i think you'll find this post by Ian most helpful; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56619 or read through this one for 100% perfect way of flushing air out of the system; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=83646 i found that when running with the bottle 1/3 full squeezing the more accessible matrix feed pipe, the pipe with the sponge on it going across the top of the cover, produced bubbles for a quite a while. also when i flushed the matrix i used the holts 2 step and that goes through the whole system, add it to the rad. hope this is helpful Rob

dont really know for sure, i would think it uses some type of refractive index taken on the fly as the fuel passes through on its way to the injectors. heres the site i found; http://www.green-car-guide.com/news/convert-your-car-to-bioethanol.htm for those that are interested. Rob
-
"Green Fuel’s Full Flex Gold Bi-Fuel Manager plugs into the vehicle’s injectors and communicates with the engine management system to determine the fuel type and therefore how much fuel to inject. Once fitted - an hour long job for a garage - the vehicle can run on bio-ethanol, unleaded petrol or a mix of both. The results are reduced emissions, cheaper fuel and a power boost." hey all just wondering if anyone has been looking into/ thought about doing this. with the Great fat B*****d, determined to roger us silly i'm starting to think this is soon to be the only way to keep my beauty on the road.... i'm wondering if this will work?? of course we could wait until bioethanol was widely available then with 70-80% of us with 'mappable' fuel systems it should be a 'simple' of remapping with a 100% E85. or am i hoping beyond hope ?!?!?!

yes thanks mate, its the second from the right, the idsk/plate that the studs fit into, god knows what i should have called it. problem is: is nearside left or right, how do toyota 'decide' looking from the nose back, therefore the right or opposite..... i'm just full of annoying questions at the mo aren't I also all the numbrs are the same, what part number is it?? cheers Rob cheers for all the help, Rob

Hi, i need no end of help but heres the most important, was changing the rear wheel bearing this morning, under strict supervision, and after all the hassle of getting the parts off, which was not as hard as i thought. it turns out that the 'stud plate', ii think thats what it was called, is fooked.... if someone would be kind enough to find the part number it would be much appreciated. thanks Rob S

love to have this but the chance of me getting over to drop the car off in birmingham for a few days is very unlikely!! bloody typical just when the perfect solution pops up something's there to bite it in the arse! Rob

thanks for the offer calros but i have just arranged for a 2nd hand one, if urs is new i would be tempted on what ur looking for it. si, that one one hell of a bill. i think toyota would be a last ditch thing as with all the posts on it recently i was hoping someone has found an ingenious way of sorting these out. cheers for all the help tho Rob
-
thanks for the offer carlos but have already got another coming to me tho. si that was one hell of a bill, there has been loads of bits on this since then and was hoping someone might have found a better way. your numbers are great tho, thanks Rob

any luck with this daman, mine is in a worse condition than urs, i only get the 'big' noise (flap thingy) when going from 20 odd degrees up. and get no more sounds after that at all. i have flushed the engine before and that semi cured the problem to roughly what you were suggesting, working upto 27 odd but not after. going to search out this nitrox stuff and try again. if you should bite the bullet and buy a new unit from toyota a part number would be greatly appreciated. thanks and good luck Rob

Water Injection, declined in popularity, why??
toyo rob replied to Chris Wilson's topic in mkiv Technical
Just to add my two p's..... just got back from CW's today, must say a huge thanks to him for a short notice booking then still letting me in when i'm late!!!, he just fitted wi on my bpu... and what a difference, she's been running a bit funny, odd occasions where she seems to start overfuelling when i keep my foot steady on the pedal, well whether the wi fixed it or is hiding it i dont really care as i've already had a beautifully smooth ride home, also my old boost settings went right out the window as i was boosting through the roof on what was 1.1 ended up reducing the boost setting by 10% easy and on top of everything else she seems to be doing nearly 50 extra km's per tank, (based on 125 from full to 3/4's constant to 150, then a bit of maths!!) -
took off my standard rear bumper the other day and some of the stupid rivet type catches broke up, does anyone know if they have to come from toyota and what the part number is???? also could someone tell me what this Body floor carpet [stick/black] 58510-1B171-C0 actually is ?? is it the carpet or the mats??? im looking for some nice carpet to put in the back but it needs to be sold in lengths, if you get what i mean, NO preset squares. Cheers Rob
