  1. this is really getting annoying now, i have taken off the battery (for other reasons) so therfore should have reset the ecu but still everytime i switch on the ignition the main fault light come on and the active spoiler lights flashes constantly, wheter i press the 'down' then turn it off, turn it off or even try to leave it on. does anyone have any ideas how i can get this to stop, i dont think i could drive the car with the main warning light on constantly...... if i take out the spoiler ecu would that kill it??? could i place a small resistor between two point where the motor used to be to fool the ecu into thinking its still there??? i am so frustrated i am tempted to see if i can get an old motor just to plug in.... help please Rob
  2. cheers, plugged the switch back in last night, it was dark though so i hope it was the right one, and switched the button off - but no luck. the light is still flashing no matter waht i do... Rob
  3. ok here i go; checked the doors and boot - both ok and when open the little little comes on as expected nic - yes i have had a new front bumper- and the little green light was flashing for the active spoiler so i pressed the button in for off and then unplugged the cable -= was that too far... will test today. how do i check the fault codes - never done it on the soop. the little bulb light is always on because previous owner took 1 set of brake lights out for use as the fog light. and i havent taken the time yet to figure out the cables to stop that from happening... thanks for all the input - will keep look at your suggestions and give the answers later (i hope).. Rob
  4. i realsie this is a shot in the dark at best but is there a difinitive list of problems that cause the main fault light, the big orangey !, to appear on the speedo. picked the car up from a respray today and the thing came up and stayed up. even though nothing was done to the engine. could it be something silly like air leak on the untake or something, that may have been knocked when they put the new front bumper on??? unfortunately info is thin and i appreciate any ideas/list of things it could be for me to start going through them 1 by 1. by the way, the only problem the whole way home was the sbc not working, the car was overboosting to the max i set of 1.35, nothing else seemed out of place. Rob
  5. mine's up friday and i paid up like a good boy yesterday, i'm a bit disappointed but not too bad i guess, been with Sky for 3 years now, have 4 yrs NCB cars down with the new bits i've having done now, front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, respray, added to exhaust and bonnet and they came up with £880. as usual i did check around, elephant came up with £750 then admiral came up with £560 but then a couple of other sites came up with the usual £1200+. thing that does annoy me is that, and guys be careful, the Spectrum breakdown that i get with my cover every year DOESN'T cover cars 15 years or older so this year the wont offer the breakdown cover (and just my luck this is the first year i am actually going to drive abroad!!) Rob
  6. i was thinking of going with the 8800gt cause of the requirements of the newer cards, what connections does it need?? ive got agp and pci slots only on the motherboard.

  10. coming up for xmas and i thought i might treat myself to a new game. so, what is the newest/best space flight sim game out at the mo. i absolutely love X3, enjoyed Freelancer, have tried quite a few of the others that i have seen in this area but surely there must be something new to try - x3 must be nearly 3 yrs old by now. rob
  11. i seem to be losing coolant and the only place that i can feel any dampness is where the pipes go into the bulkhead for the matrix. what are the part numbers for the ones leading across the top of the engine to the bulkhead including the metal pipework as that looks a bit shitty (blueish limesacale around the edge of the rubber/metal connections. and back again. cheers Rob
  12. Does anyoe on here know/use Crystal Reports. if so please help; i have a field that contains price data for different dates, ie date 01/11/07 = 3.00, 20/11/07 = 3.50, all linked to the same product code. i need to grab the correct price for the date i run the report which may be historical. now the formula i have is; if Next ({price.p-code}) {price.p-code} then {price.nett-invoice} which i wasn't sure about but seems to work. BUT what i get is 3 or 4 lines, depending on the number of records(price changes) per code 90% of which are 0.00 but one contains the correct price. now i have tried to use the Suppress function to get rid of the 0.00 values, which works and looks fine UNTIL i try to summarize the field and end up with a massive total. hope someone can help cause this is killing me, i only learnt how to use this last week after a 1 day course Rob
