I wired this thing up ages ago but i'm sure something ain't working right. So could someone confirm whether the following pictures show the right installation under the hood. Then if it aint that then what settings is correct; Then no matter which number im on, 1,2,3 or 4, she seems to boost the same. Now i've got a 3" de catted pipe with restrictor ring, and unfortunately loadsof other bits that i dont know about apart from those in me signature. please could someone help, have tried reading the tech disc on this but cant make head nor tail esp with so many diff cars about. cheers Rob S

Just a quick question on oil filters just had my car serviced, short notice thing really, and when the guys done it instead of asking me or inquiring about the oil filter hes just put a standard looking one on. ( is black and def made by toyota!!) i intended to change the oil and stuff myself but needed the clutch done so thought id save time by getting it all done at once!! ANyway have got a TRD oil filter but is it worth wasting the £14 odd quid paid for the standard one or shall i just change back next oil change/ upgrade. Cheers Rob S

i bl**dy well hope there legalI got a set on mine. ok they aint the biggest in the world, and they aint the loudest, but they sure get me noticed, have a phobia about being missed so close to the ground, me other cars a Landy and i drive 17 tonne trucks. They do only do a single tone tho and they only really loud when the bonnets open but they sure work and, althoutgh i didnt install them, look to be fairly simple. the little pump type thingy is positioned behind the drivers headlight casing and the horns themselves in the gap next to the expansion tank for the radiator. They are blue, apparently colour makes a difference in the HORN world. Would post a pic but im cheap and dont have a digital camera yet. might try and post a pic tomorrow if i can find one!! Carry on BLOWING,, Rob S

just chatting to a mate of mine, doing an apprenticeship at a F*** Garage:eek:, he told me about a dry sump system, apparently used in WRC for ages. On hearing the benefits, like limits oil leak if i damage my sump, my response was if im driving over humps that fast i dont deserve my car!!, but he said something about it increasing or at least helping with the compression. he then tried explaining it but i totally lost him about 2 words in. So in short, 1 has anyone done this? 2 is it any good? 3 what am i looking at in time and effort if i do go down that road? Cheers Rob S

just incase anybody needs any help with or has the same fault as me i can tell you that after standing there with at least 4 different mechanics and god knows how many helpful hints and suggestions that in the end i got so frustrated that i went to a Power steering place and got it checked out. THE ANSWER: well the stupid little steel power steerig tank/resevoir apparently has its own filter and is part of the tank itself. after time the filter become BLOCKED and causes fluid starvation to the rack and fluid to come out the cap. THINGS TO LOOK FOR: right then important bits to look for to know if this is the problem; fluid coming out of the lid, fluid containing bubbles/ looks 'fizzy', groaning in the rack when moving(1/2 way thru a journey)/ even after just topping up the fluid BUT NOT after the cars been left for a while. so after worrying about having to import a new pump it turns out to be something silly. ANyway cheers to DB for the help, and now am wondering if anybody know what kind of thing i would need to put into the tank to clear the blockage in the filter?? CHEERS Rob S

well cheers for the advise and am real sorry for the annoying remark. SORRY MATT, didn't think ideserved it really, just dying of frustration with not being able to drive my car for over a week and the frim's mechanic not really having a clue!!! Will take the hard earned advise tho and tone down, CHEEERS all, BYE BYE Rob S

Well ssssoooorrrryyyyy, ok, for the pedantic ones among this little group, its a straininng creaking noise that started only when turning right but has moved on to total movement of the steering wheel. that any better, now stop taking the piss and start to HELP Rob S:twak:
-
right, im having lots of fun and games with my steering at the mo and was wondering if any of u knowlegable and kind people would be able to help, right first i started to get a small creak from the steering, got an early 93 soop so had a quick search and saw a bit on some lucas stuff thats meant to help keep the seals etc in good order. went out and got some. was running a bit low on fluid so intend to add it all slowly till all was gone thus doing as the label instructed( USE ALL!!) anyway drove for a week or so and i decided to check the level. gone down so add more additive stuff. go some more, check add some more etc etc you get the picture. anyway steering starts to get a bit annoying so have a good look under the hood; see lots of slim under the battery tray and down the inside of the fuse box, and a small amount of liquid about the top of the resevoir. take a shot in the dark and say thats spewing out the bloody resevior!! how the f**k that work???. so chat to a mechanic doing some part time stuff at work. first words are" PSP's gone get a new one" i start to brick it as last thing my finances need is a big hole where my new psp is coming from. anyway go to a place and get a used one, still f***ing expensive but i thought well cheaper than toyota and they're 3 week delivery. put this thing on and no better, right really starting to f**k me off. ask about a bit and am starting to think along the lines of maybe a valve or something in the rack rather than the pump, any ideas / thoughts / explanations/ just anything really would be gratefully appreciated, esp if it saves me money, cheers Rob S:stupid:

did u boys go brembo all over, front and back, or leave the back as they were??? if i opt for the same, am i emptying the cookie jar or just diving into a nice big credit card debt?? cheers Rob S

right, background first, due to some very unfortunate circumstances and a run of bad luck i have recently changed the car so naturally thought, if i've got to do it, i might as well do it properly!!. so did a full de cat, upgraded my 10yr old SMIC for a CW one, upgraded the fuel pump and put on a DSBC spec R. Problem: now when in any gear higher than 2, when the boost goes above about 0.6 bar the revs go up, the boost kicks in BUT the car takes time to catch up. NOw is that just a worn out clutch which needs changing or is that running too much torque/bhp for my current clutch?? Now the REAL questions: DO i go for an uprated clutch or a Twin Plate?? And if TWin which is good, the RPS looks a bit tasty!!! Cheers Rob S:music:
