3-4. but i have double checked all the pipes and intercooler pipework. no luck checking against the problems i am having and the poss cures, again we reckon its around the butterflies. IAC, throttle control, etc. i plan on putting some serious time into the checking on the 1st week of oct (im away next week). Rob ps if anyone knows the part numbers it would be much appreciated. trying to search paul e's thread on numbers now but cant see what i need.
  11. no no no, goto Makro, bot the new makro mail this morning and 14.99 for a 2 tonne jack and axle stands. Rob
  12. defo need pics of the manageress, eye candy for all!!!
  13. Same here, i have got someone with a diagnostic machine but hes not sure if it covers the soop. hes going to get me the manual and i'll check then, if its good, we'll put her on and see if anything comes up. should know by mid week i hope.
  14. why not just start a little thread with user and team names, i'm in a couple of defferent leagues and am known by different names; i'm Spinkseys 11 Rob Spinks
  15. thats where i fall down, cause the fuel system is mostly standard, apart from walbro pump, i never saw the need for AFR. so couldn't tell you whats going on in mine. Rob
  16. crank & turbo seals were done professionally, so i never saw it.
  17. checked all the pins on the igniter this afternoon, all look good, no undue wear or scoring. how would i check the injectors, thats a shop job isn't it??
  18. yeah sure, i also checked the resistances on the coil packs - both hot and cold, changed the fuel filter.. haven't done the igniter, still looks ok but not really sure how to test, also thinking about the injectors. its all still standard and not really looked into replacement costs.
  19. i'm pretty sure this is the exact same problem i've got. i had just renewed plugs, cranks seals and turbo seals. this problem just started rearing its head. im now 4-5 months down the line, renewed - MAP sensor (turbo sensor), o2 sensor, cleaned the butterfly, the vacuum pipes, everything i can think of. its really bad when i drive calm keeping my accelerator steady. it got so bad the other day that i couldn't get the car started without the accelerator, then not idling at all. i found that the only thing that stops it is turning her off and letting her cool down for 1/2 hour. then works fine for a while. got a new TS bonnet coming, hope that it'll cool the engine a bit better.... (also im sure the guy before me changed the coil packs after a slight misfire problem.)
  20. i've renewed a mcuh as i can think of; o2 sensor, plugs, cleaned the butterfly.Car runs fine in 2 -6 but in first, when the throttle is only half depressed/ when im accelerating slowly she starts resisting, i know that sounds strange but i dont know what else to say, she just slows and sounds almost like detonation but without the high pitch crack. i'm totally stumped and need serious help, Rob S
  21. Could anyone tell me the part number for the nuts that hold on the O2 sensor, just behind the turbo. cheers Rob ps did check paul e's list but there's 3 bloody numbers.... Engine Exhaust lock nuts 90179-08059 Engine Exhaust lock nuts 90179-10070 Engine Exhaust nuts 94180-41000
  22. import them into what Nic?? Rob
  23. i know i know, but cheers for the info Rob
